Along with the match program I have enclosed a copy of the registration form and squadding sheet. Also, included are some other flyers of interest about the shoot for your review. The County of Hawaii no longer allows storing of ammo at the range. For those requiring ammo for the match, S. Tokunaga Store has agreed to provide the ammo needed. In order to fill your needs, contact ERIC at [email protected] for your ammo. He will inform you of what’s available and the cost per flat. Please mention you are participating in our shoot. This will be another great Hawaiian shoot and remember it is limited to the first sixty‐five (65) shooters that send in a deposit of $100.00 to reserve a spot in the competition. Championship Doubles * Event 7, 100 Championship Handicap SHOOT FORMAT 800 Registered Targets Range opens at 8:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2019. The cashier’s table opens at 8:30 AM for registration. GOVERNANCE This tournament will be governed by the rules printed in this program and the current PITA Rule Book. All shooters participating in this tournament agree to accept all official decisions and abide by the rules of the PITA. The PITA daily fee of $4.00, and the HPITA daily fee of $2.50, will be collected on the first event entered each day. All contestants must be current members of the PITA. The annual membership fee is payable at registration. The total number of shooters in this tournament is limited to sixty-five (65). Big Island Trap Club (BITC) retains the right to refuse or refund any entry that in their judgment would interfere with the harmony of the shoot. BITC retains the right to change all or any part of this program. Only personnel designated by club management may adjust targets. The Big Island Trap Club will host a PITA registered shoot on February 15 – 18, 2019. Targets may be cross-registered with ATA subject to all fees, rules, and requirements. Cross registration fees must be paid for all registered events in the tournament in which the shooter participates. CLASSIFICATION Shooters must present their PITA and ATA cards for correct assignment of classification. Classification, for singles and doubles, will be based on the highest of either PITA or ATA current established averages for those shooters meeting the minimum target requirement. Handicap yardage will be assigned according to current PITA rules. Singles Doubles 96.0% and above A 92.50% and above A 92.50% to 95.99% B 86.00% to 92.49% B 88.50% to 92.49% C 80.00% to 85.99% C Under 88.50% D Under 80.00% D Shooters who win or tie their class will be advanced to the next higher class for remaining events. SPECIAL CLASSES Junior up to the age of 18 year old Veteran age 65 or older Lady any age CLASSFICIATION EXCEPTIONS Junior shooters who have not shot at least 300 registered 16-yard and all other shooters who have not shot at least 500 registered 16-yard PITA and/or ATA targets during the current and previous year shall shoot no less than Class A. Junior shooters who have not shot at least 100 registered doubles and all other shooters who have not shot at least 200 registered doubles PITA and/or ATA targets during the current and previous year shall not shoot less than Class B. Shooters who have not shot at least 500 registered PITA and/or ATA handicap targets (300 for juniors) during the current and previous year shall shoot no less than 22 yards, except ladies who must shoot no less than 20 yards. SHOOTER RESPONSIBILITIES Shooters are responsible for ensuring they are classified and handicapped properly as well as special classes identified. Errors at the classification desk do not relieve shooters of this responsibility. Be ready when their squad is called. After two minutes your squad will proceed without you. Arrange for your shells IN ADVANCE of your arrival. SHOOT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Reserves the right to review and modify a shooter’s classification at any time. Reserves the right to change initial squadding assignments should it become necessary to minimize squad vacancies or adjust for earned yardage. Provide orange White Flyer targets for this event. Provide voice release systems to be used on all traps. No mechanical alternations shall be made to the equipment unless the equipment fails to present a legal target. Provide a target setting committee that will set targets prior to each day’s events. Target setting changes will be made during an event only if the targets become illegal. Any resetting of targets must be authorized and checked by a member of the target setting committee only, NO EXCEPTIONS! Help shooters comply with Hawaii gun registration requirements. Assist shooters in planning for shells to be used during the tournament. Placing advanced orders for your shells is recommended. CONTACT: S. On Friday, the cashier’s table will close at 3:00 pm. Subsequent days, the cashier’s table will be open until the range closes. All financial transactions will be cash or check, in US currency, no credit or debit cards accepted. Pay-offs will be made by check in US funds and mailed to the participants after the shoot is finalized. PURSES/OPTIONS All purse and options entries are optional. Tie scores will divide the purse. No option money will be refunded or options purchased after the event has started. Unless otherwise noted, all 25s, 50s, and purse options will be paid out 60/40 high gun (ties split 50/50). 50 options will pay 3 combinations. CROSS REGISTRATION Targets thrown on February 15 – 18, 2019 may be cross registered with the ATA subject to all fees, rules, and requirements. ATA daily fee of $3.00 and a HTA daily of $4.00 will be charged to cross register targets. SHOOT OFFS Shoot offs for all tied scores will be conducted daily, as time allows. Failure to participate in a shoot-off constitutes forfeiture. It is the shooter’s responsibility to be aware of shoot offs. No shoot offs will be conducted solely to determine a winner for purse or option money. RANGE AVAILABILITY The Department of Parks and Recreation will have the range open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday (February 15, 2019) to Monday (February 18, 2019). PRACTICE ROUNDS Practice rounds can be shot on Friday, February 15th and before the events begin Saturday through Monday.
