Christ is risen! Following in the Footsteps of Holy Family. Spring is the time of the year when the drudgery of Lent yields to the new life of Easter. While the focus rests on Christ, the season highlights the life of perhaps his two greatest companions, Mary and Joseph. Lent makes a reprieve to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph on March 19, while May is the Month of Mary. Join our parish mission as we look past the legends of these two individuals to discover the virtues of the earthly parents of Christ that surface from reading of Scripture. Through their lives, we too can find guidance in how to relate to a God who escapes our understanding. Father Thomas More Garrett, OP, is a Dominican (Order of Preachers) priest at Saint Vincent Ferrer in Manhattan, where he serves as the associate executive director of the Dominican Friars Foundation, and as associate director of the John Paul II Society.
