Bahuti Canal Scheme Bahuti Canal Scheme Has Been Proposed to Irrigate 115000 Ha Bahuti Canal Scheme Bahuti Canal Scheme has been proposed to Irrigate 115000 Ha. Land of Rewa & Satna Distt. using the water of Bansagar reservoir by flow and Partial lift. The main canal of Scheme will take off the discharge from reservoir near village Gulwar Gujara of Ramnagar Tehsil of Satna Distt. The main canal of Bahuti is 74 km. long & head discharge is 54 cumecs at its offtake point. The bed level of Bahuti Main Canal has been kept at RL 332.00 meter with full supply level RL 335.85 meter. It is expected that during the year of scanty rain fall the reservoir level of Bansagar Dam may go down below Rl. 335.85 meter (probably in the month January onwards) when requirement of water for Irrigation will be approximately 10 cumecs. To feed the canal in such period provision of pumping arrangement has also been made to lift the water from resevior (from MDDL RL 323.10 meter to the level RL 335.50 meter.) The Pump house for lifting the water for canal discharge has been proposed to be constructed in village Amjhori Ramadhin of Ramnagar Tehsil. The main canal will be feeded by 5.6 km. long feeder or approach chenel The canal bed level of feeder or approach channel has been kept at average RL 338 meter at its starting point. Science College Rewa–486001, Madhya Pradesh e-mail : [email protected],[email protected] [email protected], [email protected] Abstract The paper deals with groundwater quality assessment of Gurh Tehseel, District Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India. Geologically, the area is occupied by sandstone and shale of Rewa Group belonging to Vindhyan Supergroup. The groundwater occurs in semiconfined to confined conditions. Twenty one groundwater samples from the area were collected in pre- monsoon and post-monsoon seasons of 2011 and were subjected to geochemical analysis. The main hydrochemical facies are Ca-Mg-HCO3 and Ca-Mg-SO4-Cl type. The groundwater is hard to very hard in nature. The concentrations of various cations and anions suggest that the groundwater of the area is partially suitable for drinking. The analysis of various parameters like electrical conductivity, sodium percentage, integrated sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and EC, residual sodium carbonate suggest that groundwater of the area is suitable for irrigation. Keywords: Groundwater Quality, Gurh, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India Introduction The groundwater is a precious and reliable natural resource which plays a vital role to cater the demand of water supply arising due to inadequate surface water resources throughout the world. The chemical alteration of the meteoric water depends on several factors such as soil water interaction, dissolution of mineral species, duration of solids – water interaction and anthropogenic impact (Faure, 1998; Subba Rao, 2001).

Water is a very important component of the environment and it sustains life on the earth. Human beings depend on water for their survival. Water is also a raw material for photosynthesis and therefore, is important for crop production. Obviously, an optimum agricultural production depends on water and soil quality. All the results confirm that the ground and surface water quality of Satna was not up to the mark and is slowly degrading even through present condition is not very bad but if same continues in future the ground water source will be completely polluted and become unfit for drinking and other purposes. • PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT Regional Integrated Solid Waste Management Project at Rewa by Rewa MSW Holding Limited
Regional Integrated Solid Waste Management Project at Rewa by Rewa MSW Holding Ltd. Pre-Feasibility Report PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT Regional Integrated Solid Waste Management Project at Rewa by Rewa MSW Holding Limited 1. Executive Summary The current Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management system in Rewa and 27 other surrounding ULB’s currently does not comply with Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP), realizing the necessity of efficient waste management system, wanted to establish an Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Project on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis for management of MSW generated in Rewa Town and 27 other surrounding ULBs (12 ULBs from Rewa District, 12 ULBs from Satna District and 4 ULBs from Sidhi District). The 28 ULBs have entered into an inter-ULB agreement for establishing an “Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Project” on regional basis through public private participation. The participating ULBs have nominated Nagar Palik Nigam Rewa (NPNR) as their lead member and authorized NPNR to select a private party through bidding process. “Rewa MSW Holding Limited (RMSWHL)” was chosen by NPNR for ISWM Project, through bidding process, with a concession period of 21 years. The current waste generation from the 28 ULBs is estimated to be about 340 TPD. However, considering the population forecast and corresponding waste generation, the Project Proponent, Rewa MSW Holding Limited, proposes to establish a 700 TPD Regional Integrated Soild Waste Management Facility in Rewa Town. The proposed ISWM Project will manage different kinds of waste generated in the whole project area, including residential, commercial, expired/rejected branded products (non-hazardous), institutional, hotels, restaurants, markets, marriage halls, gardens, parks, and non-hazardous industrial waste, construction and demolition waste etc.

  • Study on Fish Productivity in Bichhiya River and Govindgarh Lake of District Rewa, Madhya Pradesh
International Journal of Scientific and Research Publications, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2017 522 ISSN 2250-3153 Study on Fish Productivity in Bichhiya River and Govindgarh Lake of district Rewa, Madhya Pradesh Dr. Ajay Kumar Tiwari Department of Zoology, Govt. T. R. S. College, Rewa ABSTRACT Freshwater fish populations are of major ecological and economic importance. Fish play a major economical role in structuring the benthic and zooplanktonic invertebrate communities.Primary productivity is the most important biological phenomenon in nature, which involves the trapping of radiant energy of the sun and its transformation into high potential biochemical energy by the process of photosynthesis. The productivity of freshwater fish species of Bichhiya River and Govindgarh Lake in Rewa district was studied from October 2009 to September 2010. Keywords –Primary Productivity, Bichhiya River and Govindgarh Lake. INTRODUCTION Water is essential for all socioeconomic development and for maintaining healthy ecosystems. Natural surface water bodies like rivers and streams are subjected to pollution comprising of organic and inorganic constituent. [1] Rivers are the most important sources of water to global population. Rivers provide water for industry, agriculture, commercial, aquaculture and domestic purposes. Unfortunately this important source of water is being polluted by indiscriminate disposal of sewage, industrial wastes and plethora of human activities. The significant role played by river in almost in every development programm of country hardly needs many elaborations. Lakes play an important role in the development programmes of country. They can serve as sources of drinking and for industries for agriculture, power development and fisheries. Unfortunately domestic wastes from human settlement and industrial effluents pollute majorities of our lakes and river system.
