Position title Event Operations Officer

Job Summary As part of the HKRU Commercial team, you’ll play an important role in a wide range of events including the world famous Kong Sevens.

You will be working closely with the Head of Sevens in the planning, administration and organization of a wide range of events including the , Sevens Qualifier, Asia Rugby U20 Tournament, Cup of Nations, , Domestic rugby competitions and banquet events such as the Sevens Long Lunch and Annual Dinner. The role involves dealing with event staff, stakeholders, contractors and external bodies in the build up to and during events.

Specific responsibilities Work closely with the Head of Hong Kong Sevens, assisting the Commercial team with:-

• Event liaison with stakeholders to ascertain precise event requirements • Co-ordination and management of event contractors to deliver event requirements • Liaison with venue management and other external bodies • Ensuring insurance, legal and health and safety obligations are adhered to • Manage staffing requirements, recruitment and supervision • Manage furniture, fixtures and equipment requirements • Assist in the management of event budgets and administration

Your profile • Experience working in events is an advantage but not essential • A team player that takes pride in delivering world class events • Attention to detail and first class organizational skills • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills • Fluent in English and Spoken – Written Chinese is an advantage • Knowledge of Hong Kong and a passion for rugby is an advantage but not essential • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions fast • Minimum 1 year relevant experience
