Introduction This appendix provides a County Economic Profile, Vulnerability Profile and a more detailed vulnerability analysis of critical facilities and corresponding maps. B. County Profile This section of the report, and the data contained herein, is provided to capture a profile of the county including geographic and economic characteristics not previously discussed in Chapter I. In addition, many of the critical infrastructure partners including private sector and public utilities are identified. Critical Facility Vulnerability Analysis Considerable staff resources were expended to update the critical facilities inventory. Specific attention was paid to health care facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes; emergency response agencies, hazardous materials, mobile home parks, schools and colleges and community centers. Where possible, communications resources and community infrastructure /utilities such as water and waste-water facilities were located by latitude and longitude and overlaid on the storm tide limits map. Each facility has the facility type, name, location, elevation, flood plain, fire and results of the 2010 surge analysis based on the most accurate topographic data and the SLOSH model. The Critical Facilities Inventory (Data base) includes a comprehensive list of critical facilities identified by the State and County Emergency Management Agencies. This inventory is not published as part of the report. However, selected facilities which may require evacuation or mitigation are identified in the tables and maps which follow. The tables indicate vulnerability from storm surge (based on the SLOSH model), freshwater flooding (based on the FEMA Flood Maps) and wildfire (Wildfire Interface/Levels of Concern). The illustration below identifies the potential storm surge heights on county landmarks. This illustration is provided for public information purposes only. The maps following tables IVD-1 and IVD-2 are illustrated at an elevation of 20’, which is used to indicate a worst case scenario. All Hazards Guide Preparedness: It’s Everyone’s Responsibility Lee County 2017-2018 *The All Hazards Guide is also available on our website: www.LeeEOC.com. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY To the Residents and Visitors of Southwest Florida, Some of you consider Lee County, Florida, your family’s vacation destination, while many others enjoy Southwest Florida year-round as they live, work and play. Lee County, located along Southwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, has a year-round population of nearly 700,000 residents, but climbs to over 1.3 million during the winter tourist, spring break and baseball spring-training seasons. While we all enjoy beautiful weather and lifestyle that Southwest Florida provides, we must also be prepared to overcome occasional threats. Each year is different, and history only reveals the past. However, we learn more each year, and our preparations are more refined. Due to the unpredictability, preparing to respond to these hazards must be as much a part of our lives as driving to work, or walking on the beach. Most of us realize the important of creating a plan to address as least some common hazards. Unfortunately, realization and preparation rarely prevent a disaster. Well prepared people and property survive more often, recover more quickly, and return to normal more easily. At the Lee County Department of Public Safety, we ask that you go just a bit further, and develop a “culture of preparedness” in your home. In doing so, share the plans of preparedness with your family and friends. Emergency Preparation can seem a daunting task, but this All Hazards Guide is filled with information and resources to get you on your way! On the most fundamental level, preparation involves acknowledging the real threat, identifying your options ahead of time, securing supplies and resources, and then when necessary, putting your plan into action.

The M Street Journal Radio's Journal of Record NEW YORK NASHVILLE January 6, 1999 Vol. 16 No. 1 MEGA -GROUPS GO DIGITAL. In OWNERSHIP, that is -- In a truly amazing development, eleven of the largest U.S. radio groups are taking an ownership position in Digital Audio Broadcasting developer USA Digital Radio. The USADR consortium began in the early 1990s with backing from CBS, Group W and Gar-- The surviving owner is CBS -- and M Street got very curious when we spotted an FTC filing a couple of weeks ago about CBS' ownership of USADR. Now the cat's out of the bag and it's a HUGE story (and one that Lucent may not love to hear). With one fell swoop, USA Digital guarantees itself backing from twelve of the country's biggest radio groups, with combined revenue of over $5 billion. Here are the eleven newest broadcast owners of USADR, listed alphabetically: Chancellor, Citadel, Clear Channel, Cox, Cumulus Media, Emmis, Entercom, Heftel, Jacor, Radio One and Sinclair. A new non -broadcast investor is Chase Capital Partners. USA Digital is still developing its In -Band On- Channel systems for AM and FM DAB. But if you're Lucent, which just spun off a separate company last year to join the DAB Derby -- this announcement isn't good news. We'll follow the story for you this year, week by week. IT AIN'T "YOUNG COUNTRY" NOW, PODNUR. Infinity is de- emphasizing the "Young Country" package at the first station to pioneer the concept back in 1992 -- KYNG, Dallas.
