2019 Canada Winter Games Team Alberta 2019 Canada Winter Games Team Alberta Celebrate pre & post game join us 2.5 hours before every team alberta game at bo’s bar & grill - 2310 50 Ave. Welcome to the Games Four years of preparation. Now the hard work of everyone involved comes to fruition during a very busy two weeks, as our Team Alberta squads represent not just Hockey Alberta, but our entire province at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. On behalf of Hockey Alberta, and and the entire hockey community in the province, congratulations on completing The Road to Red Deer. For the players and their families, only a select group of athletes ever get the opportunity to represent their province at the Canada Winter Games. And very few get to participate at this level in their home province. Amongst the thrill of the competition, remember to take some time to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the Games. For the team staff, thank you for your hard work and dedication to Hockey TERRY ENGEN Alberta and the Team Alberta program. Your commitment, skills and Chair, Board of Directors knowledge, and enthusiasm for working with some of the best athletes in our province will reflect positively in the achievements of your teams during the Games. Finally, we would like to acknowledge and thank the organizations and teams that have played key roles in the development of the players, coaches and team staff who are proudly representing Alberta. No less than 30 of Hockey Alberta’s member Minor Hockey Associations and programs helped in the development and training of our players. As well, thank you to our partners in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League. We are all stronger thanks to the player, coach and team staff development opportunities available at all levels. To everyone involved in representing Alberta at the 2019 Canada Winter Games, best wishes as you showcase your skills, your team, and your province. Enjoy the friendships and experiences – they will stay with you the rest of your life. Terry Engen Rob Litwinski Chair, Board of Directors Chief Executive Officer ROB LITWINSKI Chief Executive Officer 3 #AlbertaBuilt Our MHAS –- Where Alberta Built Starts The athletes selected to represent Alberta at the Canada Winter Games all got their start in hockey in a local Minor Hockey Association. The efforts of the coaches, trainers, managers and other volunteers in our MHAs were integral in providing these athletes with a solid foundation in the sport. As we celebrate Team Alberta during the Canada Winter Games, take a moment to reflect on those individuals at the grassroots level who made a difference in each player’s early years.
