BIOGRAPHY Mark Baum is a risk management strategist helping design, construction, and professional services firms align their risk management strategies with their business objectives. He provides daily service to Greyling clients through contract drafting, review, negotiation; project and risk management counseling claim recognition, handling, and resolution; and presentation of educational risk management seminars. Before joining Greyling, he was Vice President and chief Corporate Counsel for Barry Wehmiller Design Group, an integrated architecture, engineering, construction management company specializing in design/build and EPCM delivery methods. Prior holding that post, he was Associate General Counsel at HOK, the global architecture and engineering firm. In both positions he was responsible for handling large contract negotiations, project counseling and risk review, complex professional liability and construction defect claims, insurance placement, professional licensing, and corporate development. He specializes in counseling clients with unique and challenging facets of project delivery like fast-track scheduling, early GMP development, delegated design, and contractual performance guarantees. He is an evangelist for design build, public private partnerships (P3), and integration of new technology, contract forms, and incentives in design and construction to promote better project outcomes and minimize disputes. Over the course of his career, he has helped project teams navigate the challenges posed by the delivery of large, complex, and sensitive projects like Apple Central + Wolfe Campus, State Farm Arena ( Hawks), Little Caesars Arena (Detroit Red Wings), ( Dolphins), Welsh Ryan Arena (Northwestern University), LaGuardia Airport New Terminal B, Tampa International Airport Main Terminal Redevelopment Constellation Brands Nava Brewery, Blue Buffalo Pet Food Manufacturing Complexes, and advanced technology projects for Intel, Siemens, Texas Instruments, Tesla, and Alphabet.
