    • • SPOONEYE! First dpcumented as "Thirt y-Fours" in a 1571 British list of injunctions, the modern form of the game developed aboard pirate ships sailing in rhe Caribbean in the late 17th centuty. The game's most nOlOrious enthusiast was none other than the rllthless pirate Spooneye, who had a spoon in the place of a lost hand due to a fo ndness for soups, :iIld who, owing to ext reme myopia in one eye (the right, it is believed), would often cover the bad eye with his spoon-hand in order to focus. During the infamous double mutiny fad of the 1690s, (itself immortalized in the gaIlle, as weI! as numernus ballads,) Spooneye learned of Thirty Fours from the crew fo rmerly belonging to his mortal enemy, the nefarious Danish privateer Weirdbeard. Legend has it that the most powerful card in the game, the Nine, or 'Spooneye', originated when Spooneye was engaged in a ame with his ship's new cook (name unknown). Fnlstrated at his own poor performance, Spoon eye played a Nine-his favorite card, due to the rcsemulance-and then grabbed one of the cook's cards and placed it on his side of the table. Justifiably angty, the cook argued that rhis was not part of the rules: in rhe origi nal Thirty-fours, Nines grant no special privilege. Spooneye, in response, leaped out of his chair and gouged out the unfortunate cook's left eye with his mighty spoon-hand. Most accounts suggesr thar the cook was keelhauled after the game; some (possibly apoctyphal) accounts suggest that it was this cook who later became the despised buccaneer Disheye.

  • Kid Friendly Card Games Beyond Go Fish
Kid Friendly Card Games Beyond Go Fish SPOONS: you need a standard deck of cards with no Jokers, spoons-one fewer than there are players, good for any number of players. Objective: The winner is the last player remaining. How to Play: Arrange the spoons in a small circle in the center of the table and deal four cards to each player. Each player tries to make four of a kind. The dealer takes a card off the top of the deck to have five cards in his hand, removes one and passes it facedown to the left. Each player discards to the person on his left. The last player places his discard into a trash pile. Cards are picked up and passed quickly around the table until someone gets four of a kind and takes a spoon from the center. Once the player with four of a kind takes a spoon, anyone can take a spoon. The player left without a spoon is out. If at any time the draw cards run out, pause to reshuffle the trash pile and keep going. Remove one spoon at the start of each hand so that there is always 1 fewer spoons than players. The fun part: The player who reaches four of a kind first has a variety of ways he can take the first spoon. A sneaky pull exposes those paying too close attention to their cards. A demonstrative grab leads to a wild free-for-all. Either way, it's hilarious. SNAP: use a standard deck of cards. Objective: Be the last player with cards to win.

  • Rolling Stone This Card Game for Kids Can Be a Lot of Fun but Also Very
Rolling Stone This card game for kids can be a lot of fun but also very frustrating: just when you are about to win, you can find yourself right back at square one! Number of Players: 4 - 6 Cards: If six players: One standard deck with the twos removed If five players: Twos, threes and fours removed If four players: Two, threes, fours, fives and sixes removed. Aces are high Instructions: The players cut the deck and the highest card deals all the cards around the group clockwise, until each player has eight cards. The players sort their cards by suit and then the player to the left of the dealer plays one card face-up. The next player then has to play a card which is of the same suit. Play continues until a player cannot place a card, at which point they have to pick up all the face-up cards and add them to their hand. They then start the next round with one of their cards of a different suit. The winner is the player who runs out of cards first. Pig card game What you need: Deck of cards Pens Cards for letters P,I,G Instructions: Sort the deck of cards out into piles of four of a kind. Set aside one pile for each player. Discard the remainder of the piles. Shuffle the chosen cards well. Deal until each player has four cards. The aim of the game is to collect four of a kind. Players must choose what they want to collect and discard, face-down, one card at a time each turn.

  • Card Games to Play7
Card Games to play7 Great Classic Card Games for Children Many classic card games are appropriate for young children, and the simplest can be played by kids as young as 3 years old. | Source 1. Memory (Concentration) • Ages: 3+ • Players: 2–4 How to Play 1. Deal out all the cards facedown on the table. 2. Players take turns to flip over 2 cards. If they flip over a pair that matches, they win the pair and get to have another go. If not, the next player takes a turn. 3. If you are playing with a standard set of cards, you can either allow matching the same number and same colour card or just the same value. 4. At the end, the player with the most cards wins. Variations You can also play Memory as a one-player game. Use a timer to try and get as many pairs as possible in 3 minutes. Try and beat your own score (or someone else's). 2. Snap • Ages: 3+ • Players: 2–6 (best with 3 or more) How to Play Play Snap with traditional playing cards, or buy a set of themed Snap cards. Zachary Kuchar CardGames.org 5-08-19 https://cardgames-seniorproject.herokuapp.com/ https://github.com/kucharze/Cardgames-node For my senior project, I extended a previous assignment from my Web Systems class, which was a Crazy Eights card game. There were three different alterations of the assignment. One version played the game through alerts in the web page. The second played with actual card graphics against a computer. As you clicked on a card you wanted to play, and you could click on the deck of cards to draw a card. The third version was played in the same way, but two different people connected to a server to play against each other. My project involved taking this game with some others and adding them to a website. This project included War, Go Fish, Snip Snap Snorum, Matching Cards, War, Blackjack, Spider Solitare, and Crazy Eights. These games have updated graphics and animations built into the gameplay. The website featured a login system. This allowed users to create a user ID and password, to record their scores and access the leaderboard. When a player wins a game, their username, along with their score was uploaded to a leaderboard database. When users were logged in, they could view their scores and the scores of the other players. Aesthetics and Functionality Figure 1: Project look Using HTML and JavaScript, the website would be original. Tabs would provide access to each game, as well as a login screen, and a leaderboard. This setup allows users to maneuver from game to game easily. Starting with Crazy Eights, I created the style for each card and then their layout.
