When we can’t laugh in our own lives, we search for a segment that’ll draw our lips into a crescent, when we lose our small daily battles, we look for a program that will empower us, and when we’re sad, we find a show that’ll let our remaining tears seep into our shirt sleeves. But in all our efforts to fill this void, we’re sitting in silence on our life-draining thrones, subconsciously pleading for a voice in all the commercialized chaos of cable television.
