Sleeping Beauty at America's Got Talent Sila Sveta international interactive media studio with offices in Moscow and Los Angeles had made it to the quarterfinals of the 11th season of America's Got Talent show on NBC. Sila Sveta had successfully passed the auditions’ stage with Sleeping Beauty performance and presented its Pygmalion showpiece yesterday on Tuesday, July 26. In the beginning of 2016 producers of America's Got Talent reached out to Sila Sveta with an offer to participate in the show as unique portfolio of the studio had attracted their attention. This way the world-famous talent competition has become an experimental space for the international team of highest level tech and creative professionals. America's Got Talent gave Sila Sveta complete freedom to create within the size of the stage and technical requirements for TV shooting. Sila Sveta decided to develop further the idea behind their famous Levitation work for the audition. Levitation was a part of Big Ballet show on Kultura (“Culture”) Russian TV channel, which soon became the most popular video ever posted online by the studio (with more than 5 million views as of today). Alexander Us, Sila Sveta’s Creative Director, Arthur Kondrashenkov, its Art Director, Choreographer Oleg Glushkov and Composer Mitya Vikhornov formed new production team. Performers were selected and brought on board by Sila Sveta’s LA office. The first rehearsals were held in Moscow: creative team has drafted concept of the show, worked on choreography and graphic solutions. The final production had been carried out in Los Angeles. The idea of illusion of flight in Sleeping Beauty required careful placement of cameras with a well-defined viewing angles and precise coordination of shootings for the jury and television. Both realistic projection with performers on stage and perfect final cut version on air required focused and aligned actions of every member of Sila Sveta’s international team. The decision to avoid bright colors and make picture a bit more serene, almost monochrome, was taken not to distract the audience by visuals from the showpiece as a whole. And they had a very romantic performance as the result — the story of Sleeping Beauty, story about love presented to the TV show audience and beyond. Alexander Us, Creative Director of Sila Sveta, shares his insights: "The creative process in this story is similar to the drawing, when you create a sketch in the dark, and then finally driving a jeep on a brightly lit terrain. While America slept, Moscow had been generating content; and when it was Moscow’s turn to fall asleep, Los Angeles had been starting to rehearse and prepare for the next phase of edits. Everything happened in very rapid succession. We established a special process to select professional performers, which was actually a tour around all the dance studios in Los Angeles with the message: "Who wants to join us for AGT this year?". We had to work hard to present our aesthetics and keep the space for the viewer's imagination. And we are pleased that everything is going exactly as we would like so far — even in such a complex environment as international show business". The main objective for Sila Sveta is to bring modern hi-end digital art into this season of America's Got Talent and to showcase its creative style and technical skills globally, becoming internationally recognized. America's Got Talent — TV project on the NBC television channel and part of the franchise “Got Talent”. It is a talent show for creative professionals of all ages competing for the top prize of $ 1 000 000. The premiere took place on June 21, 2006 and the ratings of America's Got Talent are traditionally very high, in average about 12 million viewers. Starting from the third season public audience is also involved into the auditions together with the producers and celebrity judges. In the current season Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel are accompanied by the creator and executive producer of "Got Talent" Simon Cowell. Sila Sveta — a global interactive media studio, founded by Alexander Us and Alexey Rozov. The studio is engaged in the development and implementation of creative concepts, interactive installations, event and art-projects, the production of multimedia content (graphics and visual effects, video shooting and post- production, music and sound effects). Sila Sveta is a provider of professional technical solutions related to projection systems and lighting equipment, as well as the technologies of virtual reality and immersive visualization. A primeira seção apresenta a importância do programa American Idol para o formato dos reality shows musicais na atualidade; a segunda seção descreve o esquema geral do programa e algumas características de suas quinze temporadas; a terceira seção discute como os reality shows participam de uma “sociedade do espetáculo”, ao mesmo tempo em que oferecem novas possibilidades de interação e atividade dos espectadores em decorrência da convergência midiática; a quarta seção efetua uma análise empírica das fanpages relacionadas ao programa no Facebook. Introdução: Sobre o reality show musical American Idol Em 11 de junho de 2002, estreou na televisão americana o programa American Idol, cujo objetivo era determinar qual seria o melhor candidato na competição musical, apresentando ao público a nova voz estadunidense. Sobre o programa em questão, Monteiro (2014, p. 1) afirma: “A escolha é realizada por meio de uma hibridização entre o voto popular e as escolhas dos três juízes, que são experts da indústria musical, cultural, mercadológica e midiática, ou seja, são pessoas dotadas de conhecimentos específicos desse meio”.
