An Innovative Method of Weather Modification Roberto Maglione, Cristian Sotgiu Biometeorology and Space Medicine Institute, Ludes University, Lugano, Switzerland
www.orgonenergy.org il portale italiano dedicato all’orgonomia An Innovative Method of Weather Modification Roberto Maglione, Cristian Sotgiu Biometeorology and Space Medicine Institute, Ludes University, Lugano, Switzerland This paper was presented at the VII International Conference on Cosmos and Biosphere: Cosmic Weather and Biological Process, October 1-6, 2007, Sudak, Crimea, Ukraine Abstract First experimental studies of cloud and fog seeding date back to 1919, where Altberg and colleagues at the Central Physical Observatory in Leningrad started experiments both with ice nucleation in supercooled water and with snowflakes growth; on lab fog production; and on cloud seeding with electrically charged sand. In 1934 the Dutch Veraart performed the first studies on seeding clouds with dry ice. Later on in the 1950s, Vonnegut performed the first experiments by seeding clouds with silver iodide with good results. In the last decades, several operations aimed at producing precipitation, controlling hail damage, dispersing of supercooled fog and clouds over airports, and dispersing clouds cover over large areas were carried out by using chemical agents. Diverting hurricanes path was also performed. However, many often the results that were obtained were contrasting and also sometimes an inversion of the tendency in weather conditions was observed with period of intense drought in areas where rainmaking experiments were previously carried out. In parallel, in the 1950s the Austrian scientist Wilhelm Reich started investigating and experimenting a new method of weather modification aimed at restoring the natural functioning of the atmosphere characterised by periodic cycles of rain and clear weather. The fundamental principle of this method, that was called Cloudbusting, is based on the presence in the atmosphere of a pulsatory cosmic energy (called orgone energy) postulated to be responsible for major atmospheric phenomena. -
James Joyce Estate Finally Gives Kate Bush Permission to Use Molly
James Joyce Estate finally gives Kate Bush Permission to use Molly Bloom soliloquy Kluwer Copyright Blog April 18, 2011 Guido Westkamp (Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary, University of London) Please refer to this post as:Guido Westkamp, ‘James Joyce Estate finally gives Kate Bush Permission to use Molly Bloom soliloquy’, Kluwer Copyright Blog, April 18 2011, http://copyrightblog.kluweriplaw.com/2011/04/18/james-joyce-estate-finally-gives-kate-bush-permission-to-us e-molly-bloom-soliloquy/ By Luke McDongagh, PhD Candidate, QMIPRI The Irish Times has recently reported that the Joyce estate has, after many years of refusal, finally granted the English singer Kate Bush permission to use the famous Molly Bloom soliloquy from James Joyce’s seminal novel Ulysses as the lyrical basis for a song. The soliloquy, spoken at the end of the novel by Molly Bloom, the wife of the main character Leopold Bloom, is famous for including one of the longest sentences in the English literature (over 4000 words). Kate Bush was refused permission to use the extract in the original version of her album The Sensual World in 1989. The decision is notable due to the previous unwillingness of the Joyce estate to allow such adaptations of Joycean text. for instance, in 2006, a Stanford Professor, Carol Schloss, was forced to sue the Joyce estate in order to use parts of Joyce’s writings in an academic biography of Joyce’s daughter Lucia. The case was eventually settled with the Joyce estate agreeing to pay Schloss’ costs. It is notable that James Joyce, who died in 1941, used many “appropriations” in the creation of Ulysses; in fact the entire plot of the novel is based on Homer’s Odyssey. -
Full Results of Survey of Songs
Existential Songs Full results Supplementary material for Mick Cooper’s Existential psychotherapy and counselling: Contributions to a pluralistic practice (Sage, 2015), Appendix. One of the great strengths of existential philosophy is that it stretches far beyond psychotherapy and counselling; into art, literature and many other forms of popular culture. This means that there are many – including films, novels and songs that convey the key messages of existentialism. These may be useful for trainees of existential therapy, and also as recommendations for clients to deepen an understanding of this way of seeing the world. In order to identify the most helpful resources, an online survey was conducted in the summer of 2014 to identify the key existential films, books and novels. Invites were sent out via email to existential training institutes and societies, and through social media. Participants were invited to nominate up to three of each art media that ‘most strongly communicate the core messages of existentialism’. In total, 119 people took part in the survey (i.e., gave one or more response). Approximately half were female (n = 57) and half were male (n = 56), with one of other gender. The average age was 47 years old (range 26–89). The participants were primarily distributed across the UK (n = 37), continental Europe (n = 34), North America (n = 24), Australia (n = 15) and Asia (n = 6). Around 90% of the respondents were either qualified therapists (n = 78) or in training (n = 26). Of these, around two-thirds (n = 69) considered themselves existential therapists, and one third (n = 32) did not. There were 235 nominations for the key existential song, with enormous variation across the different respondents. -

What shines through from the very start is how big a fan of Kate's the author is. Costello's art is a celebration of the intellect, with an aggressive use of irony. This is a good biography which I've given three stars rather than four because I'm not sure how much it would interest those not already into its subject. I am strengthened by her determination to do it her way. -

The Globalization of K-Pop: the Interplay of External and Internal Forces
THE GLOBALIZATION OF K-POP: THE INTERPLAY OF EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL FORCES Master Thesis presented by Hiu Yan Kong Furtwangen University MBA WS14/16 Matriculation Number 249536 May, 2016 Sworn Statement I hereby solemnly declare on my oath that the work presented has been carried out by me alone without any form of illicit assistance. All sources used have been fully quoted. (Signature, Date) Abstract This thesis aims to provide a comprehensive and systematic analysis about the growing popularity of Korean pop music (K-pop) worldwide in recent years. On one hand, the international expansion of K-pop can be understood as a result of the strategic planning and business execution that are created and carried out by the entertainment agencies. On the other hand, external circumstances such as the rise of social media also create a wide array of opportunities for K-pop to broaden its global appeal. The research explores the ways how the interplay between external circumstances and organizational strategies has jointly contributed to the global circulation of K-pop. The research starts with providing a general descriptive overview of K-pop. Following that, quantitative methods are applied to measure and assess the international recognition and global spread of K-pop. Next, a systematic approach is used to identify and analyze factors and forces that have important influences and implications on K-pop’s globalization. The analysis is carried out based on three levels of business environment which are macro, operating, and internal level. PEST analysis is applied to identify critical macro-environmental factors including political, economic, socio-cultural, and technological. -

Born on April 4, 1920 in South Ockendon, Robert John Bush worked hard to win a scholarship to the Grammar School at Grays, and later won a place at medical school to become a doctor. He married Hannah Bush in early 1943. Together they had three children: John Carder Bush (1944), Paddy Bush (1952) and Kate (1958). His voice can be heard in the song The Fog, in the extended version of The Big Sky (The Meteorological Mix) and also among the voices calling to the heroine of The Ninth Wave between the songs Under Ice and Waking The Witch. KT Bush Band. Band formed in 1977 by Brian Bath, Vic King, Del Palmer and Kate Bush. After practicing in Greenwich and East Wickham Farm, they made their live debut in April 1977 at the Rose Of Lee in Lewisham. The set list consisted of standards like Come Together, 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine', 'Tracks Of My Tears', but also early versions of Kate Bush songs like James And The Cold Gun, Saxophone Song and Them Heavy People. The peculiar discourse that arises from this kind of emphasis leads to a mesmerising and occasionally amusing line of progression endowing the book with a highly ramified structure, almost in itself an example of a maximalist procedure. -

In Author a new series, our authors nominate their favourites. David McCooey Professor of Writing and Literature, Deakin University Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love (1985) was the first album I heard on CD. With its use of the Fairlight CMI (a digital synthesizer/sampler workstation), digital reverb, and drum machines, it was perhaps eminently suitable for the CD format. But under its shiny digital sound, Hounds of Love was very much an LP, as seen in its two-part structure. Side one, Hounds of Love, covers themes characteristic of Bush: intimacy and its limits (Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) and The Big Sky); familial love (albeit darkly articulated in Mother Stands for Comfort); and the intensity and ambivalence of sexual desire (Hounds of Love). Meanwhile, side two comprises of The Ninth Wave, a song cycle about a woman who has fallen into the sea at night, with only the “little light” of her life jacket to guide her.
