DOUGLAS MOORE is the Warren Professor of Music at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and cellist with the Williams Chamber Players. He ...... holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Catholic University ofAmerica. He has appeared with orchestras and in recital throughout the US. and Canada; in 2000-2001 he will have performed in nearly thirty concerts as cellist or con­ ductor of cello choirs in Colorado, Ontario, Pennsylvania,Louisiana, Connecti­ cut, Texas,Massachusetts, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. In 1976 Moore played the premiere performance of the Cello Sonata by Arthur Foote, and since 1981 has played the Foote Cello Concerto with numerous orchestras. His edition of the cello/piano music of Foote was published by A-R Editions, and his record­ ing of that music is on the Musical Heritage Society label. He has also recorded music by Farwell, Cadman, Arensky, Kechley, and Rachmaninoff on the Grand Prix and Liscio labels. Moore has published numerous arrangements for mul­ tiple celli, including the Stars and Stripes Forever for four celli (published by Presser). He plays a 1997 cello made by Lawrence Wilke of Clinton, Connecticut.
