Sefton Park "Magnificent Palm House and Historic Statues"

Established in 1872, is the city's largest and most popular park. The Victorian Palm House, a renowned landmark within the park, came close to collapse in the 1980s but was saved by a public appeal and underwent a huge refurbishment program due to a grant from the National Lottery. The park includes many beautiful statues, and although by Peter many of the original works are now in storage for safekeeping, you can still see a number of them around the park. Boasting a lake, numerous football pitches, a cricket club and a birdhouse, the park also features a cafe in the central area. Admission is free.

Greenbank Park "Relax in the Greens"

Once a property of Liverpool's philanthropic, Rathbone family, is now a great recreation zone for visitors. A prime feature of the is the lake, bordering its western end. This lake is open for people to boating on its waters or a calming fishing time. The Rathbones lived here till the 1940s, but now only a wall stands as a remnant of their property. by KevinJump This wall has been developed as an English garden. This walled garden, featuring colorful graffiti work, is another highlight of the park. Children can enjoy on swings, slides and see-saws at the Greenbank Park.

Calderstones Park "Old English and Japanese Gardens"

This beautiful, green expanse of parkland can be found in the attractive suburb of Allerton. The sprawling park spans 38.04 hectares (94 acres) and has many facilities including two popular bowling greens, a modern children's play area opened in memory of Linda McCartney, as well as tennis courts. A large fishing lake situated in the center of the park is by flembotembo home to a variety of ducks, geese and swans. The Old English Garden and the Japanese Gardens are prime examples of expert horticulture and offer a peaceful retreat on sunny days. Impressive statues depicting the four seasons and two caryatids known as Gog and Magog can be seen adorning the Calderstones Road entrance. The park's busy cafe serves a good range of home-made goodies, beverages and confectionery.

One of the major heritage centers in the North West, Croxteth Hall & Country Park, can be found just a few minutes away from the city center. Once the ancestral home of the Molyneaux family, it now attracts thousands of visitors each year. The estate has three main attractions: the historic hall, the rare breeds farm and the Victorian walled garden. Take a by Secret Pilgrim walk through the magnificent woodland area, packed with rare birds and wildlife or let the children loose in the adventure playground, followed by look at the miniature railway.
