The Bach Archive is looking to fill a permanent, full-time (40 hours a week) position as a research fellow.

The Leipzig Bach Archive is widely recognized as the world’s pre-eminent centre of Bach scholarship and investigation into the life, work, and reception of , as well as into other members of the . The Bach Archive fulfills this role in dealing with research projects, working on museum exhibits, and organising the annual Leizig Bachfest.

What the work entails: Working in the Archive’s research department both independently and in a creative team to investigate in musical and archival sources and to prepare critical editions, as well as taking part in academic discourse through publishing and the regular participation in scholarly conferences. Additionally it entails mediating formats to disseminate research findings. Since the Bach Archive is an affiliated institute of the University of Leipzig there is also a limited amount of teaching obligation at the Musikwissenschaftliches Institut of the University (Department of Musicology, ).

Necessary qualifications: - Doctoral degree in Musicology - Very good knowledge of the life and works of J. S. Bach, current issues of Bach scholarship, and experience in dealing with soures from the 17th and 18th centuries. - Musicological publications (preferably dealing with Baroque Music) - Experience with creation and/or maintenance of academic databases and digital editions - Fluency in German and English

Payment for this position is determined by pay grade 13 TVöD/VKA. Severely disabled applicants with equal qualification and aptitude will be given preferential consideration.
