The main tourism statistics, tourism competitiveness index are presented and analyzed in the article. The article discusses the main types of tourism that may be developed in Armenia such as religious, historical-cultural, spa-resort, eco- and agri-, sport and adventure, gastronomic, urban, educational, scientific, medical tourism. Although the growth of tourism in recent years, there are still many problems that hinder the promotion of tourism. The tourism statistics, marketing policy, legislation must be improved. Besides, the educational system must meet the requirements of the labor market. Tourist specialists must have all the skills for tourism industry development. Thus, the main problems are revealed and the trends and ways of tourism development are analyzed in the article. Add about 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of grated cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the cheese is melted, stirring constantly. Serve on bread or toast, topping each with cress, sliced tomatoes, or onion if desired. Try some of the salad suggestions on the preceding page—many of them make excellent sandwich fillings. Crediting Legumes in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program This guidance applies to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) meal patterns for grades K-12 and preschoolers (ages 1-4) in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the NSLP, and Afterschool Snack Program (ASP) of the NSLP. For information on the meal patterns and crediting foods for grades K-12, visit the Connecticut State Department of Education’s (CSDE) Meal Patterns for Grades K-12 in School Nutrition Programs and Crediting Foods in School Nutrition Programs webpages. Legumes include cooked dry beans and peas, such as black beans, black-eyed peas (mature, dry), edamame (soybeans), garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, navy beans, soybeans, split peas, and white beans. Legumes may credit as either the meat/meat alternates component or the vegetables component, but one serving cannot credit as both components in the same meal or snack. Menu planners must determine in advance how to credit legumes in a meal. A ¼-cup serving of legumes credits as 1 ounce of the meat/meat alternates component or ¼ cup of the vegetables component. Legumes may credit as either component in different meals. For example, lentils may credit as the vegetables component at one lunch, and as the meat/meat alternates component at another lunch. If the meal includes two servings of legumes, the menu planner may choose to credit one serving as the vegetables component and one serving as the meat/meat alternates component. -

As the recipes are based on different measurements and temperature scales we have added conversion tables for your (and our) help. At the end of the recipe book you will find a vocabulary list with the most common ingredients for the recipes in the languages used in the countries involved in the project. For the order of recipes we decided to begin with starters and soups being followed by various main courses and desserts. Finally we have added a chapter about typical cookies and cakes. We learned during the project work, that making cookies yourself is not common in many of the countries involved in this project, but nevertheless many nice cookies recipes exist – we wanted to give them some space here and we hope that you will try out some of them! We have added a DVD which shows the making of some of the dishes during the meetings and also contains the recipes. -

Geghard Monastery carved out of a huge monolithic rock. Geghard is an incredible ancient Armenian monastery, partly carved out of a mountain. It is said that the Holy Lance that pierced the body of Christ was kept here. The architectural forms and the decoration of Geghard’s rock premises show that Armenian builders could not only create superb works of architecture out of stone, but also hew them in solid rock. It is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Garni From Geghard it is 11km to Garni Temple. Garni Pagan Temple, the only Hellenistic temple in the Caucasus. Gracing the hillside the temple was dedicated to the God of Sun, Mithra and comprises also royal palace ruins, Roman Baths with a well preserved mosaic. Lunch in Garni also Master class of traditional Armenian bread “lavash” being baked in tonir (ground oven). The preparation, meaning and appearance of traditional bread as an expression of culture in Armeniahas been inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Sevan Visit to Sevan Lake which is 80 km from Garni temple. Sevan Lake is the largest lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region. With an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level, it’s one of the highest lakes in the world. The name Sevan is of Urartian origin, and is derived of Siuna, meaning county of lakes. -

ThompsonsBeans.com Smoked Baked Beans Serves 8 Smokey goodness with this recipe! ½ pound bacon, thinly sliced 2 onions, diced 1 sweet bell pepper (red, orange, or yellow), diced 907 g (2 lbs.) of cooked Thompsons White Pea Beans or pinto beans (approx. 12-14 cups) * See (alternate) Easy Crockpot soak and simmer method below, or “Soaking and cooking directions” below. Soak 2 lbs. dry beans overnight, drain, add 5 cups of water then simmer for 45 minutes to 2 hours until tender – it will not soften in the sauce). 2 ½ cups of ketchup ¼ cup molasses 1 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon chili powder ½ teaspoon mustard powder ½ teaspoon black pepper ¼ lb. (100 g) lean pork or low salt bacon, sliced Soaking and cooking directions: Sort and rinse beans. SOAK BEANS OVERNIGHT in cold water. Drain. Add 5 cups cold water, cover, heat to boiling, then simmer 45 minutes or until nearly tender. Drain. 1. Set Smoker for 250°F, using wood of choice (hickory or mesquite are excellent choices). 2. Cook bacon, onions and diced pepper in a skillet just until the onions are starting to get tender and a lot of the fat is cooked out of the bacon. Drain most of the bacon grease, keeping about 2-3 tablespoons. 3. In a large bowl, whisk together the ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and spices until combined. 4. Stir in the cooked white pea beans (or try cooked pinto beans), bacon and onion mixture and reserved bacon grease with the sauce until everything is coated in the sauce. -

Welcome to Our Table A Culinary Guide to Inclusive Diversity at INL 2020 Inaugural Edition ooking. The process of taking raw food ingredients and turning them into a meal that nourishes our body and, often, our soul. An activity that is enjoyed around the world. A cultural common denominator that can both Cdefine us uniquely and bring us together when we break bread. Many of our favorite memories are centered around food. These might be regional delicacies unique to where we grew up, family recipes passed down for generations, traditional holiday meals, or even simple snacks that remind of us of our childhood. When we share these recipes with others, we share a part of our identity. At Idaho National Laboratory, we celebrate this spirit of multicultural togetherness. This book of recipes – gathered from INL employees – carries on this spirit. It celebrates the diversity of people and foods from throughout the world that have made their way to our laboratory. Inside you will find recipes from many countries and cultures, including some that were (until now) closely guarded family secrets. This book assembles are a variety of food types from a wide array of cultures. They represent our unique experiences being shared with one another. We encourage each of you to sample the recipes contained within. Give unfamiliar recipes a try, both to enrich your table and to better understand the diversity of cultures that make up our INL community and the wider world. Enjoy!
