Gospel Chariot Missions Gospel Chariot Missions Great News!!!! Gospel Chariot Missions is pleased to announce that, Lord willing, Machona Monyamane will be working with Gospel Chariot Mission. Machona has a bachelors degree from Harding University and a Masters from Nations University. He is working on a Masters in counseling. Machona was our first driver evangelist for Gospel Chariot Mission. He has an incredible story. (see inside) Machona and his family are moving to eastern Pretoria, RSA for a church plant and to help work with Gospel Chariots in 15 countries, and to develop a training center for training soul winners, teachers, youth and leaders throughout Africa. Here is his vision for the work in his own words: God’s Family experiencing reconciliation and ground breaking church plant in Eastern Pretoria, South Africa, New GCM campus, multiracial church. The Great-Commission compels us to live incarnationally, evangelize relationally, and make disciples with culturally relevant methods. He will work with Gospel Chariot Missions to help make disciples that disciple, plant churches that multiply, and proclaim and participate in the Kingdom of God. God is Good all the time. All funds should be sent to Northside Church of Christ, P.O. Box 51, Benton AR. 72015. The sponsoring congregation for GCM is the Northside Church of Christ in Benton, AR. Blog - gospelchariot.org Phone 501 249 3641 email - [email protected] [email protected], lorem ipsum dolor issue, date What’s the story? Machona will live in Bronkhorstspruit South Africa. Bronkhorstspruit is a small developing area 50 km east of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. It is located along the N4 highway towards Witbank. It lies on the border between the Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces. It also consists of three townships called Zithobeni, Rethabiseng and Ekangala. The population of the town and townships is 104,14. The touching part about these stats is that there are only two small congregations of the churches of Christ in this area. Machona will be establishing local congregations but will have major responsibilities Nationwide. For example two countries can easily be accessed from Bronkhorstspruit. Machona, Lord willing, is joining Gospel Chariot Missions working not only to work in Bronkhorstspruit but the continent of Africa. He will be helping overseeing 11 Gospel Chariots working in 15 countries with many more to come. Machona wrote these words, “I will be coming home to the work that taught me all I know about church planting, evangelism in all its shapes. Gospel Chariot Mission is about a continent not just a country. Our goal is to establish churches that can sustain themselves. Join us, join the dream team and make difference in South Africa and Africa.” GCM About a Continent Mentoring and Spiritual Leadership. Working with George and Ria Funk and becoming part of the Gospel Chariot team again, is life altering. George taught and baptized me in 1996 and as I think about working again with GCM in this church plant and continent outreach, many “precious memories flood my soul.” George is like a father to me and being mentored and spiritually led by this great servant is humbling and assuring that great things are going to happen for the glory of God. All funds should be sent to Northside Church of Christ, PO Box 51, Benton AR. 72015. 2 lorem ipsum dolor issue, date Machona’s Story - Jesus Didn’t Give Instructions in Black and White "I never liked church. ... It was a symbol of the system that oppressed us." Thankfully for hundreds of souls, Machona Monyamane changed his opinion of church after he became a student in the World Bible School correspondence ministry. The native of South Africa has helped plant congregations and baptized untold numbers of his countrymen. He currently is a student at Harding University in Searcy, Ark. A former communist sympathizer, Monyamane enrolled in WBS after he saw his roommate studying a lesson. He wasn't looking for a relationship with Christ. He was looking for ammunition to debate against Christianity in South Africa. His teacher patiently "answered my stupid questions," Monyamane said. After months of back- and-forth correspondence, Morgan asked Monyamane to get in contact with a South African preacher who would give him some additional books on Christianity and answer any questions he had. The minister's name: George Funk. Monyamane knew immediately he was white - one of the oppressors. Nonetheless, he found the courage to call Funk and set up a meeting for May 18, 1996. "We talked for two hours," Monyamane said. Every time he asked a question, George "put a smile on his face and a finger on the passage" in the Bible. After the discussion, Monyamane decided to leave communism behind and become a Christian. They found a swimming pool with locked gate and looked for the owner. Though apartheid had ended in 1991, racial tensions still existed, and the pair weren't sure how the pool's owner would react. Unable to locate the owner, Funk decided they should jump the fence, perform the baptism and, if necessary, beg the owner's pardon. Machona went through GCM training and became the first driver evangelist for the first Gospel Chariot. In the years since, Machona has preached to thousands and performed hundreds, possibly thousands, of baptisms among his countrymen. Monyamane is thankful for Christians in the U.S. for sacrificing their funds. Now "we're serving Christ together," he said, noting the Great Commission delivered by Jesus in Matthew 28: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." When it comes to taking the Gospel to the world, Jesus "didn't give instructions in black and white." 3 lorem ipsum dolor issue, date Why Support Machona? • Machona and his wife Thabelo are a great team. • Machona is a powerful preacher and experienced church planter. • He is respected throughout Africa. • He has great training and knows the word of God. • He will be a great help in teaching and developing short term schools. • He has traveled all over Africa driving and preaching on the Gospel Chariot. • He is organized and will be a great help to the GCM team coordinating the Chariots running in 15 countries. • He has been a very successful local minister and is proven to be able to help build multi racial congregations. • He is a great soul winner and leader. • He loves God and His Word.
