RCAFA 783 Newsletter May 2014 COMEDY CORNER Holy Land Tour A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation in Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her buried here in the Holy Land for $150 or we can have her shipped back home for $5,000." The husband thought about it and told the undertaker he would have her shipped back home. The undertaker asked him, "Why would you spend $5,000 to have her shipped home when you could have a beautiful burial here, and it would only cost $150????" The husband replied, "Long ago, a man died here, was buried here, and three days later, rose from the dead. I just can’t take that chance!" The Wit of Scots A Greek and a Scotsman were sitting in a Starbucks cafe discussing who had the superior culture. Over triple lattes the Greek guy says, "Well we Greeks built the Parthenon" and arched his eyebrows. The Scotsman replies, "Well ... it was the Scots that discovered the Summer and Winter Solstices." The Greek retorts, "We Greeks gave birth to advanced mathematics." The Scotsman, nodding in agreement says, "Scots were the ones who built the first timepieces and calendars." And so on until the Greek comes up with what he thinks will end the discussion. With a flourish of finality he says, "The Greeks were the ones who invented sex!" The Scotsman replies, "Aye, that is true, but it was we Scots who introduced it to the women!" Quotes “Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.” Anonymous “There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.” Oscar Levant “When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. A best friend will be in the cell next to you saying, 'Damn, that was fun'.” Groucho Marx “Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.” Terry Pratchett “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” C.S. Lewis “Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.” Mark Twain “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” Albert Einstein “Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood.” Oscar Wilde Page 3 of 4

Life Thoughts  I've just opened a new restaurant called Karma. There's no menu, we just give you what you deserve.  I had a dream I was a muffler and I woke up exhausted.  Today I gave my dead batteries away....Free of charge.  Never give up on your dreams, keep sleeping.  Silence is golden, Duct tape is silver  What happens when you get scared half to death twice?  I know some jokes about unemployment but they need some work.  If money doesn’t grow on trees why do banks have branches?  Why do we cook bacon and bake cookies?  "When I die, I want my tombstone to be a WiFi hotspot...... that way people visit more often."  A police recruit was asked during the exam, "What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?" He said, "Call for backup."
