  • 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program
____________________ Comments about 4B$ plan for Baltimore Metropolitan Jun. 09 Lori Franceschi [email protected] To: Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC) [email protected] There's a lot of stuff I could say, but really, the thing that stands out the most is: Basically none of this money is for improving stuff INSIDE Baltimore. Is that correct? Who cares about highways, and all the crap? The roads in the city are enough to damage most vehicles. There is no rail; and 4b$ would fund that. Very upset and from my perspective, total waste of public funding, since it has a negative impact on living inside the city. ____________________ Fwd: Environmental Concerns Brian Seel [email protected] To: Baltimore Metropolitan Council (BMC) [email protected] I am just going to resend the comments from last year, which you seemed to ignore. This plan is awful. ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ Forwarded message ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ From: Brian Seel <[email protected]> Date: Wed, Jun 17, 2020 at 10:06 AM Subject: Environmental Concerns To: <[email protected]> Its 2020, and we are still rolling out millions of dollars for projects that will expand roads, and encourage driving, but are allocating just a few million for bike projects, and a bit more for generally unconnected transit projects that will do very little to move the needle on getting people to use alternatives to driving. This document is a plan for how we will move forward over the next few years, and it is basically doubling down on the 1950's car and highway mentality. While climate change is not as steep of a curve as COVID, its still a looming crisis, and many of these projects will be around and in use 50 years from now.

  • Northeast Corridor Capital Investment Plan Fiscal Years 2020-2024
Northeast Corridor Capital Investment Plan Fiscal Years 2020-2024 March 2019 Congress established the Northeast Corridor Commission to develop coordinated strategies for improving the Northeast’s core rail network in recognition of the inherent challenges of planning, financing, and implementing major infrastructure improvements that cross multiple jurisdictions. The expectation is that by coming together to take collective responsibility for the NEC, these disparate stakeholders will achieve a level of success that far exceeds the potential reach of any individual organization. The Commission is governed by a board comprised of one member from each of the NEC states (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland) and the District of Columbia; four members from Amtrak; and five members from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The Commission also includes non- voting representatives from freight railroads, states with connecting corridors and several commuter operators in the Region. • 1 Acht Subcommittee on Training and Awareness Final
ACHT SUBCOMMITTEE ON TRAINING AND AWARENESS FINAL REPORT Disclaimer: This report does not comprehensively provide all current training and awareness materials being used by the transportation sector stakeholders in the United States. Rather, it is a compilation of such training and awareness materials currently known to the Training and Awareness Subcommittee members, highlighted by the broader USDOT ACHT Committee members, or obtained through research by the subcommittee members. At the public hearing, audience participants were encouraged to submit any additional information on training and awareness not delineated in the draft report for consideration and inclusion. The Training and Awareness Subcommittee members acknowledge that due to the time constraints of the report, the members were not able to conduct comprehensive research. This report therefore purports to set forth a representative sample of the current training and awareness materials within the United States, as well as knowledge gaps, and recommendations with the aforementioned restrictions. INTRODUCTION In 2012, The Department of Transportation (DOT) created a transportation industry stakeholder group called Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking (TLAHT). TLAHT called on all transportation sector leaders — including trucking, airlines, buses, truck stops, railroads and ports — to commit to employee education and raising public awareness about human trafficking, much of which takes place along the nation’s transportation networks. In response, leaders in these various industries pledged to work together to fight human trafficking through training employees to recognize and report signs of human trafficking, and raising awareness of human trafficking issues among the traveling public. To fulfill its mission, TLAHT launched a major human trafficking awareness campaign, titled “Put the Brakes on Human Trafficking.” For some transportation stakeholders, this public awareness campaign served to enhance existing anti- human trafficking initiatives that they were already employing.
