Awareness Programme at TBML College, Porayar The NSS units of TBML College, Porayar in association with Betsy Elizabeth Trust, Porayar organised an awareness programme on Clean . Dr. M. Ravichandran Principal of the college presided over the program. Dr. Selvaraj, NSS PO welcomed the gathering. Mr. Ashok kannan and Ms. Sangalpa of WHEEL Foundation participated and interacted with the NSS volunteers towards the development of the nearing villages. 2. Kalaimahal College of Arts & Science, Mayiladuthurai The NSS units of Kalaimahal College of Arts & Science, Mayiladuthurai organised a cleaning camp in the college campus. The NSS Volunteers cleaned the thorn bushes and unwanted grass inside the college campus.

3. Cleaning of Public Places by K.N. Govt. Arts College for Women, Thanjavur The NSS units of Kundavai Nachiyar Govt. Arts College for Women, Thanjavur conducted a series of cleaning programme in Thanjavur. Around 50 NSS Volunteers took active part in the cleaning campaign.

Cleaning the College Campus 4. Cleaning Adopted Village by , Trichy The NSS Volunteers of Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy conducted a cleaning campaign in their adopted village, Navalpattu. Around 55 NSS Volunteers cleaned the roadside, temple premises, school campus, etc., in the village.

5. Cleaning of Veterinary Dispensary by Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy The NSS Volunteers of Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy cleaned the Veterinary Hospital campus located in Gundur, Trichy. Dr. Premavathy, Veterinary Doctor appreciated the services of the Volunteers for their service. After the cleaning tree saplings were planted by the Volunteers.

6. Swachh Bharat Orientation Programme The NSS of Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy conducted a Swachch Bharat Orientation Programme for the NSS Volunteers in the college campus. The Chief Guest for the programme is Mr. S. Kalyana Sundaram, Chief Health Inspector, Southern Railway, Tiruchippalli. Around 150 NSS Volunteers participated in the programme.

7. Swachh Survekshan 2018 The Tiruchirappalli City was ranked at 6th place in the cleanest cities of the year 2016-17. The city corporation officials are taking several efforts to bring the city as the cleanest city of the country. A programme on awareness about the Swachh Survekshan and keeping the city clean was conducted by the Tiruchirappalli City Corporation at Sangam Hotel, Trichy. Cine fame Music Director, Mr. James Vasanthan was the chief guest for the programme. Around 150 NSS Volunteers of Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy participated in the programme.

8. Cleaning of Pond by Govt. Arts College, Ariyalur The NSS units of Govt. Arts College, Ariyalur cleaned the Setti Pond located near the Ariyalur Bus Stand on 25.09.2017. The District Collector inaugurated the cleaning process. The NSS Volunteers of Units II and III participated in the cleaning process. They removed the thorn bushes, unwanted plants, etc. The NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Rajasekarn and Dr. P. Selvamani organised the programme.

9. Cleaning of Vedhamirtha Lake by BDU Model College, Vedaranyam The NSS of Bharathidasan University Model College, Vedaranyam in association with Consumer Forum of Vedaranyam conducted a cleaning campaign in the 1000-year old Vedhamirtha lake. The NSS Volunteers removed the waste articles, plastic, waste, garbage, etc. from the lake.

Daily Thanthi Dinamalar 10. Hospital Cleaning by Imayam Arts & Science College, Trichy The NSS Volunteers of Imayam Arts & Science College, Thuraiyur, Trichy conducted a cleaning campaign at Kannanur Govt. Hospital. Around 100 NSS Volunteers (female) cleaned the hospital premises.

Cleaning of Plastics by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts & Science for Women, Perambalur The NSS units of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts & Science for Women, Perambalur organized a screen awareness programme “SAY NO TO PLASTICS” on 08.11.2017. The NSS volunteers actively rendered their service in cleaning plastics & polythene wastes from public places & human habitation. They also impact knowledge of not using plastics to the commons of the college campus and public places.

13. Rajagiri Dawood Batcha College of Arts & Science, Thanjavur The NSS units of Rajagiri Dawood Batcha College of Arts & Science, Papanasam, Thanjavur organised a cleaning programme on 04.11.2017 in the college campus. Dr. K. Balasaravanan, Principal of the college inaugurated the programme by explaining the importance of clean environment. Around 100 NSS Volunteers cleaned the campus under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers, Ms. P. Samiyammal and Mr. D. Jayaseelan.

14. Sri Saradha College for Women, Perambalur The NSS Volunteers of Sri Saradha College for Women, Perambalur conducted a cleaning campaign at Govt. High School, Murukkanngudi, the adopted village. Around 50 NSS Volunteers under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officer, Ms. S. Puvana cleaned the School campus and planted 500 saplings inside the school campus.

15. Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College, Thanjavur A cleaning drive was organised by State Bank of India at Medical College, Thanjavur on 02.10.17. Mr. A. Annadurai, District Collector, Thanjavur inaugurated the cleaning drive. Around 40 NSS Volunteers from Annai Vailankanni Arts & Science College, Thanjavur participated in the Cleaning drive under the guidance of the Programme Officer, Mr. J. Selvam.

16. Cleaning of Cauvery River at Trichy The NSS units of Srimad Andavan Arts & Science College, Trichy in association with the Tiruchirappalli City Corporation conducted a cleaning programme of Cauvery River in the Trichy city area. The district Collector, Mr. Rajamani, Corporation Commissioner, Mr. Ravichandran inaugurated the camp. Around 100 NSS Volunteers of the college participated in the cleaning programme.

Swachh Bharat Application Download Campaign The NSS units of Cauvery College for Women and Tiruchirappalli City Corporation jointly organised Swachhata Application Download campaign on 27.11.2017. The Assistant Commissioner of Tiruchirappalli Corporation, Mr. S. Prabhakaran addressed the audience about the importance of Swachhata App and the Members from the Corporation demonstrated the App Download method. Around 150 NSS volunteers were the beneficiaries of the programme. Awareness Pamphlets were distributed among the volunteers. NSS Programme Officers, Ms. A. Sahaya Jenitha, Dr. M. Neela, Ms. N. Sathamai Priya, Dr. S. Metilda Bhuvaneshwari and Ms. Mary Girija were present during the programme.

Developing Leadership Qualities Awareness Programme The NSS Units of Swamy Dayananda Arts & Science College, Manjakudi, Thiruvarur district organised an awareness programme on “Developing Leadership Qualities” for the NSS Volunteers of the college. The Chairman of the College, Mr. M.G. Srinivasan inaugurated the programme in the presence of Dr. N. Kanagasabeshan, Principal of the college. Awareness Programme on Recent Trends in Renewable Energy The NSS units of Annai Women‟s College, Karur conducted an awareness programme entitled “Recent Trends in Renewable Energy”. Ms. S. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. R. Rajkumar, Principal, Annai College of Arts & Science and Dr. G. Mahadevan, Principal, Annai Engineering College in the presence of Mr. M.I. Dharmapuram Adhinam Arts College, Mayiladuthurai The NSS units of Dharmapuram Adhinam Arts College, Mayiladuthurai, Sivanarul Movement and Vivekananda Trust conducted a Dengue Awareness Camp on 12.10.2017. The Principal of the College, Dr. S. Swaminathan welcomed the gathering. He explained the importance of cleanliness around the households to avoid Dengue and the importance of taking Herbal Medicinal Drink. 4. Govt. Arts College, Ariyalur The NSS unit II of Govt. Arts College, Ariyalur conducted an awareness campaign about the deadly Dengue fever in their adopted village, Anna Nagar in the Ariyalur District. Deputy Director of Health Service, Dr. Uma Maheswari inaugurated the campaign. The NSS Volunteers went to each home and explained about the importance of cleanliness to avoid the dengue.

World Sight Day Awareness Programme The World Sight Day is observed on Second Thursday of October every year. This year the World Sight Day fell on 12th October, the theme for the year is “Make Vision Count”. In view of the World Sight Day, the NSS Cell of Bharathidasan University in association with Joseph Eye Hospital organised an awareness programme on 12.10.2017. Mr. Subash Kalyan, Superintendent of Police, was the chief guest for the programme. Dr. A. Lakshmi Prabha, NSS Programme Coordinator, Dr. C.A. Nelson Jesudasan, Director, Joseph Eye Hospital, Dr. M. Motivational Seminar on “Leading the Right Path” The NSS Cell of Bharathidasan University in association with Tempz Academy organised a motivational seminar on “Leading the Right Path” for the NSS Volunteers on 13.10.2017 in the university A/c Auditorium. The main aim of the programme is train the Volunteers for the competitive exams like UPSC, TNPSC, VAO, etc. Dr. S. Srinivasa Raghavan, Professor & Head, Department of Library and Information Science was the chief guest for the inauguration programme. Dr. P. Natarajamurthy, NSS Programme Officer (Unit II) welcomed the gathering. Dr. A. Lakshmi Prabha, NSS Programme Coordinator proposed the Vote of Thanks. Tempz Academy‟s Mr. E. Vignesh provided the guidelines for attending SSC, RRB & RRC exams. Mr. R. Periyasamy explained about „How to crack the Group IV Exam‟, Mrs. M. Nilopher Banu on the topic „Do you want to be a VAO‟ Ms. M. Amrita Kaur spoke on the topic „Guidelines for Banking Exams‟. Mr. Gowthaman spoke on the topic „Exclusively for Civil Service Aspirants‟. A Quiz programme was conducted by Mr. S. Vinodhan for the Volunteers and prizes were distributed to the winners. Certificates were distributed to all the participants by Dr. A. Awareness Programme on Life Development The NSS units of Annai College of Arts & Science, Kumbakonam organised a one day awareness programme on Life Development on 13.10.2017. Principal of the college, Dr. Rajkumar presided over the programme in the presence of Mr. Humayun, Secretary, Annai Group of Educational Institutions. Dr. Srisundar was the chief guest for the programme. The chief guest spoke about the evil effects of Mobile phones,

Youth Empowerment Programme The NSS unit of Vivekananda College of Arts & Science, Sirkali organised a Youth Empowerment Programme on 16th October 2017 in the college campus. Mrs. K. Punithavathi, NSS Programme Officer of the college welcomed the gathering. Dr. K. Ramakrishnan, Principal gave the presidential address about today's youth. Mrs. S. Digital Economy Awareness Programme The NSS units of Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakudi, Thiruvarur district conducted an awareness programme on “Digital Economy” for the college students on 31.10.2017.
