Registration Open for Winter/Spring Classes at Wolf Trap

Classes for children, families, and adults begin at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap

Vienna, VA – Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces its class series for Winter/Spring 2014. Wolf Trap offers instruction in private piano, voice, guitar, drumming for all ages, and social dancing, as well as master classes and Wolf Trap’s Signature Programs for Early Learners: Baby Artsplay!™, and Artsplay!™ Wolf Trap classes emphasize personal achievement, community building, and encourage lifelong learning through the arts. Keys to Success! Private Piano Lessons 5 year – Adult Price: $420 (30 minutes), $630 (45 minutes), $840 (60 minutes)

Whether you're a bench beginner, ivory expert, or somewhere in-between, Wolf Trap's professional piano instructor provides focused attention that emphasizes personal achievement, broadening of musical understanding, and the joy of making music. Offered in comfortable, state-of-the-art private practice rooms, our piano lessons will give you the tools you need for headlining your next dinner party or simply playing the songs you love.

Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student and will be held on: Saturdays, January 25-April 12, 2014 (makeups April 19 and 26), 10 am-2 pm; Mondays, January 27-April 21, 2014 (no class February 17; makeups April 28 and May 5), 4:30- 8 pm.

You Can Sing! Private Voice Lessons 12 years – Adult Price: $420 (30 minutes), $630 (45 minutes), $840 (60 minutes)

Burgeoning bass-baritones, seasoned sopranos, and glee club “gleeks” will enjoy one-on-one sessions with our professional voice instructor, who will work with you to enhance your singing skills. Lessons move at your own pace while providing an understanding of proper voice training and music styles. Wolf Trap provides comfortable, state-of-the-art private practice rooms and a relaxed environment that will help you prepare for karaoke night or your next school audition.

Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student and will be held on: Saturdays, January 25-April 26, 2014 (no class February 22 and April 12; makeups May 3 and 10), 10 am-3 pm.

Strum a Chord! Private Guitar Lessons 10 years – Adult Price: $420 (30 minutes), $630 (45 minutes), $840 (60 minutes)

Rock fanatics, jazz aficionados, and classical buffs alike can hone their craft with the help of Wolf Trap’s professional guitar instructor. Private lessons are designed to cater to your needs and experience with a focus on increasing technique and musicality. Taught in our comfortable, state-of-the-art practice rooms, lessons at Wolf Trap will build your confidence so that you will be jamming with your friends in no time!

Lessons will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of the instructor and student and will be held on: Mondays between January 27-April 21, 2014 (no class February 17; makeups April 28 and May 5), 3:30-7:30 pm.

Footloose at Wolf Trap: Where the Community Comes to Adults Price: $60 (for 4 classes); $18 (per-class)

Djembe Drumming for Adults Teenagers and adults Price: $120 (6-week session); $25 (per class)

Djembe specialist and Wolf Trap Master Teaching Artist Kofi Dennis guides students of all skill levels through the engaging experience of a djembe drum circle. Feel your stress melt away through this therapeutic art form as you discover the rhythmic patterns, phrases, and techniques of this prominent West African drumming tradition in a comfortable group setting. Bring your own djembe or borrow one from the instructor.
