The Marilyn J. Praisner Active Adult 55+ program offers an opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy recreational, educational, and cultural activities. The program offers something for every senior, such as health Senior Program and wellness education, on-site movies, games, arts & crafts, guest Coordinator: speakers, entertainers, and fitness activities. New faces are always Ms. Carol Brown welcome. Senior Program Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the senior lounge from 10am—2pm Hours: for coffee, tea and light snacks and to share your talents or just your Tuesdays & Thursdays company! Free transportation to and from the center is available on 10:00 AM —2 PM Thursdays (Only) for those living in the service area. She originally came up with the idea of a mechanical dishwash- er that would hold dishes in a rack while pressurized water sprayed them clean. 2. The first female self-made millionaire in the , she developed her own line of hair care products specifically designed for African Ameri can hair. 3. She was the first American woman in space aboard the space shuttle chal- lenger. 4. An astronaut and physician, she was the first African American woman to travel into space when she served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour. 5. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences, and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. Activist 1.
