Audience participation is encouraged as dancers bring guests to the floor! We will return to our hotel after a fun evening together. (D) TUESDAY, JULY 13 - A full hot breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. We depart the hotel at 8:45 a.m. for a scenic drive towards Bowling Green today! This morning, we will start our day in a “classic” way as we enjoy a tour of the National Corvette Museum! Since 1994, this museum is dedicated to America’s favorite sports car. Enjoy seeing these classics from days gone by, to the current models, which are made at the GM plant right down from the museum. This visit will get us all in gear! After our tour, we will load our motorcoach and will continue to the Louisville, Kentucky area. We will break for a lunch stop (on your own) and arrive at our hotel later this afternoon, with time to unpack and relax. After time to freshen up, we will enjoy a fun evening as we board the Belle of Louisville Riverboat to enjoy a Captain’s Dinner (included) as we cruise on the Ohio River together! Our group will have access to the entire paddle wheeler, so please go see the engine room, then head to the Pilot House for the best view of the river! As we enjoy our cruise, we will also savor a delicious catered dinner on board. This will be a memorable first night in Louisville that we won’t soon forget. After we finish our dinner cruise, we will meet our motorcoach back at the dock and return to our hotel for the next three nights. (B, D) WEDNESDAY, JULY 14 - A deluxe breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. We depart at 9 a.m., to make our way to the Muhammed Ali Center! We will enjoy a fascinating tour with interactive exhibits, archive films and personal artifacts of “The Greatest.” Muhammed Ali left us an enduring legacy to overcome obstacles and be the best at everything you do, and we will see that first-hand today. After our tour here, we will transfer to the Hermitage Thoroughbred Museum, which is a world class equine operation where champion thoroughbreds are born and nursed. These “soon to be” racehorses are just learning how to run. We will enjoy watching the horses together, in the Kentucky Bluegrass. By this time we will have worked up on appetite, so we will transfer to enjoy lunch (included) at the Claudia Sanders Dinner House. This restaurant is a replica of the elegant, old home opened by Colonel Sanders of KFC fame, so you know it will be a great meal. Next, we will head back towards the downtown area to enjoy an afternoon tour of Stoneware and Company, a true Louisville business legend! One of the oldest stoneware manufacturers in the United States. Stoneware has been dedicated to the tradition and careful craftsmanship of transforming clay into enduring, functional art forms for the home, kitchen and garden since 1815. We will have a chance to take some of their work home, with a visit to their factory store. After a day full of Kentucky wonders, we will head back to our hotel for some time to freshen up. Tonight, our group will transfer to “Restaurant Row” near our hotel, to enjoy your choice of great Louisville restaurants for dinner (on your own) this evening. We will hand out a listing of great choices, so take it all in and enjoy your evening with friends! (B, L) THURSDAY, JULY 15 - A deluxe breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. After breakfast, we will load and transfer to the most famed horse track in America, Churchill Downs, home of the famous Kentucky Derby! Our group will learn first-hand about the Derby – how it grew into a worldwide attraction, the horses, trainers and everything that goes into making this such a unique American event. We will have tickets to enjoy their world class museum. We will see a new multi-screen film that will make us feel like we are in the race. After our time at the museum, we will get a unique behind the scenes tour of the stables. Be sure to bring your cameras! While we are at Churchill Downs, we will enjoy a picnic lunch (included) on site. This will be a great first half of our day, celebrating a Louisville tradition! After our time at the track, we will load up and enjoy the second half of our day, as we embark on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail! Enjoy a scenic ride through the rolling hills of the Bluegrass Countryside. We will have reservations to tour one of Kentucky’s premiere bourbon distilleries for an expert guided tour! We will learn about the history of bourbon and see the process in which it is made, practiced much as it was 200 years ago. After our tour, there will be an opportunity to taste the finished product and give it your own grade! Also, we will have time to enjoy their gift shop, which is stocked with many unique items that are made in Kentucky. After our bourbon distillery tour, we will load our motorcoach and make our way back to our hotel. After time to freshen up and relax, we will depart for dinner (on your own) at a favorite local restaurant near downtown. There will be several great choices for your meal. After dinner, we will return to our hotel. (B, L) FRIDAY, JULY 16 – This morning we enjoy breakfast included at the hotel. We will gather our luggage and our Kentucky gifts, and depart the Louisville area at 8:30 a.m. to begin our journey homeward.
