09:45-10:30 SETTING THE SCENE Despite known linkages between Migration and Health, international human rights standards, a 2008 World Health Resolution on Migrant Health, and the recognized role of migrants for sustained social and economic development, the process has been slow in meeting the health needs of migrants, adjust and develop conducive policies across sectors, and equip health systems to respond to contemporary migration and human mobility. The Consultation objectives, underlying conceptual framework and intended outcomes will be presented against a background of Global Health and Global Migration Initiatives emphasizing recent milestones and near future key processes to jointly work towards.
