From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

On Friday evening, I attended the vigil for Ashawntie Brown at 6:00 pm in the stadium who tragically passed away a couple of weeks ago due to a medical issue. It was very cold and dark but many people were there. Ex-football players, several faculty members, alumni, current students, and family members spoke. Someone asked what Ashawantie would say when confronted with a challenge or difficult circumstance. He would pick himself up and stay tough was one reply. I gained a great appreciation for the strength of the Gator community and the pride they felt from being Gators.

A week ago, our Dance Company went to the State High School Dance Showcase held at Goucher College. During the day they explored the campus, took master classes with professional teachers, and met dancers from around the state. That evening, they performed a piece choreographed by the students on Goucher's stage. The dance program is growing at Perry Hall and we are so proud of the poise, adaptability, and positive energy exhibited by the students. Kudos to Ms. Soule and Ms. Krall and the company members for their hard work.

I am offering the opportunity to meet with the principal and the administrator in charge of safety at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th before the PTSA meeting in the library to discuss the parking lot fight and safety and security at Perry Hall High School.
