#CINEMA Every year in mid-July, fans dressed in red celebrate his birthday with liberating songs and dances. Kate Bush is used to long eclipses and knows how to cultivate her mystery. Considered a national treasure in her native England, the gifted musician made her name in 1978, on the eve of her 20th birthday, with the worldwide hit "Wuthering Heights", and a video clip that became cult where, draped in carmine, she set fire to the moor with her arabesques.

It was David Gilmour, the guitarist and singer of Pink Floyd, who discovered this shy young girl with a high-pitched voice, brought up in the countryside, near London, in a musical and bohemian family. He introduced her to his record company, EMI, who took her under his wing on condition that she would learn to play live. For two years, the young girl was confronted with the rough public of the pubs, but also trained in movement, under the guidance of the mime Lindsay Kemp, whose work fascinated her. Perfectionist Kate Bush will soon be back in charge of her career. After a triumphant but trying tour - in which, as a good perfectionist, she settled every detail - she decreed the end of her concerts (she would not return on stage again until 2014).
In passing, this pioneer will have contributed to inventing the micro-headset, which allows her to sing during her choreographies, and the "total" concert with singing, dancing and permutation of sets. This pioneer has never stopped exploring new musical territories, as with the use of the first sampler, which will give the memorable glass break of "Babooshka". Made up of a host of archives and interviews - notably of the musicians who worked with her - this portrait, without dispelling the halo of mystery that surrounds the wild Kate, allows us to discover multiple facets, and explores the immense musical talent of the woman nicknamed the "sound witch".
