The Porsche Effect -- Saturday, February 3rd 2018 In celebration of Porsche’s 70th year anniversary and their contributions to automotive engineering and motorsports, The Petersen Automotive Museum will be opening a new exhibit called The Porsche Effect. The Porsche Effect exhibit will be the largest exhibition of Porsche cars outside of Zuffenhausen. This exhibit will display the complete history of Porsche like Rod Emory’s 356 SL, an early 901, a ’73 RS, the Porsche 906 and a 917K. The Porsche Club of America, SGVR will be hosting the first ever Cruise-in to the new Porsche Effect exhibit on opening day. Our day will start at 8:00 AM at the Petersen Museum. Kick tires, swap lies and swat flies with your fellow Porsche enthusiasts. Our Porsche friends will have the unique opportunity to park and exhibit their Porsche cars on the Promenade level of the Petersen parking structure. We will have an exclusive Continental Breakfast catered by Drago Restaurant. The Museum will open its doors at 10:00 AM. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT! Porsche effect and Cruise-in $35 Includes: Your entry to the Promenade Deck for the Porsche Corral parking Continental breakfast, and General admission to the Museum. You will have two other options once you purchase your entry ticket 1. Porsche Highlights Tour $15 -- This is a docent guided Tour of the Porsche Effect on the main concourse. 2. L’evento si svolgerà il 7 ottobre 2014 ed è aperto a tutti i soci LIUT AYRTON SENNA DA SILVA Ayrton Senna, nato a San Paolo, 21 marzo 1960, è considerato uno dei piloti di Formula 1 più forti di tutti i tempi. Ha dimostrato di essere un campione assoluto in condizioni di asciutto, ma anche e soprattutto sul bagnato, riuscendo spesso in imprese entusiasmanti. Coniugava la capacità di portare al limite la propria monoposto con una grande sensibilità nella messa a punto e nella scelta degli pneumatici. Nato in una famiglia benestante dopo l'eccellente trafila nelle formule minori Senna esordì in Formula 1 nel Gran Premio del Brasile 1984 su Toleman-Hart. Nel corso della sua prima stagione diede subito prova di un talento eccezionale, cogliendo per la piccola scuderia inglese risultati mai registrati prima; su tutti il clamoroso secondo posto nel Gran Premio di Monaco, disputatosi sotto un diluvio e interrotto proprio mentre Ayrton stava recuperando oltre sei secondi a giro su Alain Prost, negandogli una vittoria che ormai sembrava sicura. Già in questa gara si manifestarono quindi due costanti della sua carriera: la rivalità con il pilota francese e la sua abilità sotto la pioggia Nel 1985 fu ingaggiato dalla Lotus e alla seconda gara con il team inglese, ottenne la prima vittoria ad Estoril.

Looking forward to getting together as soon as we hear all is well to meet once again. I will be participating in a Zoom meeting with the National Board to cover the guide lines to once again restart our meetings. At this point it it looks promising that we will be able to meet in May. We will put out the information as soon as it is finalized! Tom and I have gotten our Covid injections and our waiting period is over and we have gone out . Last night we met up with Sylvia and Don Harwick at the casino for dinner. We had a great time and it was good to be around people once again. Then today Don called and wanted to come over to our house and another experience we have not had in some time company at our house. This year, the company will be able to look forward to more than two-dozen anniversary dates. It was 70 years ago that Audi history began in Ingolstadt. After the Second World War, the Auto Union AG plants in Saxony were seized under the orders of the Russian military administration and the company was removed from the companies register in Chemnitz in 1948. However, these orders did not apply in the western occupation zones and thus enabled Audi's predecessor company, Auto Union GmbH, to be founded on September 3, 1949 in Ingolstadt. Just ten years later in 1959, the young company brought one of the most modern European vehicle manufacturing facilities of the time into operation. And in the same year, the first DKW Junior rolled off the production line.
