Budapest and its surroundings Day 1 | ORIGEN - BUDAPEST Upon arrival to Budapest Airport transfer to the hotel. Check-in and rest of the day free to explore the capital of Budapest. Overnight in Budapest. Day 2 | BUDAPEST (Private city tour in Pest) After breakfast in the morning enjoy a city tour with an English-Speaking local guide. You will walk through the centre and Budapest and you will see the most important sights like the Parliament, the basilica, and the Chain Bridge. We can adapt the city tour to your interest. Rest of the day fee for own discoveries. Overnight in Budapest. Day 3 | BUDAPEST (Private city tour in Buda) After breakfast in the morning enjoy a city tour with an English Speaking local guide. Today you will see the Buda part, walk in the castle district with enter the Matthias Church. Overnight in Budapest. Day 4 | BUDAPEST – VÁC – VISEGRÁD - SZENTENDRE After breakfast we will take you to the northern part of Hungary and show you the Danube Bend from a new aspect. The first stop is Vác, located 35 kilometres north of Budapest on the eastern bank of the Danube river. With your local guide you will walk along the Danube, through the centre and visit the cathedral. We continue towards Visegrád and we cross the Danube by ferry. In Visegrád you can admire the magnificent view of the Danube Bend from the citadel. Lunch in a local restaurant. The last shop is Szentendre - San Andrés, little artist village 20 kilometres from Budapest. Free time for a walk across its narrow streets or for a coffee in a Café by the river. Overnight in Budapest. Day 5 | BUDAPEST – KECSKEMÉT – THE HUNGARIAN PUSZTA Today we will show you the real Hungarian Puszta. First of all we visit Kecskemét, the capital of the region. This town is well-known for its Apricot Pálinka, the beautiful buildings of Art Nouveau style ornamented with coloured ceramics, and also the "Kodály-method" named after Zoltán Kodály the world-famous composer who was born in Kecskemét. We walk through the city center and hear the carillon which is operating in a volume of 3 octaves since 1983 at the balcony of the City Hall. After the city tour we drive to a typical farm of the region. Here you can get acquainted with the typycal Hungarian breeds like the “mangalica” pig, the Hungarian Steppe Cattle, the “puli” herding dog. The horsemen take you for a short cart-tour to the nearby puszta. You can see the horse show and after it have a typical Hungarian lunch with goulash soup, wine and gipsy music. We return to Budapest in the late afternoon hours. Overnight in Budapest. Day 6 | BUDAPEST – ORIGIN After breakfast transfer to the airport.
