The Canberra Gazette Our Favourite Movies The Canberra Gazette Our favourite movies I liked the film"Skyfall" because it is a spy film. In this James Bond film, the action is very realistic. The director is Sam Mendes and the screenwriters are Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. The main actors are Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes. Daniel Craig plays the leading role of secret agent James Bond and Judi Dench acts the role of M. During his mission in Istanbul and covered by his agent Eve, Bond tries to catch a man. Eve accidentally shoots Bond who falls into the river and is believed to be dead. A few months later, there is an attack against the MI6. In the meantime,James Bond who is not dead, decides to return to London. When the MI6 is threatened his mission leads him to a former agent named Silva. He is determined to kill M for high treason. Bond and M hide in Bond’s family manor in Scotland. Silva finds their tracks. James Bond kills him. Later, M dies from her wounds. In 2013, the film "Skyfall" won a BAFTA Award for best British film. The same year, the singer Adèle won an Oscar for the best song . Daniel Craig is the greatest actor in Britain. He is so talented. I'm crazy about him. The film knows an international success. Léa Courbe « Edward Scissorhands » is my favourite film. It vas directed and produced by Tim Burton, who is the best director in the world but he has got crazy ideas! Jonnhy Depp plays the role of Edward. It was released on 7th december 1990. It's a romantic story, it tells the story of a creature with "scissor hands" who meets a young woman. For them, it's "Love at first sight" Tim burton criticizes the fear of strangers. I recommend this film which is wonderful but sad. Maëllie Hingrat "War Horse" is my favorite film. It is a beautiful story with lots of action. It was directed by steven spielbreg and released in 2012. It is the story of a horse, Joey. The dad of his owner needs money and sells Joey to the British army. His owner, Albert, really wants to find him and for this, he joins the army. I love this film, the action is always present, we experience all sorts of emotions and I must confess, at the end, I shed a little tear ! Fanny Dornadic One of my favorite films is "The Mortal Instruments", which is a fantasy and interesting film. It was directed by Harald Zwart and produced by Sony pictures enternainment and Constantin film. The first parts are played by Jamie Campbell Bower (Jayce Wayland) and Lily Collins (Clary Fray). This film lasts 130 minutes (it's a little bit long !) and it was released in 2013. At first, it was a book called "the Mortal instruments; The city of Bones" and then it was adapted at the cinema. The story is about a girl, Clary, who discovers another world in the reality to which it belongs. She fights alongside shadow hunters to find her mother, who has been kidnapped by demons. It's a really good film i Emma Ardeois « Gravity » is the last movie I saw. I love this film, it's wonderful. Gravity is a spatial thriller written, produced and directed by Alfonso Cuaron in 2013 and produced by Warner Bross. The Commanding officer of the American space shuttle Explorer, Matt Kowalski (George Clooney), and the scientific astronaut Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock), are the only survivers of a spatial mission intended to repair the Hubble telescope. They try to return to Earth by getting back at first to the international space station. I love this film because space is so beautiful and I love George Clooney. I think , it's the best thriller ever and as such it should have lots of awards ! Ewen Soulard « The Butler » is the last film I saw. It’s a great film about segregation. The story takes place between 1920 and 2008 with the talented and acclaimed Forest Whitaker and the famous Opra Winfrey. The film was directed by Lee Daniels. It was released on 5th august of this year. It is 132 minutes long. It’s a true story about segregation and a little boy who would like to try his luck in the world of important men. A great story about a man who works during more than thirty years at the white house. He met more than eight presidents. Forest Whitaker was nominated for two osars for his performance and the film made Barack Obama cry. Ema Rivalland "Skyfall is Daniel Craig’s latest film. I love Daniel Craig, I love his character so I love this movie ! It was directed by Sam Mendes, released in 2012 and produced by EON Productions. It is 143 minutes long. The credit song is sung by Adèle and it won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the best original song ! 007 must go on a mission to save the British government ! But is he still efficient ? I like this film because there is action and Daniel Craig (starring in Skyfall) is my favorite actor ! I enjoy the credits because Adèle sings very well and the song is beautiful. There is a love story between the leading role and a James Bond Girl. This movie is so exceptional I think a prize would be good for it !" Lola Philippon My favorite movie is “the lord of the rings: the return of the King”! For me this is the best adventure movie ever. It was directed by Peter Jackson and produced by New Line Cinema Production. It was released in 2003 and shot in New Zealand. It cost 94 000 000 $. It’s based on a novel of J.R.R. Tolkien. The main actors are Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis. This movie tells the story of Frodo, a hobbit. He must destroy the ring of Sauron, the bad guy, in the mountain of Destiny in Mordor. Aragorn, the heir to the throne of Gondor, helps Rohan to fight the army of Mordor. Gandalf is a white magician. He helps Aragorn and Frodo to defeat Sauron and his army. Gollum is a creature who leads Frodo to Mordor. Gollum is crazy but he’s very funny! The two camps clash. The army of Aragorn is assisted by the army of the dead. I like this film because there are a lot of action scenes and it's a different universe. It’s really funny with Gollum and Gimli the dwarf who argues with the elf Legolas Solenn Schmitt « Ps : I love you » is my favorite film because I fancy love stories, and because it takes place in Ireland. This movie was directed by Richard Lagravenese and produced by Wendy Finerman, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. It was shot in Manhattan and in Ireland in 2007. And it was released in 2008. Holly and Gerry are a married couple who lives in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They are deeply in love, but they fight occasionally. Gerry suddenly dies of a brain tumor and Holly has a depression . But on her 30th birthday, she receives a cake and an audio recording, this was Gerry's voice, this recording is going to be an aventure for Holly... This film is definitly my favorite, because it's so beautiful, it's such a wonderful love story . And I love Gerard Butler (Gerry) , he's a brilliant actor, and I like Ireland too. Camille Maher My favorite movie is « The Hunger Games » which is an action and science-fiction film. It is based on a novel with 3 volumes. The film was released in 2012. The director is Gary Ross and the screen-writer is Billy Ray. The film has won 4 prizes and 5 nominations. The leading role was for Jenifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen) and the others roles were : Josh Hutcherson (peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Ghale Hawthorne), Woodie Harrelson (Haymritch Abernathy) … The Hunger games is a TV show, 12 districts are chosen to fight in a virtual word. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Melark are taken to the Capitol. There will be only 1 winner, the others will die. It's the greatest film of the world because there is a lot of action, « love », and suspense … The second film « The Hunger Games : Catching fire » was released on wednesday, November 27. Gwendoline Barbin The Hunger Games is the most tremendous movie !! For me it's the best movie !!! It was released in March 2012 and is based on a novel. The movie, which has won lots of prizes, was directed by Gary Ross. The main actors are Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) and Liam Hemswerth (Ghale). It's an action, science fiction and drama movie. Every year the Capitol, the capital of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a boy and a girl who must fight for a TV show "The Hunger Games"... The unique survivor is the winner... The young Katniss, at the age of 16, takes the place of her little sister in the competition. She is against opponents who are prepared to do anything to save their life. She has only her instinct... In this film there is a lot of suspense... There is action too, love, instinct and fighting... The characters are very well played and very captivating ! (This movie is mostly for teenagers.) Sabine Milon The last movie I saw is Oblivion.

  • Allianz Global Insurance Report 2020: Skyfall
stock.adobe.com - © Davies Stephen ALLIANZ INSURANCE REPORT 2020 SKYFALL 01 July 2020 02 Looking back: License to insure 10 Coronomics: Tomorrow never dies 16 Money? Penny? Outlook for the coming decade 22 No time to die: ESG as the next business frontier in insurance Allianz Research The global insurance industry entered 2020 in good shape: In 2019, premiums increa- sed by +4.4%, the strongest growth since 2015. The increase was driven by the life seg- EXECUTIVE ment, where growth sharply increased over 2018 to +4.4% as China overcame its tem- porary, regulatory-induced setback and mature markets finally came to grips with low interest rates. P&C clocked the same rate of growth (+4.3%), down from +5.4% in 2018. SUMMARY Global premium income totaled EUR3,906bn in 2019 (life: EUR2,399bn, P&C: EUR1,507bn). Then, Covid-19 hit the world economy like a meteorite. The sudden stop of economic activity around the globe will batter insurance demand, too: Global premium income is expected to shrink by -3.8% in 2020 (life: -4.4%, P&C: -2.9%), three times the pace wit- nessed during the Global Financial Crisis. Compared to the pre-Covid-19 growth trend, the pandemic will shave around EUR358bn from the global premium pool (life: Michaela Grimm, Senior Economist EUR249bn, P&C: EUR109bn). [email protected] In line with our U-shaped scenario for the world economy, premium growth will re- bound in 2021 to +5.6% and total premium income should return to the pre-crisis level. The losses against the trend, however, may never be recouped: although long-term growth until 2030 may reach +4.4% (life: 4.4%, P&C: 4.5%), this will be slightly below previous projections.

Hester This dissertation was prepared under the direction of the candidate's dissertation advisor, Dr. Jane Caputi, Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Communication, and Multimedia and has been approved by the members of his supervisory committee. It was submitted to the faculty of the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and was accepted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Khaled Sobhan, Ph.D. Interim Dean, Graduate College iii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jane Caputi for guiding me through this process. She was truly there from this paper’s incubation as it was in her Sex, Violence, and Hollywood class where the idea that James Bond could be repressing his homosexuality first revealed itself to me. She encouraged the exploration and was an unbelievable sounding board every step to fruition. Stephen Charbonneau has also been an invaluable resource. Frankly, he changed the way I look at film. His door has always been open and he has given honest feedback and good advice. Oliver Buckton possesses a knowledge of James Bond that is unparalleled. I marvel at how he retains such information.

Therefore the level awarded here should be considered to be only an estimation of what would be awarded. How levels and marks correspond to grade boundaries depends on the Awarding process that happens after all/most of the scripts are marked and depends on a number of factors, including candidate performance across the board.
