July 2017 Dear Supporter: Greetings once again on behalf of the Board of Directors of the St. Peter Claver Foundation! It has truly been an honor and blessing to be of service to the St. Peter Claver Foundation and complete my BOARD OF DIRECTORS second year as President of the Board of Directors. Dr. Geralyn C. Shelvin Through the many programs and initiatives funded and President administered through the Foundation, we have truly been able to William Everette, Esq. The mission of the Foundation is to promote and enhance the AT-RISK YOUTH PROGRAMS charitable goals of the Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. by addressing the multiple charitable needs and aspirations of the Order’s ERADICATION OF POVERTY members, its parishes, and the Catholic community. HOUSING ASSISTANCE VISIO N HEALTH & WELLNESS We envision a vibrant strong healthy community in service to God, to Church, to key Stakeholders and to itself resulting in a higher RELIGIOUS SUPPORT quality of life for communities served. NEW PROGRAM INITIATIVES & ENHANCEMENTS

Disaster Relief Assistance Program: Provides support for members of the Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary as well as Churches housing Claver units affected by natural disasters. In 2016, the program assisted approximately 100 Clavers affected by natural disasters.

Increased Educational Giving: Contributed to the inaugural Office of Black Catholics Bishop Carmon Endowed Scholarship Fund, provided 26 scholarships on behalf of the National Scholarship program, and an additional 3 scholarships through the Augustus / Tolton Fund to students at Xavier University of Louisiana, the only historically Black Catholic University in the country. ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENTS

 Initiated Foundation website analysis and redesign process  Improved Annual Report presentation and distribution  Began issuing Annual Giving Statements to donors  Improved efficiency of application process for National Programs

Youth Micro-Grants GiveNOLA Day Fundraiser In Collaboration with the Greater New Orleans YOUTH Foundation, The St. Peter Claver Foundation MICRO-GRANTS participates annually in the GiveNOLA Day, held the first Tuesday of May. Online contributions ANNUAL FUNDRAISER made on this day go to support the Order’s Youth Micro-Grants Program and are eligible for matching funds and donation bonuses.

We are proud to be the Charitable Arm of the Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary! The Knights and Ladies make great contributions in service and funding. 3rd Degree members contributed $73,155.48 in restricted funds to support the Order’s National Programs (Human Development, Scholarship, Sickle Cell, Charity, and Soaring High) and the 4th Degree LOG members contributed $15,243.50 in support of their two major charitable programs (Educate the Religious and Partners in Education).

Participants engage in the “Human Knot” leadership and teamwork training exercise as part of a Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary Youth Program sponsored by the St. Peter Calver Foundation.
