Celebrate by Giving Food for Fines is back! The Libraries in Clackamas County would like you to join them in celebrating National Library Week. To celebrate this week, all of the libraries are offering a “Food for Fines” promotion April 9 - 15. Bring in a non-perishable food item (please no damaged or expired items) and the library will waive $1.00 of library fines for every item you donate. All food will go to local food banks in each area. Local food pantries are in particular need of: canned goods such as tuna, fruit, corn, and hearty soups or meals with protein, cereal (hot or cold) and dried beans and rice. Directors You Should Know: Tim Burton, Master of Mayhem For over three decades, director Tim Burton has been amazing us with his talent and originality. He began his career as an animator at Disney working on such films as The Fox and the Hound (1981) and The Black Cauldron (1985). His award winning short, Frankenweenie (1984), a twist on the Frankenstein saga, caught the eye of actor Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman, who signed Burton on to direct his first feature film and a Daylight Book career was born.
