The sampling groups of this study were the students of Kafkas University Education Faculty educated at Physical Education and Sports Department (25 students), Basic Mathematics Teaching Department (25 students), Science Teaching Department (25 students), and Social Studies Teacher’s Department (25 students) 4th class totally 100 participant students in 2016−2017 academic year. The sampling group was selected using simple random—the data handed with the help of the data collecting scale evaluated by using the SPSS Package Program.

Carnitine concentrations were detected in both neonatal calves with suspected septicaemia (n = 195) and healthy calves (n =10) as well as in colostrum/milk samples from their dams (n = 20). The mean carnitine concentration on the 2nd day after colostrum intake (32.61 µmol/L) was significantly higher than that measured before colostrum intake (17.61 µmol/L) (P < 0.05).

    ACCREDITATION OF VETERINARY TRAINING IN EUROPE Prof. Dr. R. Tamay Basagac Gul Accreditation of veterinary medical programs and institutions in the world was first introduced by the American Veterinary Medical Association in 1946. The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), the official accreditation authority for veterinary schools in Europe, was established in Paris in 1988. MISSION of the EAEVE The mission of the EAEVE is to evaluate, promote and further develop the quality and standard of veterinary medical establishments and their teaching within, but not limited to, the member states of the European Union (EU). The evaluation of veterinary medical establishments in Europe is carried out by the EAEVE in cooperation with the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe-FVE. The evaluation system is managed by the EAEVE via the ECOVE, again in cooperation with the FVE. The EAEVE/FVE evaluation system gives assurance to: o the public – to know they can trust the quality of graduating veterinary surgeons and the service they deliver o veterinary students – to know their education reaches agreed and acceptable standards o veterinary establishments – to know that their curricula and School reaches agreed benchmarked levels Untill receantly, the evaluation system had consisted of two stages with similar mechanical steps but different approaches and purposes. Stage 1 had been about the approval of a school, meaning that the veterinary training complies with the reQuirements of the EU Directive 2005/36, whereas Stage 2 had been about the accreditation of a school, meaning that it complies with the generally accepted and appropriate academic standards and provides training with an acceptable level of quality.

The present report focuses on a special episode of that story, namely, the case of Academics for Peace. Turkish government declared a national state of emergency immediately after the failed coup in June 2016. Yet, universities were already in a de facto state of emergency that started with the case of Academics for Peace and the by now internationally well-known “Peace Petition,” released on January 11, 2016. What came to happen after the petition was a lynch campaign that lasted for months to silence and oppress its signatories. Academics who signed the petition were exposed to a variety of rights violations by political authorities and with the involvement of various agents, including university administrators, colleagues, public prosecutors, security forces, pro-government press and aggressive nationalist groups.

Accepted 3 November, 2020 ABSTRACT The aim of the study is to compare learning styles of students in the department of chemistry education in education faculties and learning styles of students in the department of chemistry in faculties of science or faculties of arts and sciences in Turkey. The study group of the study is comprised of 1291 undergraduate students in total from the chemistry departments in eight universities and from Chemistry Education departments in 5 universities located in different geographical regions in Turkey. Data was obtained using Kolb Learning Style Inventory. When the entire study group is considered, it is observed that chemistry undergraduate students have diverging learning style as the dominant and that the assimilating learning style as the second among their learning style preferences. It is concluded that chemistry students have assimilating learning style while chemistry education students have diverging learning style as the dominant one according to the departments.
