Introduction

Health is the level of functional and metabolic efficiency of a living being. In humans, it is the general condition of a person in mind, body and spirit, usually meaning to be free from illness, injury or pain. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in 1946 as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Although this definition has been subjected to controversy, in particular as having a lack of operational value and the problem created by use of the word "complete", it remains the most enduring. Classification systems such as the WHO Family of International Classifications, including the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), are commonly used to define and measure the components of health. Generally, the context in which an individual lives is of great importance on health status and quality of life. It is increasingly recognized that health is maintained and improved not only through the advancement and application of health science, but also through the efforts and intelligent lifestyle choices of the individual and society. According to the World Health Organization, the main determinants of health include the social and economic environment, the physical environment, and the person's individual characteristics and behaviors. As a primary concern of every family and an important role in the society, the need of the community in health services takes place to serve the people and to live an abundant healthy life. House Bill no. 425 of Congressman Erbie A. Fabian the Need to immediately upgrade the Facilities and personnel of the Medical Center to meet with its current standard as a 250-bed capacity hospital. The congressman explained that the bed capacity of ZCMC has to be increased to cater the volume of patients in Zamboanga City.

The proposed Zamboanga City West Coast Medical Complex (ZCWCMC) is a level 2 Hospital with Mental Health Center and Medical Mall. A government institution to support Zamboanga City Medical Center to accommodate health services and balance the acceleration of growth and development of Zamboanga City, a need for future expansion of health services and further medical assistance.

Further more, this proposal emphasizes that WCMC can support the Zamboanga City Medical Center in terms of medical facilities and services for the community. Commonly, this WCMC has a level 2 type of hospital with Administrative service, Clinical Services, Out Patient Departments, Surgical and Obstetrical Service, Nursing Unit, Central Sterilizing and Supply Room, a Mental Health Center that would support the Psychiatric Department of Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) that is merely inconvenient to serve patient with mental illness cause of congested wards and insufficient facilities, and a medical mall with a medical and commercial complex, a complex of facilities under one roof offering diagnostics, primary and outpatient care, a pharmacy, and therapy along with banks, dry cleaners, and restaurants for patients and their families.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

One of the major problems here in Zamboanga City is the annual increase of population; in this sense case growth of diseases rampantly increases due to lack of medical assistance and facilities that will accommodate the West coast area of Zamboanga City. Moreover, as stated in the census survey, counts for the city from the year 2000 to 2007 it translated to an average annual population growth rate of 3.54 percent wherein it is bigger from past seven years. There are also factors that effects the population growth in Zamboanga City like the neighboring municipalities, residents for example , , Tawi-Tawi, Sibugay, and Zamboanga del Norte which congests the city hospitals due to lack of medical facilities coming from their respective municipalities. In terms of this statement, theoretically it is supported by the following question: 1. Who would benefit, serve and realize the importance of the proposal? 2. What are the possibilities that would make West Coast Medical Center be Prioritize in Zamboanga City? 3. Can this proposal support the Zamboanga City Medical Center? 4. How can the modern design of the structure be compatible in a Spanish character?

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Medical medication has become increasingly important in recent years. Delivery, transportation and distribution services are examples of critical points. The complexity of the problem derives from its multi-objective character since there have been contrasting factors that must be taken in consideration. The problem has common characteristics with transportation, assistance and services. The Analytic Hierarchy Process was used to build a decision problem that synthesized economic and technical performance as well as social, human and environmental factors. By this mean, this problem proposal targets to have a Medical center with Medical Mall, first of its kind in Zamboanga City.

To justify this, these are list of specific objectives to invoke the medicine knowledge of the city. Specific: to have a well facilitated medical center; to help accommodate medical assistance to people in and out of west coast area of Zamboanga; to cater some neighboring barangays of Sibucco municipality where in great need of medical assistance and services; to serves as a support of Zamboanga City Medical Center in terms of medical assistance; to give an easy and less travel time to patients with in the influence area that would require immediate medical treatment; to offer ambulatory care and diagnostics at one site; and to be an employment generating instrument for the people living near West coast.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This proposal can help constituents from West Coast area of Zamboanga in terms of:

People –Primarily, as the benefactors of Medical Assistance. Since there is congestion due to population growth, where in hospitals here is lacking of facilities and services. By this proposal it can help them meet their needs in terms of medical assistance and services; Illnesses - Described as the subjective perception by a patient of an objectively defined disease. With this factor it is subjected important to consider which common problem is by every people; Budget- Provision of affordable medical service to its people; Accessibility – By means of this factor site strategically accessible to people; Services – in terms of services rich and poor constituents can be ensure to be provided with corresponding medical attention and all services needed are located in one area;

The proposed ZCWCMC takes pride in its well proposed process and comprehensive plan, have acknowledge of the following limitations:

The proposed project is approximately limited for barangays near West Coast area of Zamboanga City and some neighboring barangays of Sibucco Zamboanga Del Norte.

The research is made base on the existing available data. The utilities layout of the proposed Zamboanga City West Coast Medical Complex such as water supply, electrical power distribution, and drainage system was based on the basic needs of the constituents. The proposed project is limited only to three major structures: a) Level Two Hospital b) Mental Health Center c) Medical Mall Boundary this research will focus on the length of West Coast of Zamboanga City. Specifically from Calarian to Labuan.

METHODOLOGY

The gathered data will not be accomplished without the use of some methods for the proposed study. The study of this proposed project indicates intensive research, observational methods and interviewing techniques.

The technical aspect of project will deal with using basic study that will be gathered from different sectors of the city government related laws, ordinances, and regulations, history of medical centers, survey maps, population growth, land use preference and other reference that might have solve the problems.

The systematic observational method will be applied in the field research in conducting an actual site visit, establishing photos and apparent characters and identifying possible problems and possibilities, making a summary description of the place and its context and taking possible influences on the proposed structures.

TIME FRAME

In a span of 5 months, from two to three weeks, the researchers have to find a problem proposal together with initial data gathering and maps. Two weeks is allotted for data gathering such as climate, weather, soil, road networking, topography, and land use. Two to three weeks allotted for site selection and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

INSTRUMENTS

In terms of instruments, researchers adopt several gadgets and stuffs to accommodate different data gathering wherein a big help in terms of reliable sources such as:

a) Computer – A desktop particularly to edit, store and evaluate the different information gathered by the researcher. b) Universal Serial Bus (USB) - a small electronic storing device for greater capacity compared to diskettes. Use to store and transfer soft copy files and information from its sources. c) Digital cameras – this state of the art camera to take pictures from the chosen lots for site surveying and investigation. This device is able to store and digitally process pictures at greater number and convenience machine. d) Photocopy machine – a machine to photocopy original documents and maps respectively. e) Steel tape – For measuring the some existing objects and features in the site. f) Internet – for communication system that connect group of computers and database all over the world. g) Architectural Books – for guidelines in designing, planning of any structures.

HISTORY OF THE PLACE

The area around was occupied by indigenous people as early as 30,000 years ago. The first inhabitants were the Subanons and Lutaos and later, the Islamized ethnic groups of Samlas, Bajaus, Tausugs, and Yakans.

Oral history accounts note that the early Austronesian settlers – the highlander Subanons or the people who live by the suba or river and the Lutaos of the plains called the place “Jambangan” which meant a “place abundant with flowers”. Eventually, the lowlanders (the descendants of the early Austronesian settlers), the boat dwellers and the gypsy tribes- the Bajaus and Samls collectively called the place of “Samboangan”. Apparently, “Samboangan came from the word “jambangan”. In one of the earliest Spanish maps, the place was already called Samboangan, which meant as “docking point”. Samboangan, though to have come frome the word “sabuan” – the wooden pole used by the Samals and Bajaus in pushing their boats on shallow waters. To this day, a would still call a boat oar “saguan”. The early Spaniards called the plece “El Pueblo de Lutao” or the Place of the Lutaos.

Fort pilar, now an outdoor principal Marian shrine, was founded in 1635 by the Spanish colonial government. The fort was the focus of a number of battles between Moro pirates and Spanish soldiers until 1718 when modifications to the fort were made. The city was the capital of the Republic of Zamboanga during its brief existence from May 18, 1899, to November 16, 1899.

During the American colonial period, Zamboanga City hosted a number of American regional governors, including General John J. Pershing who was military commander/governor of the Moros Province from 1909 to 1914. Gen. “Blackjack” Pershing became the Supreme Commander of the American Expeditionary Force in Europe during World War 1 when the US entered the war in 1916. The entire of was administered directly from the city, effectively making the Zamboanga Mindanao’s first and only Capital City. Soon after the establishment of the Commonwealth Government,

Mindanao was divided into the Provinces of Zamboanga, Lanao, Misamis, Agusan, Surigao, Davao, Bukidnon, and Cotabato.

Prior to World War II, Zamboanga City was the center of commerce, trade, and government of Mindanao Island, being capital of the Moro Province. Pre-World War II, Petit barracks was where part of the US Army’s 43rd Infantry Regiment was stationed. When the Japanese invaded the , the Japanese occupying forces landed at Zamboanga on March 2, 1942. They established a defense head quarters, which was eventually overtaken by U.S. and Filipino forces in 1945.

For much of the 1950’s, the mayor of Zamboanga City was Cesar Climaco, a flamboyant personality who pursued policies of good governance and cleanliness. Later a prominent critic of Ferdinand Marcos, Climaco again became a mayor in 1980, at a time of growing violence in the city. He was assassinated in 1984.

Zamboanga City has had a diverse heritage. It has been, over time, a major Spanish fort, a U.S. governed capital of the Moro Province of Mindanao Island, one of the first chartered city in the Philippine Commonwealth, and a war-torn town after a World War II during and after the Japanese occupation. Zamboanga became a strife-torn city under martial law and recurrent terrorist attacks have tarnished an otherwise spectacular, if exotic, image of Southern Elegance and refinement seen in but a few other Philippine cities. More recently, the city helped elevate the entire the Zamboanga Peninsula region when it topped Gross Domestic Productivity (GDP) growth among all other areas in the entire Philippines in 2006. Zamboanga City is also highly regarded as the “Sardined Capital of the Philippines” as a hefty 80% of canned sardines consumed in the Philippines originate from this traditional sea-faring port.

The Philippine Department of Tourism is helping Celso L. Lobregat, the city mayor, to promote the city as an attractive tourist destination. Its numerous natural, historical, and cultural tourist attractions are a boon to new travelers to this ancient “City of Flowers”.

In 2007, Zamboanga was divided into two separate Congressional districts in the Eastern and Western areas of the city (including the city proper), as a result of the 2000

Census change in population count. After the elections of 2007 Erbie Fabian re-elected as congressman, became the first representative of the city’s second (east) district. Maria Isabelle Climaco is the representative of the first (west) district in the congress.

SITE INVESTIGATION

A. Project description

The thesis proposal is originally a Medical Complex. The concept is to establish a Medical complex with complete facilities, laboratory examination, and Medical professional can be located in one site as a one stop shop, and also to support the ZCMC with present congestion on the patient and lack of medical facilities in Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), where patient coming from neighboring towns and municipality goes to the ZCMC, and the problem with patient where they are going far distant for laboratory checkups. House Bill no. 425 of Congressman Erbie A. Fabian the Need to immediately upgrade the Facilities and personnel of the Zamboanga City Medical Center to meet with its current standard as a 250-bed capacity hospital. The congressman explained that the bed capacity of ZCMC has to be increased to cater the volume of patients in Zamboanga City. The Group proposes the project title “Zamboanga City West Coast Medical Complex”. The proposed solution provides a development plan for a Medical Complex specifically for the Zamboanga City West Coast. Aside from the Hospital, a Mental health Center, and a Medical Mall are also considered and included in the development to serve the far West Barangays.

SITE CRITERIA

The Group engages in a site selection procedure to determine the best site for the development. The group researches on the three candidate sites at three Zamboanga City West Coast barangays: Sinunuc, Recodo, and Ayala. Preferably, the concerned lots must be a government owned, as much as possible, if not the government can still acquire the area thru resorting to the Expropriation Law (the Law of Eminent Domain). The group prepared the necessary criteria for selecting the best of three sites. The criterion such as the population of the recipient and accessibility and strategic location are the priority bases of the appropriateness of the site. The proponents selected the following criterion as bases, of determining the suitable 3 candidates site and consequently qualifying the most appropriate site for the proposed Zamboanga West Medical Complex. The criteria are as follows:

A. Accessibility and strategic Location

The accessibility of the site via decent and furnished road, preferably via the city’s highway road is a favorable factor to be considered. Proximity to such a route will facilitate the convenience of transport and access of the public to the vicinity and vice versa. The site must also be in a strategic location. An appropriate location with reference to two conditions; distance to the City proper, Distance to the nearest Hospitals, and Distance with reference to proposed jurisdiction.

The first of the two conditions maybe less prioritized than the former but nonetheless important. The former condition refers to the location of the site within the proposed jurisdiction of the Medical Facility. The site that is somewhat at the midpoint of the said jurisdiction will be favorable.

B. Population

The total population of the recipient site is a major factor that determines the suitability of the site. A great number of people naturally acts as a magnet for socio-

economic developments and is an indication of an existing synergy of business and industry.

C. Utility

The site with the most efficient utility system such as power, drainage and water supply will be the most appropriate site the for the development which will contribute mush to the functionality of the Structures.

D. Land Use and Zoning

The site having the appropriate land use and zoning development description would also greatly determine the appropriateness of the site for a government complex development. The recipient barangay categorized as a secondary development zone will better accommodate the development.

E. Peace and Order

The Peace and order condition of the recipient barangay will also determine the safety and security of the site’s environs.

F. Physical Characteristics

Topographically, the site that is relatively flat to 10% sloped terrain at the most is desirable for the development. The climate is uniform to all three sites. The site which is regularly quadrilateral is more desirable.

G. Communication Services and Infrastructures

The site that has the most communication services and facilities available in the vicinity is better suited for the development. Likewise the more of infrastructure development it is proximate to, the better it is suited.

H. Natural Characteristics

The site with the rich greeneries and plant life could later contribute to the landscaping layouts of the developments. Beautiful scenic views visible from the site give a

reflective and serene experience to the end-users. On the contrary the site with overcrowded tree and plant materials may pose as a problem in the initial clearing operations.

SITE JUSTIFICATION

A. Accesibility and Strategic Location The three sites are all accessible by any means of land transportations but comparatively, Barangay Sinunuc is rated as excellent as it has an efficient access by any vehicles. In terms of strategic location and with reference to distance Sinunuc is relatively closest to the city proper of the three and desirably at the midpoint location of the proposed Zamboanga West Coast Medical Complex. On the contrary, Recodo and Ayala were considered as an industrial zone and it suffers from the industrial traffic. B. Population

Statistically the numbers of population in the three barangay are relatively near in thousand. But number of housing development and subdivision were greatly increasing in Sinunuc the number of people lives in the barangay also increases.

C. Utility

All the possible sites have complete utility systems, although comparatively, Sinunuc is most favorable as it has the most efficient electric and power system.

D. Land use and Zoning

Sinunuc is categorized as a Medium Density Residential Zone and both Ayala and Recodo are Industrial Zones. All sites are therefore not intended for institutional developments.

E. Peace and order

The barangay Sinunuc accordingly to records is more peaceful and orderly that the other two barangays.

F. Physical Characteristics

SITE ANALYSIS

A. Macro Site Analysis

1. Geographical Location

The City of Zamboanga is located at the southernmost tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula. It is approximately 460 nautical miles south of , 365 nautical miles northeast of Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia), 345 nautical miles northeast of Menado (Indonesia), bounded to the west by , on the east by the , and on the south by the and . Its distance from City is about 372.57 nautical miles, and is 340.17 nautical miles from Davao City.

2. Political Subdivision

There are 98 Barangays, six of which are newly created. To date, there are 28 urban barangays and 70 rural barangays within the 12 educational districts. By virtue of Republic Act No. 9269, dated March 19, 2004, the City of Zamboanga was hereby divided into two districts, the east (district 1) and the west coast (district 2) with the Veterans Avenue as the Boundary line.

3. Land Area

As of the August 1, 2007 census, more than 774,407 people and grew at 3.54% annually inhabit the approximately 142,089.9 hectares or 1,420.899 square kilometers of Zamboanga City. This does not include the area of 25 other islands within the territorial jurisdiction of the city, having an aggregate area of 6,248.50 hectares as verified by the Office of the City Engineer, making the total area of the city 148,338.49 hectares.

This total land area can still be increased by 42,000 hectares more with Limpapa and Lunday Valley areas, subjects of legal suits for territorial jurisdiction, should the courts decide in favor of the city against the province of Zamboanga del Norte.

The territorial jurisdiction of the city includes the islands of big and small Sta. Cruz, Tictabon, , , Tumalutap, as well as other numerous islands. The total land area of the city is recorded to be 463.5 square kilometers.

The city Falls under the third and fourth type of climate. The seasons are not very well pronounced, relatively dry from the months of December to April and Minimal rain May to August and wet in September. The city being outside the typhoon belt, it is rarely veisited by typhoons. The city has an average temperature of 38 0C. the hottest temperature was recorded at 29.3 degrees Celsius in July and the lowest temperature at 27.3 degrees Celsius in January. Tropical cyclones or typhoons rarely affect the city because it is particularly outside the typhoon belt.

5. Topography

The terrain is generally sloping from the shorelines, gradually becoming hilly and mountainous towards the center of the peninsula. There are some flat lands, most of which are narrow strips along the east coast. The urban center is generally flat with a gentle slope to the interior, having a recorded elevation of 2,419 MLL at the coastline.

The Mountains towards the center reach elevations as high as 1,028 meters but not less that 500 meters above sea level and area classified under mountain Landform. These mountain ranges effectively protect the city from typhoons common in the tropics. The city is also outside of the typhoon path, cyclone hazards, and belt.

6. Hydrology

Zamboanga City has a very stable supply of water. Of the total production in 1995 and 1996, only 58% and 60% respectively was consumed as the graph on the right indicates. Meanwhile, expansion projects by the Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD), which owns and operates the water system servicing the City. Created in November 1973, it covers all areas within the boundaries of the City. Its service area, however, is only within a kilometers radius from the City proper. The District is headed by a General Manager, appointed by the Board of Directors. Under the General Manager is a staff with a complement of about 300 personnel including Assistant General Managers, Division Chief’s, and Section Supervisor’s. Located in Barangay , about 7 kilometers from the City, and adjacent to , which is part of the water system owned and operated by the Zamboanga City Water District. The elevated, concrete water tank of a Barangay water system has nearby natural spring as its water source. Such as system is operated by a Barangay water and sewerage cooperative, of which there are a total of 25 in the City, servicing the rural areas. The lowest level water system has hand pumps drawing water from deep wells, as can be seen on the left.

Electric power in the City is supplied by the national Power Corporation (Mindanao Grid, sourced from the Maria Cristina Falls System), purchased and distributed by the Local Zamboanga City Electrical Cooperative (ZAMCELCO). The City has more than enough power to supply the present and future needs of its residential, commercial and industrial users. Power production increased by 8% from 1995 to 1996. Of these total available power supply, an average of only 75% per year is consumed.

To the left is the Sangali Sub-Station of the National Power Corporation, located at Barangay Sangali in the east coast, 27.1 kilometers from the City. Some 4.1 kms. From the City in the east coast is the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (ZAMCELCO) Feeder Sub-Station, located in Barangay Putik. Aside from this, there are the San Jose Gusu Sub- Station, and the Recodo Sub-Station.

Serving as the stand-by power source in case of power outages in the City is the National Power Corporation power barge docked at the west coastal Barangay of Recodo. In anticipating the increase in the demand for power with the operationalization of the Zamboanga Economic Zone and Free Port and the Regional Agri-Industrial Center, the construction of a 100 Megawatt diesel-fired power plant is on-going in barangay Sangali. The project is undertaken by two Filipino entrepreneurs, Alesons and the Aboitiz Ventures, with two foreign partners: Tomen of Japan and the Singapore Power Corporation.

8. Languages/Dialects Spoken

The major languages spoken in the City are Chavacano, Tausug, Samal, Cebuano, and Illongo. The imprint of the Castilian heritage is found in Chavacano, the native dialect which is 70 percent Spanish and the remaining 30 percent an amalgam of other native dialects.

9. Socio-Economic Aspects

Unique Customs and Traditions

The Spanish regime had a considerable influence on the way of life of Zamboangueños. However, the culture blends well with both Islamic and Western influences.

Major Industries

Zamboanga City has vast tracts of agriculture land and borders rich fishing grounds which contribute to the dominance of agriculture and fishing as main livelihood sources for residents. Coconut crude oil and canned tuna are the area’s top dollar earners. Agricultural crops include rice and corn, cassava, bananas, vegetables, and coconuts.

Livestock and poultry production has accelerated through the years. So have commercial, municipal and inland fishing. Major sea products in tuna and like species, herring, sardines, anchovies and mackerel, as well as shrimps, prawns, squid, crabs, lobsters, and cuttlefish. Minor products include bangus and sugpo fry, seaweeds, sea cucumbers and ornamental shells.

Site A (Sinunuc) is about 9.3 kilometers distance from the City Hall of Zamboanga lies Barangay Sinunuc. It’s one the north-west Barangay of Zamboanga City. A total land area of 852.8397 hectares of rich fertile land suitable for farming and a coastal area rich of marine resources. The terrain type of this barangay to the total land area is about 25% coastal, and 25% plain and 50% mountainous.

2. Climate

The city falls under the third and fourth type of climate. The reasons are not very well pronounced, relatively dry from the months of December to April and minimal rain from May to August and welt in September. The city being outside the typhoon belt, it is rarely visited by typhoons.

Tropical cyclones of typhoons rarely affect the city because it is particularly outside the typhoon belt.

The hottest temperature was recorded at 29.3o Celsius in July and the lowest temperature at 27.3o Celsius in January.

The site is relatively flat to partly 50% terrain. From the highway the site opens to a plain-like area and rises to 10 to 15 meters mountainous like on the rare part terrain.

The existing watershed at Barangay La Paz supplies water to Barangay Sinunuc.

Some typical native birds dwell in the various trees of the site. There aren’t any other wildlife species in particular. Cows and goats are shepherds into the central plain of the site daily by the care taker of the site.

This thesis proposal aims to answer what is the best architectural solution for the present congestion on the patient and lack of medical facilities in Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), where patient coming from neighboring towns and municipality goes to the ZCMC, and the problem with patient where they are going far distant for laboratory checkups. House Bill no. 425 of Congressman Erbie A. Fabian brought to the attention of Health Secretary Francisco Duque the Need to immediately upgrade the Facilities and personnel of the Zamboanga City Medical Center to meet with its current standard as a 250-bed capacity hospital. The congressman explained that the bed capacity of ZCMC has to be increased to cater the volume of patients in Zamboanga City. The Group proposes the project title “Zamboanga City West Coast Medical Complex”. The proposed solution provides a development plan for a Medical Complex specifically of the Zamboanga City West Coast. Aside from the Hospital, a Mental health Center, and a Medical Mall are also considered and included in the development to serve the far West Barangays.

Due to the vastness of land area of the city and increasing population, there exist a compelling necessity to decentralized and speed up the Medical services.

Design concept explains an architectural solution that suites the design philosophy to merge the idea as one. One of the concept matters is the Proper Planning and Zoning, an outer solution for zoning and land utilization to aim a green architecture for the proposed medical complex, to connote balance and rhythm with the existing selected site. Modern Character deals with the exterior and interior design of the proposed infrastructure, which shows the aesthetic features of a medical structure with its modern facilities. Proper Planning, an art of solution for proper flow and interconnection of each space with in the structure to avoid human traffic, congestion and wasted space in order to have a functional plan. CONCLUSION

If this medical complex will be realize someday, patients from West Coast Barangays of Zamboanga City would take the opportunity to have their patients be treated in the said medical complex project particularly on emergency cases. For the people of West Coast Barangays of Zamboanga it is now less travel time and economical in their part, they can avail immediate medical treatment for the patients, there is a greater chances of survival due to immediate attention with present of the project, and medical needs of the constituent in the community would be given necessary attention that would corresponds with particularly level of medical treatment.

If this proposal hopefully implements by the local Government this would be the first one stop shop amenities for health care services, with it’s three main structure the Hospital, Medical Mall, and Mental Health Center.

Site A: Sinunuc

Site A is at Barangay Sinunuc about 9.3 kilometers distance from the City Hall of Zamboanga. It’s one of the North-West Barangay of Zamboanga City. The site has a total area of approximately 8.1 hectares. It generally flat to 15% sloping terrain and is composed mainly of clay loam. The site is partly dense with trees and shrubs mainly of coconut trees and a few banana herbs and some fruit trees. The site is own by Katherine Ledesma.

Site B is at Barangay Ayala which is 16 kilometers distance from the City hall of Zamboanga. The site has an area of approximately 1 hectares. And its land is composed mush of clay loamy soil and most of which are coconut trees and shrubs. The site is located on the Ayala and on its boundary of Recodo. The site is directly accessible to the main highway. The property is own by Catabato Timberland Corporation, INC.

Site C: Recodo

Site C is at Barangay Recodo which is 15 Kilometers distance from the City hall of Zamboanga. The site has an area of approxiatmetly of 4.8 hectares. And its land is composed of sandy loam and most of which is coconut trees and shrubs. The site is located near the Baradero de Recodo and accessible to the main highway.
