1950’s. Post war Finland – a time to reconstruct. The Sisu radial piston hub motor sees the light of day. Invented by the company Sisu Auto Oy this motor, as part of the wheel hub, gives the timber trucks required extra pull force to survive the extreme road conditions.
Today, Sampo Hydraulics Ltd. is proud to pass on the heritage of this valuable Finnish invention. Our Black Bruin line represents the modern implementation of the original innovation, consisting of two product ranges: LSHT Motors and Rotators. The Black Bruin hydraulic motor is an updated version of the original Sisu motor, with exactly the same working principle by radial pistons pushed against the cam ring. Black Bruin Motors can be found from mobile applications with displacements less than 1000 cm3 to industrial uses in the 10 000+ cm3 range. Due to its compact design and heritage, Black Bruin motor fits perfectly into mobile application, but can as easily be applied as an industrial motor.
Black Bruin Rotators are commonly seen in such lift & turn applications where others just don’t get the job done. Black Bruin rotator design is based on the radial piston motor thus giving the same highly efficient power seen in the motors. The power does not run out and a head or a grapple can be precisely turned to wanted position.
