Jonathan W. Bullen Jonathan W. Bullen Jonathan W. Bullen is the President of Colmena Capital, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 2008 it is the real estate development arm of the Jonathan W. Bullen related group of companies. The partners of Colmena have over 40 years combined experience in all phases of real estate. The Colmena partners also have owned and managed enterprises in telecommunications (radio and cable television), for profit career education, and the health and fitness industry. The partners of Colmena have successfully developed, owned and managed properties in multi-family apartments, commercial office, research park, retail, hotel, residential land acquisition, and entitlement. In over 30 years of operating history, the principals of Colmena Capital have never failed to pay any of their financial obligations, nor defaulted on any debt obligation. Jonathan W. Bullen began investing in real estate in 1984 and is a founding member and major shareholder of Wasatch Premier Properties which began in 1990 during the S&L crisis and subsequent government RTC bailout. Starting as an acquisition strategy to capitalize on distressed real estate values, the Wasatch Residential portfolio is now comprised of over 9,500 apartment units. Wasatch Premier Properties is one of the region’s largest privately held multifamily portfolios. Jonathan is a major shareholder of Wasatch Commercial Properties. This group of investors owns and manages over 2 million square feet of office space including the Wells Fargo Center, a 500,000+ sq. ft. class A office building located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jonathan also serves on the investment committee of Woodbury Strategic Partners.. WSP is a $150M private real estate fund that invests in development and acquisition opportunities in the Intermountain West of which $30M will be funded by the Founding Partners. He sources investment opportunities for WSP and provides general oversight. Managed by a team of seasoned industry veterans WSP offers 90+ years of experience in its market and is a best in class asset management platform. WSP employs a cash flow focused investment model that maximizes the long- term value of assets delivering superior risk-adjusted returns to investors. Jonathan started his professional career as general manager of radio station KVNU and North Utah Community TV in Logan, UT, and soon after became President of Cache Valley Broadcasting Company. During his tenure Jonathan developed and initiated expansion of cable television service to 7 cities and towns in Cache County which doubled the subscriber base of the company. Mr. Bullen later formed the largest existing cable company in Logan. He sold the company in 1989. Jonathan currently serves as the CEO & President for the Eagle Gate College Group. He has been involved in higher education since 1993. He is the majority owner of Provo College and Eagle Gate College which have five campuses located in Utah. Jonathan served as an elected director of the Career College Association in 2006-2008. Jonathan is a State Co-Chair for Mitt Romney in San Diego California and serves on the National Finance Committee for Romney. Jonathan graduated from Utah State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Minor in Economics. He is married to Julie Harris and has four children and five grand-children. His hobbies include golf, fishing, hunting, biking and singing. Mr. Bullen lives in Park City, Utah. .
