ABBA의 음악에서 나타나는 Rutger Gunnarsson의 Bass연주 특징의 연구 분석
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial http://dx.doi.org/10.5762/KAIS.2014.15.7.4105 cooperation Society ISSN 1975-4701 / eISSN 2288-4688 Vol. 15, No. 7 pp. 4105-4110, 2014 ABBA의 음악에서 나타나는 Rutger Gunnarsson의 Bass연주 특징의 연구 분석 최희철1*, 조태선2 1청운대학교 산업기술경영대학원, 2청운대학교 실용음악과 A Analytical Study of Rutger Gunnarsson's Bass Performance Charateristics in ABBA Hee-Chul Choi1*, Tae-Seon Cho2 1Graduate School of Technology & Business, Chungwoon University 2Dept of Applied Music, Chungwoon University Abstract The role of bass in band or ensemble music literally sets up the foundation of harmony, which must be regarded first. On the other hand, this is also considered so basic or stable that it can be slightly boring to the listeners. Consideration is needed to make the varied trials more exciting. In this sense, Rutger Gunnarsson showed these fine examples not in performing music but in pop music through the Great ABBA. He could make a fabulous sound with only a basic performance, not with a florid technique or rhetorical skills. All bassists must bear in mind that the overall performance depends on the bass. -

Abba's :Album' Makes Listening Fun
Abba's :Album' Makes Listening Fun By Bernie Russell Start with Jackson Browne and Paul Simon and begin moving in the other direction; past the Eagles, past Fleetwood Mac, past the Bee Gees, and past Barry Manilow and you finally end up with Abba. Abba's music is as different from Browne's and Simon's as possible with its sumptious background arrangements, infectious melodies, triv ial lyrics, and perky delivery. Abba does not pretend to be innovative or even artistic in their music; their aim is purely, blatantly commercial success. In spite of this less than noble goal, Abba's music is terrific. Anyone who has heard their hits ''Mamma Mia'' and "Dancing Queen" knows that Abba's music has a contagiously happy sound that is all but irresistable. Abba's latest, simply called ''The Album,'' carries on their tradition elf light, escapist music and it is entertaining in the way an amusement park is entertaining. There's very little intellectual going on-certain ly nothing revolutionary-but the mood is so happy and energetic that it is impossible not to enjoy yourself. Every song on ''The Album'' has a melody so catchy that it lingers in the mind long after the record is over. The lyrics that go with these melodies are, as usual, very slight; such as "There gotta be rock'n rolVTo fill the hole in your soul.'' Much of the music.on "The Album" sounds like Fifties music that has been slicked up and transplanted into the Seventies. "Take a Chance on Me" has a beat like a polka that is occasionally interrupted by one of the singer's cooing "C'mon, gimme a break, baby" the way . -

It Began 50 Years Ago in Sweden
IT BEGAN 50 YEARS AGO IN SWEDEN Ever since their breakthrough with ‘Waterloo’ back in 1974, ABBA’s music has captured the hearts of people all over the world. THE STORY Today, the songs they created – expertly written and produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, and interpreted vocally with passion and commitment by Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad – are regarded as an important part of the international music canon. In the 21st Century, ABBA are more popular than ever. TABLE OF CONTENT THE STORY 03 THE PEOPLE 16 ARTICLES 22 4 1966 The ABBA story began in Sweden, more than five decades ago. In June 1966, Björn Ulvaeus (born 1945) met Benny Andersson (born 1946) for the first time. Björn was a member of the Hootenanny Singers, a very popular folk music group, while Benny played keyboards in Sweden’s biggest pop group of the 1960s, The Hep Stars. ARRIVAL in SYDNEY - Grant's Review
ARRIVAL IN SYDNEY - Grant's Review ARRIVAL - Simply Sensational Sensational. That’s the only word I can think of to describe the two ARRIVAL shows held in Sydney over the weekend. I am feeling quite lost for words and out of it today. A bit like feeling jet lagged. ARRIVAL are ABBA fans that much is obvious. The attention to detail, the respect, the song choices, the costumes everything is just so right and spot on. And no f##king cat dresses!!!!! As much as I loved the cat dresses way back when ABBA wore them, they have now become the symbol of cheap, tacky ABBA send-ups. ARRIVAL's 1977 tour costumes were just perfect and looked so real. The mini musical? I am lost for words. The narrator, the wigs, the choreography all perfect. Even at the best of times I really can’t get into “Thank You For The Music” but Anna (Agnetha) put in such an amazing vocal performance, I really sat up and took notice a more German cabaret type of vocal. Vicky’s (Frida) emotional rendition of “I Wonder” gave me goose bumps and a weird feeling inside. You often forget what an amazing song “I Wonder” is because the studio version is so flat and devoid of emotion. And “Marionette” really rocked. One of my favourite ABBA songs. :-) Singing in Swedish was a great touch. “Ring Ring (Bara Du Slog En Signal)” never sounded better. “Fernando” took on a new dimension hearing the first verse and chorus sung in Swedish as Frida's original version had been. -
