Bahuti Canal Scheme Bahuti Canal Scheme has been proposed to Irrigate 65000 Ha. Land of Rewa & Satna Distt. using the water of Bansagar reservoir by flow and Partial lift. The main canal of Scheme will take off the discharge from reservoir near village Gulwar Gujara of Ramnagar Tehsil of Satna Distt. The main canal of Bahuti is 74 km. long & head discharge is 45 cumecs at its offtake point. The bed level of Bahuti Main Canal has been kept at RL 332.00 meter with full supply level RL 335.50 meter. It is expected that during the year of scanty rain fall the reservoir level of Bansagar Dam may go down below Rl. 335.50 meter (probably in the month January onwards) when requirement of water for Irrigation will be approximately 10 cumecs. To feed the canal in such period provision of pumping arrangement has also been made to lift the water from resevior (from MDDL RL 323.10 meter to the level RL 335.50 meter.) The Pump house for lifting the water for canal discharge has been proposed to be constructed in village Amjhori Ramadhin of Ramnagar Tehsil. The main canal will be feeded by 6.3 km. long feeder or approach chenel The canal bed level of feeder or approach channel has been kept at average RL 334 meter at its starting point. ABSTRACT This paper deals with ethno medicinal plants documentation and information which are used by the tribals of Amrpatan tehsil of Satna district on M.P. India. The present study focused to assess the medicinal plant diversity of Mukundpur forest. The plant diversity of this area is quit rich. These plant species are enumerated alphabetically with their botanical name, vernacular name, family, plant parts, used and the way of using them medicinally. A total of medicinal plant 34 species belonging to 28 families are recorded. These tribal people still depend on the medicinal plants were mostly used to cure their diseases and disorders in Amarpatan forest region. The documented ethno medicinal plants were mostly used to cure wound infections, skin infections, stomachache, fever, cough, diabetes diuretics, diarrhea, eye infections and general weakness. Science College Rewa–486001, Madhya Pradesh e-mail : [email protected],[email protected] [email protected], [email protected] Abstract The paper deals with groundwater quality assessment of Gurh Tehseel, District Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India. Geologically, the area is occupied by sandstone and shale of Rewa Group belonging to Vindhyan Supergroup. The groundwater occurs in semiconfined to confined conditions. Twenty one groundwater samples from the area were collected in pre- monsoon and post-monsoon seasons of 2011 and were subjected to geochemical analysis. The main hydrochemical facies are Ca-Mg-HCO3 and Ca-Mg-SO4-Cl type. The groundwater is hard to very hard in nature. The concentrations of various cations and anions suggest that the groundwater of the area is partially suitable for drinking. The analysis of various parameters like electrical conductivity, sodium percentage, integrated sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and EC, residual sodium carbonate suggest that groundwater of the area is suitable for irrigation. Keywords: Groundwater Quality, Gurh, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India Introduction The groundwater is a precious and reliable natural resource which plays a vital role to cater the demand of water supply arising due to inadequate surface water resources throughout the world. The chemical alteration of the meteoric water depends on several factors such as soil water interaction, dissolution of mineral species, duration of solids – water interaction and anthropogenic impact (Faure, 1998; Subba Rao, 2001).
