Perfectly located on the edge of the sought after village of Denby Dale is Dale View, a very attractive family home that was designed and built in 2003. “My husband was actually on his way to do a bit of shopping when he first happened upon the property,” says the owner. “We were looking for a new home close to our business in the village, but at that time only the ground floor of this house had been built, so it was in the very early stages of development. Nevertheless, he loved the position of the property and realised it was going to be a beautiful family home when finished, and so he purchased it a just few days later.”

“The fact that it was only at first-fix stage when we bought it meant that we were able to really put our stamp on the look and feel of the house as a whole. We had a gorgeous maple kitchen installed, complete with beautiful black granite worktops; we added top-of-the-range fixtures, fittings and appliances and we also decided to have a large orangery added, which is a super room that flows via two sets of double doors into both the kitchen and the main living room. The house is a beautiful family home, very spacious and incredibly light and bright throughout, and it’s a house that’s not only comfortable for day-to-day family life but also fantastic to entertain in.”

“Another feature of the property that proved to be a huge attraction was the garden, which is absolutely huge,” continues the owner. “To the front we have an extremely large driveway, and to the back we have an enormous formal garden that’s arranged over three lawned tiers that gently rise up from the house. The whole space has been beautifully landscaped, so we have various seating areas, including a lovely gazebo right at the top end, and there’s also ample space for children to run around and play in. It’s a stunning garden and because of our elevated position we can sit out there and enjoy some really breathtaking views.”

“My favourite part of the house would probably be the breakfast area that flows from the kitchen,” says the owner. “It has patio doors that lead out onto a large balcony to the front of the property, and so we can extend the space outside when the weather is warm and enjoy a really lovely outlook.”

“I really do feel that living here has enabled us to enjoy the very best of both worlds,” says the owner. “To both the front and back of the property we have nothing but open fields, so we can step out and walk for miles; we can stroll into the village, which has a fantastic array of shops and amenities, or jump in the car and be in places such as Sheffield or in a relatively short amount of time. For us it’s been absolutely perfect.”

“The orangery is another standout feature of the house,” says the owner. “It has a huge lantern, French doors and lots of lovely big windows, so it provides a really nice connection with the garden, even on the dullest of days. It also has both under-floor heating and air conditioning, so it can be enjoyed all year round.”

“We’ve been extremely happy here for the past 15 years; it’s definitely a house that’s lived up to all expectations,” says the owner. “There’s so much that I’ll miss, but most of all it will be the space and general ambiance of the house and also being able to step outside and enjoy those magnificent views.”*
