Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War - Wowpedia - Your wiki guide to the World of Warcraft Golden's become a pretty solid author for the series - every book is better than the last. I do wonder how well she'd do at her own worldbuilding, but she's gotten quite deft weaving with other people's threads. I will qualify this by saying I review media tie-in novels on their own scale, and this is the best of a generally appalling lot. The Warcraft books are all about as subtle as a panhandler's cardboard sign, and this one's no different. But the sentence-level prose is not particularly painful, and the story generally moves right along. While I may play World of Warcraft off and on, one constant is my interest in the lore behind the game, an interest that extends to pretty much all MMOs I play, in fact. I'm always devouring every piece of lore and background information I can find, even if that means putting up with some not-so-well-written novels every once in a while.

Both women have a long history in Blizzard games (with Kerrigan appearing in the original Starcraft, released in March of 1998, and Sylvanas making her first appearance as Banshee Queen in Warcraft III). These characters also have large and somewhat vocal fan bases. There was immediately a blog firestorm in response to the use of the epithet. Female, queer and minority players were already shocked when Blizzard mentioned that users would have to publish their full, real name on their forums (that plan has now been scrapped and in no small part to the above mentioned groups insistence that they were not disposable people) and were sent further reeling when scenes from the upcoming Cataclysm expansion were released with Garrosh Hellscream (a male orc) referring to Sylvanas as a bitch. Personal foibles aside, however, I would say that this book is perhaps the strongest of the World of Warcraft offerings yet released - even managing to compete with and perhaps surpass my previous favorite in the series "Arthas: Rise of the Lich King. The first novel in the series, On Fire's Wings, was published in July of that year. Why did he throw his own Horde at Theramore and allow many of them to be killed? Error rating book. But there did seem to be a time when neither of them knew what they were doing His thirst for conquest leads him to take brutal measures against anyone who dares question his leadership. Do different times call for different ethical standards? Come on! Instead, she has finally taken a stand. Besides now having a deep and abiding hate for Garrosh, I'm utterly disgusted with the Horde as a whole, including Baine and Vol'jin. Wolfheart gives Varian the true depth he needed.By Elizabeth M. RamirezI'm not a fan of Richard A. Knaak's work personally. I've enjoyed some of his stories involving dragonlance (The Ogre Titan Chronicles being my favorite) but for the most part his obsession with dragon stories in WoW tends to be boring for me. (although i did come to love Kalec, but hilariously only when in the hands of Christie Golden.) That being said, it was an extreme surprise to find myself enjoying Wolfheart and how well Mr. Knaak portrayed the characters. Inside you deal with the internal struggle King Varian fights with all his heart and tries to find a peaceful co-existance between both his anger and the love he has for his son, and the people he strives to protect. It's a recommended book for anyone who wishes to continue his story from the warcraft comics.
