Position title Event Operations Officer Job Summary As part of the HKRU Commercial team, you’ll play an important role in a wide range of events including the world famous Hong Kong Sevens. You will be working closely with the Head of Hong Kong Sevens in the planning, administration and organization of a wide range of events including the Hong Kong Sevens, Asia Rugby Sevens Qualifier, Asia Rugby U20 Tournament, Cup of Nations, Asia Rugby Championship, Domestic rugby competitions and banquet events such as the Sevens Long Lunch and Annual Dinner. The role involves dealing with event staff, stakeholders, contractors and external bodies in the build up to and during events. Specific responsibilities Work closely with the Head of Hong Kong Sevens, assisting the Commercial team with:- • Event liaison with stakeholders to ascertain precise event requirements • Co-ordination and management of event contractors to deliver event requirements • Liaison with venue management and other external bodies • Ensuring insurance, legal and health and safety obligations are adhered to • Manage staffing requirements, recruitment and supervision • Manage furniture, fixtures and equipment requirements • Assist in the management of event budgets and administration Your profile • Experience working in events is an advantage but not essential • A team player that takes pride in delivering world class events • Attention to detail and first class organizational skills • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills • Fluent in English and Spoken Cantonese – Written Chinese is an advantage • Knowledge of Hong Kong and a passion for rugby is an advantage but not essential • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions fast • Minimum 1 year relevant experience Salary offered will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. It is a rare opportunity to conduct research on elite athletes, and even more so for an emerging women’s sport. The overall aim of this thesis is to establish and compare observed international female rugby sevens players’ match-running outputs versus theoretical expected match-running outputs (elite male players and an established sport, football). Another unknown aspect of the women’s rugby sevens game is how fatigue affects performance. The thesis also determines differences in match-running outputs of international female rugby sevens players from half-to-half, game-to-game and tournament-to-tournament. Global Positioning System (GPS) units worn on the players’ backs were used to collect data from 18 female rugby sevens players across 15 matches and 19 female football players across four matches. Reasons for the gaps found in match-running outputs and aspects that could be improved for optimal elite performance in female rugby sevens were explored.

European Journal of Molecular & Clinical Medicine ISSN 2515-8260 Volume 07, Issue 02, 2020 6035 Strategies And Psychological Skills Training Experience In Malaysia National Rugby Team During The Asia Rugby Championship Ahmad Fadzlee Ahmad Idriss ,Thariq Khan Azizuddin Khan, Zulakbal Abd Karim & Ali Md Nadzalan Faculty of Sport Science and Coaching, Sultan Idris Education University Malaysia [email protected] Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the application, experiences, and perceptions of the psychological skills training (PST) among Malaysian national rugby 15’s players during the Asian Rugby Championship (ARC). In this study the mixed method research design (Exploratory Sequential Mix-Method) using questionnaire (quantitative) and interview (qualitative) methods were employed. Firstly, the Test of Performance Strategies (TOPS) questionnaire was administered with all 25 players. Using the MANOVA statistical analysis the study findings showed that there were only significant differences in the two aspects of strategy namely automacity and goal setting (p <0.017) out of nine psychological performance strategies during the ARC 2018. In terms of psychological strategy based on player position and experience, there were significant differences only in each aspect of the strategy encompasses goal setting and automacity only (p <0.017). Secondly, semi structured interviews were conducted with 10 key players, the results indicated that 70 percent of players were unable to provide accurate information on the use of psychological strategies during competition. There is some inconsistency comparing both quantitative and qualitative data. The implications of this combined analysis indicate that there is no difference in the use of sports psychology strategies overall or in terms of player position and experience.
