To the ground floor there are three reception rooms, one which is used as a guest bedroom when required, kitchen/breakfast room, utility area and a cloakroom. Whilst to the first floor there are three bedrooms, a bathroom and an additional shower room. To the second floor is a further bedroom. Outside there is a detached double garage and paved rear garden with mature plant and shrub beds. To the front the good sized garden is laid mainly to lawn with a variety of plants, trees and shrubs. The Drive is one of Chestfield's premier roads with nearby sporting facilities including an 18-hole golf course, rugby and cricket clubs. Chestfield also offers a popular public house/restaurant, railway station and doctors surgery. Our Time Here South Tythe Barn has been a wonderful family home for us, our children, and grandchildren. It is set in the historic heart of a thriving village and conservation area, with easy access by car or bus to the ancient cathedral town of Canterbury, with its lively shopping and activities; and within 10 minutes drive to Whitstable, a seaside town and artists centre, with shopping, festivals, and restaurants South Tythe Barn is a Grade II listed property on the site of an ancient barn listed in the Domesday Book, and attached to the neighbouring residence North Tythe Barn. Certain features date back to the 17th century, and others were incorporated from an old priory at the time of its conversion to a home. Wooden beams, panelling, stained glass windows, a high hall with its own owl house (no longer occupied!) are some of the features which give the house its character. This is a graceful and spacious family home; four bedrooms, two bathrooms, main sitting room, dining room, and the small sitting room which doubles as a comfortable guest bedroom. The kitchen is spacious, with a large dining table, for instance, which comfortably seats a family of 8 when required, with a couple of toddlers also squeezed in! There is a separate double garage, well maintained, and as old as the house’s conversion. There are two entrances to South Tythe Barn, to the front and rear of the property, both with attractive access to neighbours and the small private roads to front and rear. The gardens are well stocked with shrubs, roses, clematis, philadelphus, hollyhocks, winter and summer jasmine - and more, as well as self seeding annuals, and fruit trees, and birds. There is a working shed cum office with mains electricity and phone, and a smaller garden shed for pots and packets and garden equipment. The Clerk explained if the Council is unable to elect a Cllr into the position of Chairman then Cllrs need to elect a Chairman at each meeting in order to chair that meeting.     CANTERBURY & COASTAL LIBERAL DEMOCRATS Canterbury City Council Re-warding proposals Canterbury & Coastal Liberal Democrats are concerned that plans to reduce the number of City Councillors from 50 to 38 (+/-1) will reduce democratic accountability and further discourage public engagement with the Council. However, we recognise that the decision to make this change has now been taken and new wards need to be devised. In drawing up our proposals we have of course been mindful of the guidance issued by The Local Government Boundary Commission for England and have additionally attempted to apply the following principles; Local community identities must be respected and artificial splits should not be introduced just so a particular pattern of representation (i.e. all single member wards or all multi-member wards) can be accommodated. We have done our best to avoid splitting Parish Council areas and in fact have reunited some that have up till now been spread over two wards. We have tried to retain as many current ward boundaries as possible. At a time when public engagement with local government is at a low level, we believe that unnecessary changes to ward boundaries and identities can only be a further disincentive to participation in elections. Keeping changes to boundaries and polling districts to a minimum is also of benefit to the City Council and political parties. In urban 3-member wards we have tried to stay close to existing boundaries and reduce to 2-members. Rural wards should be manageable. Multi-member wards in some rural areas would be larger than County Council divisions and could include 12 Parish Councils.

Frustration was expressed over the time taken for the legal advice that had been sought and it was suggested a different approach be used in future. There was some discussion as to where LPC could go from here with regard to access and the land ownership.     A safer, more sustainable and more resilient highway network Appendix C Forward Works Programme 2021/22 to 2025/26 1 Introduction This document sets out our five-year Forward Works Programme for the years 2021/22 to 2025/26. It reflects the need to move away from annual programmes and to consider asset management activity a multi-year one. It is in two parts: the first concerns the next two years (2021/22 - 2022/23), and most of the sites included have already been verified by our engineers. The second part relates to years three to five of our five-year programme (2023/24 - 2025/26), and is largely based on data from our asset management systems, so may be subject to more changes as the schemes are verified. Any schemes involving the potential use of non-standard materials, such as those in conservation areas, or requiring detailed design will remain in the second part until those elements have been resolved and agreed, so that there is cost certainty prior to any commitment to deliver on the ground. This programme is subject to regular review and may change for a number of reasons including budget allocation, contract rate changes, conflicting works and to reflect our changing priorities. The programme and extent of individual sites within the programme may also be revised following engineering assessment during the design phase, and additional sites may be added or others advanced if their condition deteriorates rapidly so that we need to react in order to keep the highway in a safe and serviceable condition.

    Canopy Cover Assessment Kent Districts and Medway Executive Summary Canopy cover describes the area covered by a tree or shrub when viewed from above, including the leaves, branches and stem. Canopy cover is a two-dimensional metric, which can be used to quantify the spread of tree cover across an area, this method, however, does not measure understory vegetation. Assessing the spatial extent of a district and establishing a baseline dataset is an important step in the management of our natural environment and can assist planners, policy makers, foresters and communities to recognise the benefits provided by green infrastructure and its importance in community planning, sustainability and resilience. This dataset may be used to target resources to the areas that most need it. This study estimates tree canopy cover in Kent’s Districts using BlueSky data and the i-Tree analysis and assessment tool. Estimates of canopy cover for each ward, as well as each district’s total were calculated. The results provide a snapshot of current tree canopy cover and a baseline for comparison with future surveys. The average canopy cover of Kent and Medway is estimated at 17% and the canopy cover of the districts are as follows.
