Clause 5 in Report No. 10 of Committee of the Whole was adopted by the Council of The Regional Municipality of York at its meeting held on June 23, 2016 with the following additional recommendation: 3. NEWS Ministry of Transportation Ontario Partners with Business to Build New Etobicoke GO Station Improving the transit experience and making life easier for Ontarians October 25, 2018 8:00 A.M. TORONTO — Ontario's Government for the People is keeping its promise to build transit and make Ontario open for business by working with the private sector to build commuters a new, modern station at Mimico GO. This station is the product of a new kind of partnership. This project will optimize the use of government-owned land and increase transit ridership by building a new development along an existing transit line. We are improving the transit experience and making life easier for Ontarians. Today John Yakabuski, Minister of Transportation, Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Kinga Surma, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation, Christine Hogarth, MPP, Etobicoke-Lakeshore, and Phil Verster, President and CEO, Metrolinx, visited the Mimico GO Station to announce that Ontario had signed a non-binding Letter of Intent with Vandyk Group of Companies. Metrolinx and Vandyk will negotiate the construction of a new Mimico GO Station. "We are making it easier for people commuting in the GTHA," said Minister Yakabuski. "The new station we are building at Mimico is part of our plan to improve service on the Lakeshore West line to every 15 minutes or better. By working with businesses to develop this site, we are delivering on our promise that Ontario is open for business, while we get this work done at a lower cost to the taxpayer." The new Mimico GO Station will include a new, accessible station building, pedestrian tunnels and elevators, refurbished platforms and new entrances to the station and below grade parking. -

Acknowledgments The site of Exhibition Place has had a long tradition as a gathering place. Given its location on the water, these lands would have attracted Indigenous populations before recorded history. We acknowledge that the land occupied by Exhibition Place is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. Figure 1. First Capital - Park Lawn GO Station 95% Draft Final Environmental Project Report Executive Summary ES Section 1- Introduction and Project Overview First Capital (Park Lawn) Corporation (FCR) has proposed the new Park Lawn GO Station to be developed in partnership with Metrolinx, located at the north end of 2150 Lake Shore Boulevard West in the City of Toronto (“the Project”). Hatch was retained by FCR to undertake an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Park Lawn GO Station on the Lakeshore West rail corridor. The evaluation of environmental impacts of the proposed Park Lawn GO Station has been carried out in accordance with the Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP). The TPAP is regulated by the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) under Ontario Regulation 231/08 - Transit Projects and Metrolinx Undertakings (O. Reg. 231/08). The purpose of the TPAP is to ensure effects associated with the Project are clearly identified and mitigated to the greatest extent feasible. -

Bolton Residential Expansion Study (BRES) and Successful Integration of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) May 24, 2016 The purpose of this memorandum is to review the professional literature pertaining to the potential develop- ment of a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) in the Bolton Residential Expansion Study area, in response to the Region of Peel’s recent release of the Discussion Paper. The Discussion Paper includes the establishment of evaluation themes and criteria, which are based on provincial and regional polices, stakeholder and public comments. It should be noted that while the Discussion Paper and the Region’s development of criteria does not specifi- cally advocate for TOD, it is the intent of this memorandum to illustrate that TOD-centric planning will not only adequately address such criteria, but will also complement and enhance the Region’s planning principles, key points and/or themes found in stakeholder and public comments. In the following are research findings related to TOD generally, and specifically, theMetrolinx Mobility Hub Guidelines For The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (September 2011) objectives. Additionally, following a review and assessment of the “Response to Comments Submitted on the Bolton Residential Expansion Study ROPA” submission prepared by SGL Planning & Design Inc. (March 15, 2016), this memorandum evaluates some of the key arguments and assumptions made in this submission relative to the TOD research findings. Planning for Transit-Oriented Developments TOD policy and programs can result in catalytic development that creates walkable, livable neighborhoods around transit providing economic, livability and equitable benefits. The body of research on TODs in the United States has shown that TODs are more likely to succeed when project planning takes place in conjunction with transit system expansion. -

" Acoustic Community on Toronto Island Charlotte Scott Supervisor: Professor Michael Murphy Joint Graduate Programme in Communication & Culture Ryerson University - York University Toronto, Ontario, Canada September 7, 2006 Abstract "Well, listen. .. "is a sound composition about the acoustic community of Toronto Island and Toronto Harbour. The project explores how people create and experience acoustic community, how perceptions of the soundscape are related to attitudes about nature and culture, and how power relationships are articulated through sound. The project is based in environmental cultural studies and in sound ecology, notably the work of Williams (1973), Schafer (1977), Westerkamp (2002) and Truax (1984), and concludes seven months of soundwalks, interviews, composition, editing and field research. Participants discussed the soundscape of Toronto Island, noise pollution in Toronto Harbour and the relationship between sound, community and ecology. These interviews were edited and re-assembled in a manner inspired by the contrapuntal voice compositions of Glenn Gould. Field recordings reflect the complex mix of natural, social, and industrial sounds that make up the soundscape of the harbour, and document the acts of sound walking and deep listening that are the core methods of soundscape research. The composition creates an imaginary aural space that integrates the voices and reflections of the Island's acoustic community with the contested soundscape of their island home. The project paper outlines the theory and methods that informed the sound composition, and further explores the political economy of noise pollution, especially in relation to the Docks nightclub dispute and to current research in sound ecology.
