Thank you all for the tremendous support and participation in all events in the past month and the whole year. It is an immense pleasure and honor to be writing this message. “A temple is a state of mind. A temple is a place of tranquility and peace. A temple is the essence that sustains our day-to- day existence.” It is hard to believe that Three years have passed since I began my tenure in the Executive board and served as President. I consider myself very fortunate and proud to be working with a talented group of people who are very devoted and extremely capable. We all have one goal in mind and that is to take this Mandir to new heights. Thank you all for your continued support. We are very fortunate to be part of a vibrant congregation that offers a myriad of opportunities for us to connect and join together with other members; whether it's praying, singing bhajan’s along with the beautiful enchanting melodies of Amritvani or Hanuman Chalisa. Together we can make a Difference. We are a volunteer-driven organization and we encourage member participation on every level, including leadership, planning, demonstrating and execution. In the process the Temple becomes what has been described a “spiritual playground.” Without dedicated volunteers, a non-profit organization cannot run smoothly or organize events and we are very grateful to our regular volunteers. As that being said, we need more members to sign up for Prasad/food coordination, setup and clean up on Sunday’s, Tuesday’s, festival days and during special events. The Temple is a vital part of our community - it enriches our lives culturally, religiously and imparts religious values to our children. We urge every community member to take responsibility and take ownership in the growth and beautification of our Temple. We respectfully urge every devotee to donate generously to Hari Om Mandir. Donations to the Temple are fully tax deductible. Your regular visit to the temple is very important to us. We want you, your family and friends to participate and volunteer in temple programs and events. I am glad to say that, all major religious events have been celebrated with great community participation. Naming a few events; Akhand Ramayan Path, Lohri, Maha Shivratri, Hanuman Jayanthi, Mandir Anniversary & Baisakhi, Navratre Jagran, Holi, Annual Picnic, Youth Night, Krishna Janamatami and spiritual discourses by Dr. Ram Kamla Vedanti ji, Dr. Swami Arjun Puri ji Maharaj, Dr. Swami Shashwatanand ji Maharaj Kirtan by Didi Rameshwari Devi ji and Vashisth Bandhu brothers. Hari Om Mandir is continuously growing and the management team is dedicatedly working to facilitate the need of our devotees to make the mandir a peaceful and unique place of devotion. To accomplish projects, temple needs continuous support from everybody. The Fundraising account is open until 31 st December, 2015. You can contribute by various ways like donating for a leaf in the Family tree, Marble Tile, Annual Membership, Life Membership, Tile at Hanuman Murti etc. No donation is small; every bit of donation counts a lot for the growth of our Mandir. I must thank everybody with gratitude. Thank you all for your support and trust shown in me during my tenure. I pray to Mata Rani to keep all devotees of our Hari Om Parivar healthy & happy. With warm regards and Service to God and Community. !! Jai Mata Di !! Indrajit Sarkar, President Message from Chairman. Amritsar Printed at: Printwell 146, Industrial Focal Point, Amritsar Dedication This Humble effort to describe Shri Guru Nanak Dev's Life, Travels and Teachings is dedicated to the great saint of twentieth century, Bhagat Puran Singh, founder of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd.) Amritsar. It was due to his blessings when I met him in July 1991 that an ignorant person like me could study and understand Gurbani and write about the Guru' teachings. Bhagat Puran Singh was a great soul and even now, he guides and removes suffering of those who help his mission of running Pingalwara. I have seen that in many cases, when some people sent donations with full faith, their diseases were cured and problems solved.

Nearly five hundred guests attended the events on Parliament Hill and thousands more had the opportunity to watch, via live stream, from across Canada and around the world. The celebration began on the morning of Saturday April 8th 2017 with an Akhand Paath. On Monday April 10th, the Bhog was followed by a Kirtan and then Langar for all those who attended. The evening program was a Vaisakhi Cultural Reception that featured an Indigenous Drumming Circle by a group of Indigenous Elders, and a Bhangra performance by a dance group from British Columbia. In traditional style, the evening concluded with Punjabi music and dancing. “Last year, the focus of Vaisakhi on the Hill was to celebrate the vibrant contributions of Sikhs to Canada over the last 150 years. This year, Vasaikhi on the Hill integrated the principles of Sikhism with Canadian values and highlights how we can contribute more to Canada in the 150 years to come.” said MP Ruby Sahota. “Annual events like this allow us to share our culture, traditions and language with all Canadians, while upholding and exemplifying the tenets of Sikhism - Naam Japo, Kirat Karo, and Vand Chakko.” Once again, the Vaisakhi celebrations, which were organized by the Sikh Members of Parliament, received praise from the Sikh communities from around the world. -30- For media inquiries, please contact: Karen Gill Tel: 613-995-4843 Email: [email protected] .
