Mattsson notched her fourth fall of the day in the 53kg final for her fifth overall continental crown and Olli defeated reigning world champion at 60kg Oksana HERHEL (UKR) for her first senior European title -- making silver the new gold at Arena Riga. (WATCH: 2016 European champion Sofia MATTSSON (SWE) explains why she's competing through the Olympic year.) Meanwhile, in the men’s events, world champion Frank CHAMIZO (ITA) claimed the medal he “missed” last year but struggled in winning it and Anzor BOLTUKAEV (RUS) forged a technical fall at 97kg worthy of the “God of Thunder” moniker appearing on some websites after his triumph. Mattsson kicked the evening off with her fourth fall of the day, catching challenger Irina KURACHKINA (BLR) with a half-nelson and whip-over off a single-leg attack for the pin only 53 ticks into the women’s 53kg final. Asked about her plans leading up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in August, Mattsson replied that she plans to remain active in competitions “I have never wrestled better, so I want to keep up with my schedule. Why change?” Olli, who had won four European junior titles, 2011-2014, and then captured the European under-23 championship crown last year, pinned Herhel in the U23 semifinals before claiming her fifth age-group title in a row. “We’ve (Herhel and I) wrestled a number of times in the past, so I knew what to expect from her,” Olli said after her victory. “I knew that if I wrestled smart, I would be ok.” Most feared is Herhel’s headlock, and even though the world champ uncorked three throw attempts during the bout with effect, but Olli slipped under and behind her opponent’s grip for six of her eight points in an 8-2 decision. After four technical falls in the early session, expectations were raised for Chamizo in the evening. But the world champ stepped onto the mat with a heavily tapped elbow and appeared to wrestle cautiously against Mustafa KAYA (TUR) in the 65kg final. Late in the second period after Kaya took a 5-4 lead and attack the ankles of the world champion, Chamizo backed over his opponent, using his legs to turn his opponent on his way to an 8-6 victory. “I’m not going to wrestle in anymore competitions until the Olympic Games,” Chamizo announced to reporters. “I want to rest my elbow and prepare for the Games.” “I chose to wrestle here because I wanted a chance to win the medal I should have at the European Games last year,” said Chamizo, alluding to his loss by fall to Togrul ASGAROV (AZE) in the 65kg final. At 97kg, Boltukaev, who defeated world champion Kyle SNYDER (USA) at the Yarygin Grand Prix in January, hacked his way through a thicket of opponents that included European Games runner-up Elizbar ODIKADZE (GEO) and London 201 silver medalist Valerii ANDRIITSEV (UKR). In the gold medal final, Boltukaev found his rhythm in the second period to hand Ivan YANOUSKI (BLR) an 11-0 technical fall loss for his first-ever European championship crown. -- Results -- Men’s freestyle 65kg (23 entries) Gold – Frank CHAMIZO (ITA) df. Zhamalov, a 2019 U23 world champion, was one of four freestyle gold medalists for Russia on Thursday. In the 74kg final, Zhamalov scored the first point of the match off the activity clock and took a 1-0 lead into the break. Chamizo grabbed a 2-1 lead a minute into second period after securing a hard-fought takedown. Zhamlov kept the pressure on Chamizo, attempting a duck under with 25 seconds left. After Chamizo fended it off, Zhamalov came up with a body lock before eventually securing Chamizo's leg. With just under 10 seconds remaining, Zhamlov slipped behind Chamizo and scored a two-point action with two seconds remaining to earn the come-from-behind victory, 4-2. Zavur UGUEV (RUS) won the gold at 57kg (Photo: Kadir CALISKAN, UWW) Russia's other gold medals Thursday came from Zavur UGUEV (57kg), Alikhan ZHABRAILOV (92kg) and Shamil SHARIPOV (125kg). • Coating Formulations Suitable for Biodegradable Microneedles with Immediate Release Jonas Nygren
Coating Formulations Suitable for Biodegradable Microneedles with Immediate Release Jonas Nygren Master thesis, 30 hp Master’s Programme in Pharmaceutical Science, 120 hp Report approved: Spring term 2018 Supervisors: Susanne Bredenberg and Sofia Mattsson. Examinor: Olov Nilsson Abstract Introduction: The administration of hypodermic needles can be associated with issues like physical and psychological pain. A novel method to administrate compounds such as vaccines and other drugs is therefore warranted. Microneedles (MNs) that consist of multiple needles in the microscopic region causes little to no pain and have successfully delivered drugs both locally and systemically. The MNs are often divided into subgroups like biodegradable MNs that can either be coated for immediate release or have the drug substance incorporated in the material resulting in an extended release. The biodegradable MNs in this study were made from calcium sulfate, commonly known as gypsum, which have been used previously in for example craniofacial surgeries. Objective: The purpose of the study was to find coating formulations that displayed good coating uniformity without compromising the needle sharpness. The formulation should be evenly distributed on top of the MN array without diffusing into the material. It should also be miscible with sodium salicylate and present an immediate release according to release studies. Method: MN arrays were constructed of calcium sulfate with two different sieve fractions (≤125 µm and ≤63µm) to determine the potential difference. After determining the optimal sieve fraction the MNs were coated with different combinations of PEG 3350, sodium alginate, Kollicoat® IR and distilled water which acted as a reference. Evaluation of the formulations concerned coating uniformity and the extent of diffusion through the material.

Thirty weight categories in three styles will be contested over seven days of competition. The Individual World Cup is serving as a substitute event for the 2020 World Championships. The event was canceled after not fulfilling the criteria set forth by the UWW Bureau. The criteria included having at least 8 of 10 of the top nations from the 2019 World Championships and 70% of total athletes participate in 2020. The Individual World Cup represents international wrestling's return to competition and will lay the groundwork for safety protocols and countermeasures around all competitions. This will be vital to ensure a safe environment for future competitions in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympics. The event has a prize pool of 300,000 Swiss Francs, which will be divided evenly across the 30 weight categories. Thirty-one returning world medalists, including five returning world champions, are entered in the field. Olympic champion Davor STEFANEK (SRB) will compete at 67kg (Photo: Gabor MARTIN, United World Wrestling) The Individual World Cup opens Saturday with Greco-Roman competition, which will be headlined by four Rio Olympic champions: Artur ALEKSANYAN (ARM) at 97kg, Davit CHAKVETADZE (RUS) at 87kg, Davor STEFANEK (SRB) at 67kg and Roman VLASOV (RUS) at 77kg.

PREVALENCE OF DRUG RELATED PROBLEMS STOPP/START in elderly people with dementia Linnea Abramsson Master thesis, 30 hp Master’s Programme in Pharmacy, 300 hp Report approved: Spring term 2019 Supervisor: Maria Gustafsson, Examiner: Sofia Mattsson Abstract Introduction Drug related problems (DRPs) are common among elderly people with dementia. Different tools to detect DRPs can be used, either implicit or explicit criteria. An explicit tool to detect DRPs among elderly people is Screening Tool of Older People’s Prescriptions/Screening Tool to Alert doctors to the Right Treatment (STOPP/START). STOPP/START is developed by a group of experts in Europe and has been shown to decrease DRPs among elderly people without dementia. Objectives The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence of DRPs among elderly people with dementia, by using STOPP/START. The objective was also to compare number and type of DRPs identified by STOPP/START with DRPs identified by clinical pharmacists among the same population. Method Extract from the medical journal was used to identify DRPs of 212 peoples’ drug list by using STOPP/START. The people were ≥ 65 years with dementia or cognitive impairment. An earlier study was performed in the same study population in 2012-2014, where DRPs were identified by clinical pharmacists in order to decrease number of rehospitalizations. Results STOPP/START identified DRPs in 72.2 % of the people, compared with 66.0 % identified by the clinical pharmacists. The number of DRPs identified by the different methods was 326 and 310 respectively. Different types of DRPs were identified with the different tools.

Icho and Yoshida have won gold medals at their previous three Olympic Games and will be favorites to go where no wrestler – male or female – has gone before when they arrive on the mats at Carioca Arena 2 on Wednesday and Thursday. Greco-Roman legend Alexander KARELIN (RUS) is the only wrestler to have had a glimpse of a fourth gold medal when he advanced to the 130kg final at Sydney 2000. He had to settle for the silver medal, however, after a 1-0 loss to Rulon GARDNER (USA). According to an IOC Factsheet released October 2015, the only winners of four gold medals in the same individual events in the Olympic Games are Paul ELVSTROM (DEN, 1948-1960) in sailing, Al OERTER (USA, 1956-1968) in the discus throw and Carl LEWIS (USA, 1984-1996) in the long jump. Icho will get first chance at a fourth gold medal on Wednesday, August 17, when the women’s welterweights (58kg) take to the mat, while Yoshida takes her shot the following day at 53kg.
