    Persbericht Fjord Line Maastricht, 30 november 2017 Fjord Line ook in het succesvolle derde kwartaal op koers Noorse rederij vervoert van januari tot september 2017 zes procent meer passagiers, vijf procent meer vrachtwagens en 25 procent meer opleggers ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar / Omzetstijging van 16 procent in het derde kwartaal van 2017. De Noorse rederij Fjord Line, die van het Deense Hirtshals en het Zweedse Strömstad naar Noorwegen vaart, verwacht in 2017 een nieuw recordjaar te draaien. Groei door volume, omzet en winst kenmerken het derde kwartaal van dit jaar. Zo is het aantal passagiers van januari tot september met zes procent toegenomen ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar. Bij het vrachtsegment kon de rederij bij de vrachtwagens een plus van vijf procent en bij de opleggers van 20 procent noteren. De omzet steeg in het derde kwartaal met 16 procent in vergelijking met dezelfde periode vorig jaar. Over het gehele jaar gerekend is er zelfs sprake van een toename van 20 procent. “Fjord Line is op koers om zijn ambitieuze doelstelling voor het boekjaar 2017 te realiseren. We zijn met name verheugd dat de passagiersgroei na het uitstekende zomerseizoen ook in het derde kwartaal doorzet”, aldus Rickard Ternblom, algemeen directeur bij Fjord Line AS.     Third-Country Tourists on the Ferries Linking Germany with Lithuania Eleri Jones, Ramunas Povilanskas, Ausrine Armaitiene’ Gediminas Valtas & Egidijus Jurkus Recreation and Tourism Department, Klaipeda University, Lithuania, and Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK Abstract This paper examines third-country passengers’ travel itineraries on the DFDS Seaways ferry route linking Kiel, Germany with Klaipeda, Lithuania using a mixed-methods approach comprising qualitative and quantitative methods, including geographical information system spatial-cluster analysis. Survey results reveal the predominant third- country passenger groups (i.e. passengers from countries other than Germany and Lithuania) on ferries sailing from Kiel to Klaipeda and back were Latvian (28%), Dutch (20%), British (14%) and Danish (12%) nationals; 86% of Latvian passengers used the ferry to travel between home in Latvia and work in Western Europe. Western European passengers comprised a diverse segment of motorized tourists using the ferry in summer to reach the Baltic States faster than by land. The paper highlights the role of the Kiel– Klaipeda ferry route within the Baltic Sea motorized tourism circuit linking the Baltic and Nordic countries with Western Europe. I år anløper de ikke Bergen og cruiset starter fra Danmark. Vi får 2 halvdager på Færøyene og tar utflukter mens båten ligger iro i Torshavn. På Island ligger båten i Seydisfjördur og vi får 2 dager på utflukt i de østlige delene av Island. Dag 1: Trøndelag - Oslo/Frederikshavn smal bukt til havna. Kl. 14.00 er det avreise Avreise fra Trøndelag på morgenen. fra Tórshavn og kursen settes videre nord- Seydisfjördur Turen går sørover Østerdalen frem til over mot Island. Hestur og Sandöy. Når vi kommer tilbake Oslo. Kl. 19.30 avreise med Stena Lines til Torshavn kan vi besøke den gamle ferje til Frederikshavn. Middag ombord Dag 5: Seydisfjördur, Island, utflukt bebyggelse på Tinghaugen like ved kaien. og overnatting i utvendige lugarer. Etter frokost kan vi oppleve innseilingen Vi forlater Torshavn på kvelden og kursen til den lille havnebyen Seydisfjördur som settes sørover mot Danmark. Dag 2: Frederikshavn - Esbjerg/Smyril ligger på østsiden av Island. Vi ankommer Line cruise hit kl 09.00 og ligger her til kl 20.00 neste Dag 8: I sjøen Frokost før ankomst Frederikshavn kl. dag. Following the successful organisation of the 3rd International Stability Workshop on "Contemporary problems of ship stability and operational safety" in 1997 in Crete, a number of prominent colleagues dealing with maritime R&D in Europe and overseas asked NTUA to consider hosting again a series of conferences and meeting events at the beautiful island of Crete. The response was, of course, positive despite of the anticipation of organisational problems related to the uniqueness of this multi- conference. I am very pleased to see you all here, especially those of you who have come from overseas. We are expecting over the next few days close to 200 colleagues and friends from all over Europe, USA and Japan, a clear indication of high expectations and of interesting days ahead. We count among the participants not only internationally recognised experts but also more than 20 young researchers of European academic and industrial institutions thanks to the support of the TMR programme of the European Commission.
