The Finance Department continued with its work on achieving greater efficiencies through the digitization of more of its processes and activating more of the features of the current accounting software for improved departmental reporting and also improved front-end Member experiences for restaurant and banquet bookings.

While full team sports and competitions have not resumed, the various Sports Sections together with the Sports Department have worked tirelessly at setting up safety procedures and protocols in line with government measures and devising many new formats of the games and training routines so Members can continue to participate in matches and training to maintain that edge for when the national leagues programmes resume.

Our Membership figures remain robust with just a slight dip in numbers; SCC welcomed over 300 new Members looking for a comfortable and safe club to call their second home, enjoy premium facilities and services, and socialise over recreational activities – particularly at a period of travel restrictions.

The F&B menu re-engineering project saw the addition of a lighter range of Mediterranean- themed dishes and many healthier vegetarian options.

Staff and Members alike toasted and cheered towards the end of 2020 when our licence application to ‘Pivot to Permissible Activities’ was approved, enabling us to open up the Main Lounge, Stumps and the Stumps Terrace with safe measures in place.

Slowly but surely, we are also seeing banquet facilities bookings return to the Clubhouse and look forward to many more to come as safe measures continue to ease.

Working around the physical capacity limits, many social workshops and talks were held virtually instead or off-site so Members continued to have other avenues to interact with one another in meaningful ways.

A new portfolio was introduced this year – Member Engagement – with the twin mandate to enhance Member interaction through more participative events, activities and hobby groups, and additionally tasked to set up programmes to foster a more caring SCC by giving something back to the larger Singapore society through Community Outreach Programmes.

By the end of the year, we had the frameworks in place for the SCC Book Club and the SCC Running & Brisk Walking Club and I am pleased to note that they have been well-received and participated in by the Membership.

Chairman 2020 shall be consigned to history as an unprecedented Pandemic year that Victor Olsen caused widespread disruptions worldwide. Yet, I am pleased to report that SCC has managed to navigate through this rough period with well-balanced Subcommittee Members key financial performance indicators. This achievement was a direct result of Rangachari Raghavan a series of tough internal fiscal and cost management measures boosted by the Martin Goerojo much-welcomed assistance from the government in the form of the Job Support Hamish Christie Scheme (JSS) and other rebates support received by the Club during the Circuit Jon Robinson Breaker (CB) as well as post-CB period. Bill Chua The forced closure of the Club during the CB period and very stringent Safe Chioh Chye Hion Management Measures (SMM) protocols required by the relevant authorities KK Natarajan throughout this period impacted all major revenues streams from F&B (with Gobi Nathan Main Lounge and Stumps reopening only on 14 December 2020 and the Ketki Sen Men’s Bar remaining closed to-date) and our traditional SCC marquee Annual Sports events (cancellation of all four major SCC international invitational tournaments). The cancellation of F1 2020 inflicted another heavy loss to the Club.

To mitigate and balance these massive top-line shortfalls, sharp measures were implemented in all areas of staff and operational cost control. We are glad to report that for FY 2020, we managed to contain the operating deficit to just -$3.20 million after depreciation and a net surplus of $169K after tax provision and government COVID-19 support. The graph on the following page highlights the broad savings from all the cost centres to balance the adverse impact of the revenue shortfall.

NEW FOOD & BEVERAGE INITIATIVES A wide variety of F&B promotions were introduced in 2020 and some had garnered very good responses from our Members and their guests.

During the lockdown period, the Subcommittee moved quickly to setup the GO-GO SCC Takeaway service to ensure that Members were able to continue to enjoy SCC favourites in the comfort of their homes.

We successfully launched the GO-GO SCC Takeaway service in end May, created the GO-GO SCC Takeaway Online Portal, promoted takeaway wine and spirits bundles, improved the range and presentation of Carvery Lunch at the Main Lounge, revamped the Afternoon Tea offerings and introduced the Tomahawk Special in Padang. The Oval Restaurant, Padang Restaurant and Bar Ala Carte menus were revamped with more vegetarian and healthier choices set at competitive prices. In October 2020, we also welcomed aboard our new Executive Chef, Mr Richard Ng, joining us equipped with a wealth of experience.

As part of the Club’s Go Green efforts to contribute to the sustainability of our environment, we implemented biodigesters in the Oval and Padang kitchens to reduce on-site food waste and save on hauling costs while taking care of the environment.

BARS Due to the pandemic, the bars were closed for a few months and the Club was able to join the SNBA pivot scheme that allowed the outlets to operate as snack counters. The F&B Subcommittee aims to introduce high quality wines and liquors at the most affordable “Can’t Get in Town” prices. The Club also invested in better glassware for whisky and wines. Promotions such as “Bucket & Tower of Beers”, and festive promotions were generously introduced to Members. The Club introduced a wider selection of fine wines from all over the world to cater to the preference of our Members.

RESTAURANTS Padang Restaurant and Padang Landing were converted to a full day restaurant with afternoon service during the closure of the bars. We had table settings with fresh flowers centrepieces and upgraded glassware to help create a lovely dining ambience at the Padang Restaurant, while new table lamps at the Oval & Verandah uplifted the evening dining experience.

The Courtyard was converted to a dining area to cater to more Members dining in. The Oval & Verandah continues to offer a full range of SCC signature dishes as well as a wide variety of local and Western specials. Popular monthly specials introduced to our menu were well-received. Our Friday weekly Indian specials have continued to be a hit with Members.

The Oval kitchen’s revamped washing area continues to improve efficiency and maintain high hygiene standards and create a healthy working environment for our culinary team.

TRAINING Staff training remains an important area of focus for continuous improvements in service standards and product knowledge. Chairlady Marketing and Communications (MarCom) built new links to connect Margaret Cunico Members to all relevant aspects of Club business and operations seamlessly and in a timely fashion. Subcommittee Members Monica Alsagoff ADUSTING TO THE NEW NORMAL Srikanth Kakulapati Joanna Ossinger The events of 2020 highlighted the critical role of communications at a time of unforeseen change in Singapore and at the Club. We had to disseminate news and information with speed, clarity and accuracy especially from March onwards when COVID-19’s adverse effects on all aspects of life in general and activities at the Club in particular became painfully apparent.

With face-to-face gatherings and all activities halted almost overnight during the Circuit Breaker, we banked on our online communications to keep Members connected and keep the SCC Family spirit alive during the two-month closure.

ANNUAL REPORT 2020 AR21 SUBCOMMITTEE • MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

The flow of information was equally critical as the Club entered its reopening phase. We made sure the Membership understood the reopening details, addressed health and safety-related concerns, assured them of the enhanced hygiene practices and other precautions to give Members the confidence and peace of mind to return to the Club.

The Marcom team created vibrant publicity and marketing of the many services, offerings and promotions available to Members – emphasising the management and staff’s resolve to continue to deliver quality products and services within the “new normal” environment we had to adapt to. In particular, the marketing campaign that we developed for the Club’s new Takeaway & Delivery service which started in June was the launchpad for a very successful new business that grew exponentially for the rest of the year.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNICATION CHANNELS The Marcom Department communicates with the Membership and public via the following channels: • The Padang Magazine • The SCC Website • Email • Social Media • Facebook • Instagram • LinkedIn • Twitter • YouTube • Onsite Print Posters and Digital Display

In 2020, notable channel developments included the following:

1. Growth of existing social media platforms: Facebook and Instagram The SCC Facebook Page now has 1,628 followers with an approximate average monthly page reach of 15,586. Meanwhile, our Instagram enjoyed a significant boost in the number of followers and now has 938 followers and an approximate average monthly reach of 5,784.

Especially during the Circuit Breaker months, Facebook and Instagram became vital communication lifelines for our Members. We actively reached out to Members to procure social media content. User-generated content helped to elicit better Member engagement and worked well in endorsing SCC and its Club culture to non- members. It also served to showcase our sporting culture and our Members’ expertise and sporting prowess. On top of this, the educational content enabled Members and non-members alike to learn and benefit from the skills and expertise of other Members.

The content included: 1. Follow-along home exercise sessions conducted by Members: Engaging Members and advocating fitness regimes while staying home. 2. Cooking Demonstrations by Members. 3. Organising fitness competitions played out at home, e.g. 1-minute challenge, Fitness Bingo, etc. 4. Resharing of online activities / content created by Sections that showcased our Members sporting prowess.

AR22 SINGAPORE CRICKET CLUB MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS • SUBCOMMITTEE

It was heartening to have Members supporting us with content and see the Sections coming forward to participate enthusiastically in our online activities.

2. Creation of new digital / social media platforms: YouTube and LinkedIn During Circuit Breaker, we expanded our digital presence with a SCC YouTube channel to upload our activity videos onto the platform.

In July, we decided to resurrect our SCC LinkedIn Page to heighten the level of awareness of the Club; we now have 520 followers and a slightly different content strategy geared towards generating interest for membership ownership. We are delighted to report that we are seeing some early results with LinkedIn.

3. Enhancement of content for Padang Magazine Despite none to fewer F&B promotions, Events and Sports activities during lockdown and Phase 1, we produced refreshing and interesting content for our Club magazine. We created feature articles on physical and mental health maintenance, interesting “Did-You- Know” club-related pieces, and activities for adults and children such as crossword puzzles and colouring pages. Exclusive interviews with a Member who is an essential frontline health worker and another who shared his personal account of getting infected by COVID-19 were also well-received.

At the same time, we encouraged the Sections to produce informative articles and many rose to the challenge to pen introductory articles about their respective sports and conduct their own interviews with key personalities within their Sections – helping to raise awareness of the varied Section activities that SCC has to offer for all age groups and fitness levels.

As Club operations slowly returned to a new “normal”, we continued to build up our feature editorial content; Padang Magazine is no longer merely a “newsletter” of Club events, activities and promotions but an informative and engaging publication that showcases our Club from multiple perspectives.

REVENUE GENERATION Despite being a year of severe cost-cutting for many brands, we earned more than $20,000 in advertising revenue on our various communication channels. To provide value-add and aid Members’ businesses in a financially difficult year, we bundled advertising options and offered significant discounts specially for the Membership. Building up our social media presence with new interesting content.

Gross souvenir sales for 2020 totalled approximately $24,300 and just under $9,000 in profit. Sales were promisingly higher in January and February over the same months in the previous year but COVID-19 abruptly halted growth from March onwards. Although sales started I would like to thank the Marketing & Communications picking up in July, the lower footfall at the Clubhouse for the rest Subcommittee Members for volunteering their time and providing of the year in comparison to that of 2019 meant that sales did not guidance, the Staff team for rising to the demands of an unusually recover to pre-pandemic levels. challenging year, and the Membership for its support and feedback.

Meanwhile our dogged efforts in marketing F&B promotions paid off with increased patronage and revenue for the Club. Margaret Cunico Chairperson Marketing & Communications Subcommittee

SCC Bowls Section Members spent time coaching families from The Hut- a charity that targets social mobility and aims to enable all children and youth to develop to their fullest potential – as well as kids from Kim Tian West RC. The children had loads of fun trying to roll their bowls to target areas!

One of the children that attended the Lawn Bowls Clinic, Arman, was so enthusiastic and interested in the game, that the SCC Lawn Bowl’s Section has very generously decided to mentor and train Arman.

Our Football Ladies also had a great evening session with the SNL Girls, while three coaches from the Cricket Section coached participants from the Marymount Girls Home during the Sports Clinics.

Chairman 2020 was an unprecedented year with new guidelines implemented by the Anwar Gaffoor government on organising events and we had to change our focus from in-person Subcommittee Members to virtual events from April 2020 onwards. Even so, the committee strategised George V. Abraham and brought in an array of virtual events to continue to keep Members engaged. Vikram Raman Soma Devi One of our main events before the pandemic started was the celebration of Darlene Kasten International Women’s Day on 18 March. We organised a Mamma Mia Srikanth Kakulapati Dinner Theatre with Guest Chef Jenny Pang from Lots Gourmet, who curated an amazing four-course dinner alongside four specially crafted Hendrick’s Gin cocktails concocted by popular guest mixologist Charmaine Thio at our signature restaurant, The Padang Restaurant. Members had a wonderful time singing along as well as even acting in some of the scenes!

VIRTUAL EVENTS We came up with various virtual events - some were very popular while others not so much and with that feedback, we fine-tuned our programs so we could continue trying to give Members creative opportunities to engage virtually especially during the lockdown period.

Convenor The last game of Balut was played in March 2020 just before COVID-19 Sunita Kapoor lockdown.

Usual subscriptions were collected through 2020 - the Section Committee agreed that we needed to give back to the Section Members, and hence for the Raj Kumar Balut AGM in 2020 all 123 Members were given $20 Club F&B vouchers.

Secretary As we could not host a Christmas function, in return another lot of $20 Club Cindy Raman F&B vouchers were sent out to 97 Members. With all the inactivity, we were losing Section Members, and it was getting to a point where we could not lose Treasurer anymore Members; it was with great relief that we finally received permission to Mohan Dadlani start playing games in January 2021. Each month, we hold two game sessions with 16 players per session – enabling a Committee Members total of 32 players to participate in Section activities every month. To give more Soma Devi back to Members, we give $10 Club F&B vouchers to all participants for each Tony Fisher session, so they can enjoy a meal at the Club before games start. During the session break, participants can visit STUMPS, contributing a minimum $600 of Elected 31 October 2020 average monthly income towards the Club’s F&B.

Convenor 2019 was a busy year for us with several Interport visits from our fellow David Yim reciprocal clubs from , and Brisbane; in September, we also made our way up to Penang for the 6-Red Snooker invitational and had two Captain Interport matches with Penang Sports Club and Penang Club. In the local scene, Tan Bak Choon our Division 5 team won the Division 5 Cuesports Singapore League, while our Section Member Peter Gilchrist won the World Billiard Championships in Melbourne for the sixth time. We also won the Chinese Swimming Club Secretary Presidents Challenge 6-Red in December 2019. We topped a wonderful 2019 Jason Teo with a splendid Section Christmas Party with a turnout of almost 50 Section Members and guests. Treasurer Yap Giau Peck We were expecting a busy 2020 with all our traditional social events that are usually very well supported lined up. We kicked off 2020 with a visit from Committee Members Penang Club in January. That was followed by our traditional Chinese New Peter Gilchrist Year dinner and Lion dance. In February, we congratulated Peter Gilchrist and Tushar Doshi Dorothy on their wedding at SCC Padang Restaurant. Our Division 4 team was doing well in the Cuesports National League before Elected 9 January 2021 the matches were halted in April after the authorities closed the Causeway and imposed a lockdown; all sports and recreational facilities and non-essential services were closed by the authorities from 7 April to 4 May as part of Circuit Breaker measures.

Above: On 29 October 2020, Peter Gilchrist won Sportsman of the Year, Singapore Sports Awards 2020, Singapore for the second time.

The Section wishes to recognize the passing of two of our Section Members in 2020, Mr. Michael Yeomans and Mr. Tony Richardson. Our deepest condolences to both of these two outstanding gentlemen and long-term Members of our Club and Section. We will dearly miss them.

On 19 June 2020, the Club was reopened again in Phase 1. However, the Men’s Bar and Billiards & Snooker Room remained closed; the GC, GM and the management team tried very hard to reopen the space without F&B services but received repeated rejections from the local authorities as the Men’s Bar operates under a Bar License. It was not until 2 October when the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) allowed more sports facilities to open up, that our Billiards & Snooker Room was opened up for play, but without F&B services, and under strict social distancing guidelines.

We congratulate our Section Committee Member and current World Billiards Champion Peter Gilchrist for winning the Sportsman of the Year, Singapore Sports Awards 2020 in October 2020.

SECTION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING On Saturday, 9 January 2021, we held our Section AGM at the Gilmour Room at 2pm. A total of 14 Section Members attended in person and we had a lively meeting. On behalf of the Section, I wish to thank all the Committee Members of 2019 and 2020 for all their contributions to and support for the Section, as well as the outgoing Section Secretary Jason Tan. I also wish to welcome our new Committee Member Tushar Doshi who joins the rest of the existing Section Committee that was re-elected.

FUTURE PLANS Looking ahead this year we look forward to: • The commencement of the National Snooker League run by Cuesports. • Improving the Billiards Room playing conditions by having a private room and possibly refurbishing table 2 • Having more social events when we move out of Phase 3

I wish to thank all Section Members for their understanding and support as we regroup and explore more ways to promote our Section and sport under these very restrictive social distancing conditions.

Convenor 2020 was an extraordinary year for the entire world, and our microcosmos of Edith Somogyi Bridge was no exception.

All our best laid plans for the year’s event calendar have come to naught, and Captain the only thing that saved the Section from total hibernation - or worse – was Patricia Jasudasen Internet Bridge.

Secretary About a year after the Circuit Breaker was implemented, we are still living Olivia Law with all the restrictions as far as physical Bridge is concerned, but now with the vaccinations just around the corner and the gradual return to normalcy, we can Treasurer revive our hopes for a more normal 2021 event calendar - at least for the second Charles Macgregor half of the year. So, how have we spent most of 2020? Committee Members Esther De Silva Well, like most meetings, we have gone virtual and without fail have played from Susan Milford home regularly, never missing a single Monday, 7pm session. As face-to-face physical bridge at the card table became impossible when the Circuit Breaker Elected 7 October 2019 was implemented, we migrated our game to BBO, a popular online platform.

The Bridge Section currently meets and plays online at https://www.bridgewebs.com/sccbridge/

This was done quickly and seamlessly, and thus our Members have not been deprived of our weekly Bridge meet—a blessing, amidst all that we had to endure during the worst of the isolation.

Our Game Director, Carlton Parker, continues to enhance our Bridge experience by adding features not available on BBO, such as pre-dealt theme hands, a well maintained homepage (https://www.bridgewebs. com/sccbridge/) and fuss-free, enjoyable games week after week.

All in all, we have a lot to be thankful for: despite the pandemic, our Section is still thriving, our numbers have not changed significantly; some have moved away but we also gained new Members in the meantime.

All this keeps me hopeful.

My fellow Committee Members - Olivia Law, Esther De Silva, Charles Macgregor, Susan Milford and Christiane Duckworth - and I are focused on the gradual revival of the Bridge Section’s former vibrancy, for the benefit of all our Members and also that of our cherished Singapore Cricket Club.

Convenor STILL WAITING Steve Dawson When the Football Section set out its plans for 2020, there was only the merest indication that the numbers 2-0-2-0 would become forged as reference for a Captain time where the world would be so still. And yet, if 2020 was indeed a year only Glyn Vince of stillness for SCC Football, the rightful conclusion might be that we had a far more serene year than that of countless others. Secretary Stillness in not enjoying travel, yes. But pertinently, stillness in Gulston not Chris Godfrey making that lung-busting overlap, as Madhaven doesn’t move gracefully with the ball at his feet, while Vince isn’t making his decoy run towards the edge of Treasurer the box. Instead our movements have been squats, star jumps, endless cross bar Paul Paffett challenges, slalom course dribbles and the ‘best’ Christmas present of all: 4 vs 4.

JSM Representative What pleasure can we then take from a footballing 2020? Amos Boon Undoubtedly Women’s Football is clearly making its long-overdue mark on the Club. A pioneering group of female footballers have made their way to the Committee Members Padang each Monday and Friday, learning the game, getting themselves fit and Kevin Slack making significant progress on both fronts. Susanne Shaw deserves credit for Mark Mirosovic-Sogo keeping this embryonic group incentivised, while Huw Evans, Henry Yeo and Glyn Vince have provided key assists. Amos Boon has made the very necessary Elected 5 February 2020 and material step of generating external interest, such that we can realistically plan for a social team and an NFL team once the world is ready for fully-fledged 11-a-side football to begin.

AR62 SINGAPORE CRICKET CLUB FOOTBALL • SPORTS SECTION

The Lions squad has undoubtedly been the pride of the Padang this year. It is no surprise that there have been consistently good numbers turning up for training on Thursday nights. Rob Gulston has invested a great deal of time in setting up creative and very enjoyable training sessions for his charges and I know that the players are grateful for his effort. I am delighted to say that Rob has agreed to stand for a place on the Section Committee for the coming year and if elected, will take on the role of Secretary.

The 3rds’ season started on the Padang as early as 8 January. With three good months of football bolstered by up to 20 players at a time, they had to take the unprecedented decision to convert games to three thirds of 30 minutes, in order to meet the demand for playing time. The adjustment from playing 11-a-side football to maintaining groups of five was, by captain Justin Madhavan’s own admission, tough to do. But like everyone else they soldiered on, spending quite a bit of off-the-pitch time at The Courtyard having drinks and meals together every Wednesday. The weekly turn-out of 16 players remains testament to the close bond that the 3rds are famous for.

The Padantiques are undoubtedly in the midst of a testing period. Friday nights on the Padang are by now steeped in the Club’s modern history. But numerous key departures from a once oversubscribed squad have made for quite challenging times on match days and indeed training. Thankfully, Glyn Vince is back in his rightful place as captain. His passion, recent Club recruitments and some inspired brainstorming will be the key to beginning another half-century of Pads football on a Friday night.

The Legends too have struggled to maintain numbers during these COVID-19 months. Like the Pads, they have warmly welcomed the women’s squad to share their Monday night real estate and like every other squad on the Padang, have taken the responsibility of being so very visible on our historic turf, with the seriousness and maturity that the Club and the authorities quite rightly expect.

The Tigers have maintained a high level of fitness training during this unprecedented ‘off-season’. As a competitive team, they now face the task of maintaining a squad that will be ready for action once league football is reignited. This has been a period of reflection and recruitment for the Tigers. The hard work that Kevin Slack and Bruce Loggie have put into keeping this competitive outlet alive, must now exit the pandemic with a critical mass of willing Members to maintain their raison d’etre. They will continue to have our ardent support as long as Membership is demonstrably willing and able to buy into competitive football.

Last but not least our elite group of NFL footballers just had time to make it to the Open Plate quarter finals of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club 7-a-side tournament, before the pandemic prevented any further travel and indeed competitive football. The Tigers and From top: SCC NFL Team; SCC Tigers; SCC Vets at the RBSC 7s. a mixed bag of SCC vets also had the pleasure of a marvellous tour that I know we are all longing for once again. The NFL team led so very well by Amos are maintaining sterling levels of fitness in their gut-busting sessions each weekend.

These ‘still’ days are characterised by uncertainty as much as anything else. We will be ready for 11-a-side football when the whistle finally blows but realistically, the Section Committee for 2021 will, I am sure, be keen to plan for the possibility of as ‘still’ a year as the one we have just had. Value for money, alternative forms of acceptable, social competition and continued friendship are very likely to be the priorities.

Convenor COVID-19 sure put a spanner in the works on this one! With the annual pre- Nanthini Viknesh season league underway, all four competitive teams looked poised for a stellar season come Nationals 2020 – which eventually had to be called off due to the Captain global pandemic. Genevieve Guiney SCC HAWKS Secretary Our 1st Ladies’ team, the SCC Hawks, was well underway to completing a major Eliza White feat of being undefeated in the annual pre-season league for the first time since 2016. JSM Liaison SCC EAGLES Rosie Vavasour With some players moving up from the Eagles 2019 into the current Hawks team, there was plenty of opportunity for the Ospreys who had been promoted Committee Member (Social Secretary) to take charge and show what they were made of. SCC OSPREYS With many new juniors coming on board, the Ospreys once again saw a team shuffle that welcomed some of the young guns into the adult leagues. While they took some time at the start adjusting to the elevated competitiveness and physicality of adult leagues, our newest players showed resilience in the face of adversity and after three close losses in their opening matches, saw victory of the smallest margins of one goal – once again proving their tenacity and grit to keep up in the big leagues.

TOURING TEAM – SCC FLAMINGOS The very aptly named touring team was gearing up for our biggest tour in a while with a super trip to Melbourne, home of WORLD CLASS Netball planned for May 2020. The highlights of the trip were to include a training camp with the Collingwood Magpies, Super Netball League team, interport matches with Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) Netball and other friendlies with local and regional teams. Team bonding by way of unconventional activities such as From left: Ranjini Visvalingam, Rosie Vavasour, Monique Dickerson, Nanthini Visvalingam, (Stacey Beard) (Not in photo: Eliza White, Zara Wingfield, Genevieve Guiney) bush hiking, cooking competitions a la My Kitchen Rules were also on the cards. This tour unfortunately had to be postponed but we are well looking forward to when it is finally allowed to resume. Netball Section Convenor JUNIORS The Section now has a healthy pipeline of juniors in development and watching them grow as players playing in our adult leagues has proven to be quite a successful formula. Splitting the juniors up and allowing them to play with the seniors has allowed them to develop and grow at a different rate and level in comparison to development in age group leagues. They also balance out our competitive teams with an edge of youth, exuberance and enthusiasm.

THANK YOU The Netball Section would like to thank the Club, its staff, the General Committee and the Games Control Board Chairman in this interesting albeit challenging year.

We would like to thank the outgoing Section Committee for their contributions to the Section and welcome the incoming Committee.

On behalf of my Committee, I would also like to thank all our Members - playing and social - for their continued support of our initiatives and Section through this really trying time and for riding the wave out with us. Bring on 2021 and beyond.

Good players attract other good players to come play for us and it is great to see the Club going from strength to strength in this regard. The same phenomenon is seen with the ladies as well who have a strong blend of youth and experience in their team and performed well with second and third place finishes in the national tournaments. Under the astute leadership of Rehmat Johal and with juniors such as Audrey Tong and Claire Cheng, they are targeting a national title in 2021.

We also have some serious strength in depth with the Men’s B team winning the Singles title and the Men’s C team winning the Doubles title.
