Volunteers Don't Get Paid, Not Because They're Worthless, but Because They're Priceless Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless. ..to a very long awaited newsletter from the NE Region. Time seems to have flown by this year and already the majority of the season has been completed, with autumn now in full swing. Unfortunately our committee members have struggled this year combining work commitments along with their volunteered duties on the committee and as such it has affected the production of newsletters for you all—for which we apologise. However… better late than never—here we are with another edition—which brings you some round ups of recent stories from across the club and marshalling world, as well as announcements and booking details for AGMs, Training Days and the 2017 British F1 GP. Please remember, the committee are volunteers working on your behalf—so please help us to support you—by sending in stories, pictures, requests for future articles in future newsletters—as well as maybe consider standing on the committee and helping out yourself! In the meantime—Happy Reading—and we look forward to seeing you at an event soon... Regards The NE Committee Help us raise funds for the Air Ambulance! You can shop with over 2,000 well known stores and each will donate up to 15% of what you spend. For example, John Lewis will donate 2.5%, Amazon 2.5%, The Body Shop 10%, some insurance retailers will even donate up to £30 simply for taking out a policy with them! It doesn't cost you a penny more—The great thing is it won't cost you any more, plus we've got lots of voucher codes and special discounts so you can actually save money while you help your good cause. There is no cost for the good cause either – our service is totally free. How to generate donations—It's very simple - once you've registered with us, when you shop with one of our retailers, our system makes a note of your purchase, collects the donation from the retailer and passes it to your chosen good cause. That's it! No hassle for you, we do all the hard work while you shop as your normally would. www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/marshallingtotties/ 2 The Boss’s Babble... • Lincolnshire Remembrance User Guide for Submitting Information
How to… submit a war memorial record to 'Lincs to the Past' Lincolnshire Remembrance A guide to filling in the 'submit a memorial' form on Lincs to the Past Submit a memorial Please note, a * next to a box denotes that it needs to be completed in order for the form to be submitted. If you have any difficulties with the form, or have any questions about what to include that aren't answered in this guide please do contact the Lincolnshire Remembrance team on 01522 554959 or [email protected] Add a memorial to the map You can add a memorial to the map by clicking on it. Firstly you need to find its location by using the grab tool to move around the map, and the zoom in and out buttons. If you find that you have added it to the wrong area of the map you can move it by clicking again in the correct location. Memorial name * This information is needed to help us identify the memorial which is being recorded. Including a few words identifying what the memorial is, what it commemorates and a placename would be helpful. For example, 'Roll of Honour for the Men of Grasby WWI, All Saints church, Grasby'. Address * If a full address, including post code, is available, please enter it here. It should have a minimum of a street name: it needs to be enough information to help us identify approximately where a memorial is located, but you don’t need to include the full address. For example, you don’t need to tell us the County (as we know it will be Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire or North East Lincolnshire), and you don’t need to tell us the village, town or parish because they can be included in the boxes below.
