Autumn Wine The sweltering days and hot nights of summer are definitely behind us. We are now awaiting the colorful turning of the leaves, enjoying the cool breeze of Fall and relishing the first opportunities to don a sweater and our favorite scarf. We also switch gears with regards to what we pour in our glasses. Autumn is a perfect time to sip more restrained and elegant red wines, wines that evoke the season and pair beautifully with what our kitchen has to offer. See below for outstanding examples of one of the more perfect grapes for the season: Gamay. Be it in the form of a terrific Cru Beaujolais or in a blend from Burgundy, this little grape is the foundation for some of the more pleasurable wines to drink today.
