The Tournament Directors Successful doubles – Markus Günthardt and Anke Huber

Behind the success of the Porsche Grand Prix is a whole team. It is headed by Markus Günthardt as Tournament Director and Anke Huber as Operating Tournament Director.

Markus Günthardt, himself a professional on the ATP Tour from 1978 to 1985 and a Davis Cup player for Switzerland, has been the tournament director since 2005. After a playing career in which he was world-ranked No. 40 in the doubles rankings, he remained in the game first as tournament director at the Eurocard Open in Stuttgart and the ATP Tour World Championships in Hannover. He later acted as a consultant for the Turkish Tennis Association at the WTA Championships which were played in Istanbul from 2011 to 2013. His experience is in demand worldwide also in the WTA Board of Directors. Markus Günthardt lives with his wife and two children in Madrid and in Switzerland.

Anke Huber has been the Operating Tournament Director of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix since 2002. The former No 4 on the WTA world rankings played the stand-out match of her career against Stefanie Graf in the 1995 Masters final. One year later she reached her only final at the . She amassed a total of 12 WTA tournaments. At the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, she won the tournament in 1991 (against ) and again in 1994 (against ). Of the 632 she played in her career, she won 418. She has two children and lives with her family in Frankenthal, Germany.
