Dear Parents,

On Friday 3/9/18 our school ran the culture convention where 150 elementary students from Joppa View Elementary School experienced cultural lessons set up in our gym by our high school students. It was a pleasure to see so many students having fun while they learned about the world. Kudos to Ms. Cox and members of the World Language Department for their work.

This was a week for highlighting school achievements as well as opportunities to demonstrate the diversity of programs we offer at Perry Hall. Dr. Lipinski, a member

of the science department, was named as a BCPS Teacher of the Year finalist this week. She really deserves the recognition. Senior Chuck Odunze was honored with his family at the Annual Scholar Athlete Awards dinner at Martin's West on Tuesday. Chuck is a football player with a 4.0 GPA and a great role model. Members of the Perry Hall FBLA Chapter traveled to the State conference this weekend with Ms. Scala to compete in a number of events, Business Ethics, Social Media Marketing, and participate in the transition of state officers. Senior Rachel Calimer is a current State Officer. Those competing with her are:

Danielle Wenig Jessica Bisaha Lindsey Calimer Akshay Kapur Veena Jith Sahithi Buddula

The students listed below have the honor of being invited to participate in the All State Band and Orchestra Festival from Friday through Sunday.

Cory Lewis Dennis Bailey Alex Duong Nicholas Hamilton Ciara Franklin Alexis Arthur Nyante Mckenzie Jenna Sciuto Rachel Nguyen Jade Chen

Also, good luck to the many Perry Hall students will be performing this coming week in the BCPS Orchestra Festival.

I am writing this message late on Saturday night upon returning from the Xfinity Center at the University of Maryland after witnessing our Boys' Varsity Team win their second State Championship in a row. They defeated Blandensburg HS 56-52 in a very exciting and close game. Quite an amazing achievement. Kudos to the team and coaches, especially Coach Panageotou.

All the aforementioned students and staff speak to the levels of success that Perry Hall High School is achieving. It makes me proud to know that I may have a small impact on Perry Hall.
