Andy is an associate in the Litigation & Arbitration Group who specialises in the resolution of complex, cross-border and high value commercial disputes. He has experience in High Court litigation, international arbitration and various other methods of alternative dispute resolution. Andy has practiced across a broad range of industries in cases relating to energy, infrastructure, professional negligence, IT, space, restructuring, ﬁnancial services and banking.

Primary Focus & Experience

Key experience includes:Acting for Qatari respondent in an ICC arbitration relating to delays and additional costs arising out of a US$1.6 billion polysilicon plant project.

Advising a multinational IT services provider in relation to a dispute with a subcontractor over the delivery of a fieldwork management system for a major infrastructure customer. Representing a group of creditors holding US$3.2bn of term loans in a contentious restructuring of the debtor group under a scheme of arrangement. Acting for a European gas supplier in a £100m dispute arising out of a long- term gas supply agreement relating to a UK based power plant. Acting for a governmental export credit agency in a High Court litigation arising out of the financing and leasing of an aircraft. Acting for a satellite in a High Court claim against a telecoms customer in South Asia for breach of a contract relating to delivery of satellite bandwidth. Representing a UK bank in settling a claim with an Asian shipping company relating to the clearing of freight futures and options. Defending a global asset management firm against a claim for professional negligence brought by a pension fund arising out of dealings in sub-prime MBS. Acting for an international investment bank in relation to a claim for US$300m brought by a Bahraini counterparty to a repurchase agreement. Representing at FTSE 250 company in a claim worth over £1bn against its auditors for professional negligence. Representing a multinational company in a LCIA arbitration claims for US$65m relating to the joint development of a power plant in West Africa.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Andy co-authored a chapter in the ICLG Guide to Class & Group Actions 2014 comparing the collective redress regime in England & Wales with that in Australia.
