This report informs Members of the outcome of our entry into the Yorkshire in Bloom competition 2008 and the work undertaken in relation to the entry. Background 2. The Yorkshire in Bloom competition is an annual event, which York entered last year for the first time since 1998,and were awarded a silver Gilt, with the comments from the judges saying:. ‘An excellent tour of the City of York. The entrant had obviously studied the criteria and every aspect of the competition very well. The floral and sustainable planting clearly complimented the magnificent architecture of this wonderful city. The many diverse groups, individuals, local authority staff and personnel that we met during our tour enthused with civic pride. With such an excellent return to the Yorkshire in Bloom campaign and with a concerted effort reflecting the areas for future development, the City of York has all the attributes to achieve gold in the 2008 campaign and could easily aspire to a future national Britain in Bloom entry. 3. We have for the last 12 months continued to build upon the excellent work which led to last years results using the in bloom committee to coordinate all our efforts in this area, representatives from the following areas sat on the committee: council officers, members, city centre partnership, York press, Askham Bryan College, York St John University, volunteers from the public (ex council officers) and a representative from the Acomb traders.

A NOTE ON THE PUBLICATION DATES OF CHRIS TOPIIE.R LE VE TT ’S A VOYAGE INTO NEW ENGLAND Christopher Levett’s/4 Voyage into New England is a well known narrative and promotional argument for colonization, and it has frequently been cited by modern scholars.1 Its com­ position and publishing history have, however, been treated in misleading fashion. The most substantial study of Levett is the indispensable account of James Phinney Baxter which indi­ cates that the tract was written and published in 1628.2 There was indeed an edition in 1628, and the circumstances surround­ ing its publication are clear enough. Levett was the beneficiary of an extraordinary proclamation issued by Charles I in Febru­ ary 1628 calling on the ecclesiastical authorities to take up a collection for the maintenance of the plantation in New Eng­ land; the monies were to be paid to Levett who was, by the same proclamation, appointed governor.3 The publication of Levett’s account at this juncture was clearly designed to stimu­ late support for the collection which was being undertaken at a most inauspicious moment.

The UNAIDS 90:90:90 targets The continuum of HIV care illustrates key measures of the HIV patient pathway and provides an opportunity to assess progress towards the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) 90:90:90 targets of 90% of people living with HIV being diagnosed, 90% of people diagnosed receiving ART and 90% of people on treatment virally suppressed and unable to pass on the infection [15]. The UK met the UNAIDS targets in 2017; 92% (Credible interval (Crl) 88 to 94%) of the estimated 101,600 (CrI 99,300 to 106,400) people living with HIV infection in the UK were diagnosed, 98% of people diagnosed were receiving treatment and 97% of people receiving treatment were virally suppressed (Figure 1). Overall, 87% of people living with HIVUK in the UKcascade were estimated of to have HIV an undetectable care viral load and therefore unable to pass on the infection. These have been cataloged as they have been received, or in the order that they were initially organized. It was not felt in preparing this final version that a re-cataloging was necessary due to the versatility of the indexing systems used. There are twelve divisions to the PFRC: 1) Documents; 2) Letters; 3) Notes; 4) Family Histories; 5) Journals & Diaries; 6) Manuscripts; 7) Photographs; 8) Maps; 9) Books; 10) Genealogies; 11) Bibliography; and 12) Indexes. The collection that follows - Notes - is divided into several volumes, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, etc. These notes do not contain all of the material that I have collected, but they are a compilation of much of it. Some information went directly into histories, family group records, pedigree charts and short biographies. Copies of these volumes have been given to: 1) Special Collections, Marriott Library, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah; 2) The Church Historical Library, Salt Lake City, Utah; 3) Special Collections, Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah; and 4) The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum, Salt Lake City, Utah. Additional copies have been given to each of my siblings and to some of our children.

    16 Thus the line of Christopher Levett contained no near relative named Thomas. Itmay be that our Thomas Levet was a distant connection, but this is unlikely. New information concerning Christopher Levett's last voyage to New England is contained in a Chancery proceeding begun in 1631 by his widowagainst Thomas Wright and Robert Gough of Bristol, owners of the ship Porcupine. The proceedings give in detail the sailing agreement and mention the grant of 6000 acres to Levett. Concerning John Leavitt of Hingham, Mass., Mr. Sheldon Leavitt, Jr., writes that the earliest known record appears inDorchester, Mass., where in 1634 land was granted tohim by the town. In 1636 he was made a freeman of Hingham, where first a house-lot and in the course of time much other land was granted to him. His first wife (possibly, according to Pope, the Mary Lovitt of the Dorchester Church) died at Hingham 4 July 1646, and he married for his second wife, 16 Dec. 1646, Sarah, daughter of Edward Gilman,then of Hingham, Mass., and later of Exeter, N. H. For many years he was a deacon of the church at Hingham and a selectman of the town, which he represented for several sessions in the General Court. "He died in 1691, leaving a will,filed inBoston, inwhich he calls himself a tayler," and spells his name as above. Some of hig children moved to Exeter, and became the ancestors of a distinguished family of Leavitts there, among whom was Dudley Leavitt, the compiler <tf an excellent Farmer's Almanac.
